Abstract— The fuzzy logic theory is an important intelligence technique, which allows designing and developing many applications that employ effective mathematical calculations to solve real world based problems. The objective of this paper is to develop an interactive method for presenting suggestions of sonographers or field experts with the help of fuzzy logic theory. In this approach the sonographic evidence of liver is considered to presenting Radiologist/ sonographer’s opinion regarding a disease on behalf of the sonographic images generated by USG machine. Here the liver parameters like liver size, hepatic vein size and duct size for IHBR (Intra Hepatic Biliary Radicals) is taken into consideration to displaying the results in terms of opinion regarding disease. These three parameters become the three inputs to the FIS editor, and one output i.e. disease opinion, the corresponding membership functions have to be created. The potential benefit of using fuzzy logic is to increase the intelligibility and ease of report generation instantly with the sonographic images print outs. This will also save the time of expert to write the report separately.MATLAB software affords the basic support to cherish such system.

Common Liver diseases include hepatitis infection, fatty liver disease, cancer as well as damage from alcohol, the pain reliever and some cancer drugs. Hepatomegaly, hepatic congestion and IHBR dilation are some of the most common disorders in liver discomfort. These three parameters are chosen as output i.e disease opinion in this paper. Hepatomegaly is the enlargement of liver beyond its normal size. The main symptom is feeling of fullness in abdomen. Hepatic congestion is result from hepatic vein obstruction. Most often symptom is Pain in right upper abdomen.IHBRD is due to the obstruction in hepatic ducts. The usual symptoms are yellowish skin.[4] In medical diagnosis, the assessment of what the symptoms of a patient are often cannot be very exactly specified, since there are many possible qualitative and quantitative gradations in severity, incidence or frequency that could occur. Different symptoms may also be overlap to some extent. These gradations can be difficult to measure. Fuzzy approach is helpful in these situations. The basic configuration of the logic system considered in this paper is shown in fig.1.

Index Terms—Fuzzy Logic Theory, Sonography, FIS Editor, MATLAB Membership Function.

I. INTRODUCTION Fuzzy logic achieves a way of representing reasoning about human knowledge that is vague in nature. In fuzzy Logic all truths are partial or approximate.[1] Fuzzy systems are very useful in two general contexts (1) in situations involving highly complex systems whose behaviors are not well understood and (2) in situations where an approximate, but fast, solution is warranted.[2] Sonography allows evaluation of the anatomy of body organ in multiple planes; the field experts can precisely localize a lesion.[3] Ultrasonography is a device that uses high frequency sound waves to create an image of some parts of inside human body such as stomach, liver, heart, tendons, muscles, joints and body vessels. Ultrasound scans are used to detect problems in liver, heart, kidney or the abdomen. In this paper liver is taken into consideration. Liver is the largest organ inside our body. It helps our body to digest food, store energy and remove poisons. It is a vital organ that supports nearly every organ into body facet. Without a healthy liver, a person cannot survive.

The literature is undertaken from various resources such as journals, conference articles, online sources, and reference and text books. All relevant information is studied to construct a precise summary. Fuzzy logic theory is a mathematical approach that permits partial membership. Fuzzy logic is applied to control the anesthesia given to the patients during surgical operation [5].For classifying the single channel surface electromyography signal, the parameters median and standard deviation gave best results for discriminating closing and opening hand movements [6].Fuzzy
