Dear It Is Written friend, It’s a phenomenal thing, really. The idea that a nation would set aside a day in order to give thanks to God. In 1864, President Abraham Lincoln issued a proclamation which said, in part: “And I do further recommend to my fellow-citizens aforesaid that on that occasion they do reverently humble themselves in the dust and from thence offer up penitent and fervent prayers and supplications to the Great Disposer of Events for a return of the inestimable blessings of peace, union, and harmony throughout the land which it has pleased Him to assign as a dwelling place for ourselves and for our posterity throughout all generations.” It’s interesting to me that President Lincoln wrote this proclamation in the midst of the Civil War. Today, we find ourselves engaged in an even more serious conflict. Peter wrote in 1 Peter 5:8, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” Paul wrote that “we wrestle … against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12). And in Revelation 12:17, John wrote that “the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed.” We’re in a war. But we know that even during a war, people are miraculously saved. Just a week or so ago, I received this email from a woman I’ll call Kate. “I have been out of the church now 25+ years. I have listened to every message from [the Revelation Today] seminar, and I want you to know I have made the decision to come back to God. I will be baptized next month. Thank you most of all for allowing God to use you as a messenger of his true love for me. I praise God for directing me to your message of truth. I can’t wait to be baptized!” Many people chose to be baptized as a result of the Revelation Today: The Great Reset meetings!
