EDITOR´S NOTE Imagism Magazine is constantly looking for new talents who want to present their work in our online and print publications. We want to be a platform for creatives all over the world to showcase their talent. Photographers, models, make up artists,hair stylist, designers or retouchers. We present their work not only in our magazine but also on our website and on social media platforms such as instagram and facebook. We do not ask for previously unreleased content. Once the submitted images are accepted we ask for a "short story behind the shot" in which the photographer and/or other team-members tell us about the shooting itself. What was the source of inspiration for the shooting, funny anecdotes, mishaps, success stories. We want to get a little insight into the behind the scenes. We want to thank all our contributors for their beautiful content.

WITCHES
photos by POLINA PETUKHOVA My inspiration for the shooting was a suggestion of my make up artist. as always, she called me and said: "Let´s do a fotoshooting of witches for Halloween!" At that very moment the picture was formed by itself in my head . Looks, selected by Lisa, the scenery found in the studio and picked by me - it all coincided with what I imagined. And we used every material we could find during the shooting: aquariums, laces, glass. I leaned a small part of glass to the lens which created fabulous patterns. I was responsible for the photography, and my friends helped with the light. The shooting was inspired by Paolo Roversi. I plunged into the world of his
photography before the shooting, and it turned out perfectly. Our idea was to create a mystical and magical atmosphere during the filming process. We did not want to recreate any bloody scenes, as is customary for Halloween. We wanted mystery. And we got it. The models easily took up on our idea and perfectly played the role. Together we thought what else to add to the frame and went for shiny multicolored flashlights. It was great!

"I'm Gautier Van Lieshout, a french photographer. I'm 19. When I shoot, I really want to create a new world, something different" I decided to realize ÂŤ New Humans Âť because I wanted to talk about our society. These new humans want to resolve the problems, to create a new way of thinking. I want to show selfish, stylish and bizarre humans. With these glitters, my models have a new skin, and I love that ! In my "New Humans" series, it's about the little emotions people have today, being selfish. The new humans are very cold. No emotions. No identity. No sex. No religion. No empathy. I have my own team. I work with an Artistic Director, Alexia Vic. I have two Make Up Artists, a hair-stylist, two light assistants, a backstage photographer and a backstage
video maker. I have a partnership with Make-Up for Ever for the glitter. I always worked in teams. If you want to photograph, you can't do many things on your own. There is no flow in working if you're busy with adjusting light, rearrange details. When I realized "New Humans" , the timing was very important. It was really difficult for the models to stay more than one hour with the glitter. It was a really big challenge to create something in a short amount of time. "New Humans" was very particular, it was important to stay concentrated while shooting"

"When I shoot, I really want to create a new world, something different"

I started studying cinematography, because what I like is telling stories, creating emotions. But working on that, I realized that in film you have to depend on a lot of people , and you need a lot of time to create a movie. During that time I made photos of landscapes and people, especially of my girlfriend. I was fascinated by capturing her beauty in different moments and situations, until there came a time when she got tired of me taking so many pictures of her. She encouraged me to look for models for my photos. That’s how I got into the world of models and fashion. When I realized that one could also tell stories and create emotions with photography it was almost immediate: I knew I had to leave the world of cinematography and I focused solely on the world of photography of models. Behind the camera, my way of working is to first look at the model. I observe the way the light molds the models
face, the angles that I think most favour it, and once I have carefully observed and reflected on all that, I forget about it, and let the model be the one who offers me its truth. I will guide it in terms of looks and positions, since everything I observed before is still there, consciously, but I try to catch the moment of more beauty, the one that contains the most true emotions, and that I think, is usually found almost always between one pose and another, in a very subtle way. When you look through all the photos you see it clearly, you say to yourself, that is it, that was THAT moment.

I am the moral character in this image. It is up to me to inspire a story in the viewer’s mind. It is me, who portrays a moment in this story. This may sound quite ignorant regarding the hard pre-, peri- and post work of many people that goes into the making of an editorial, but for me as the model in the pictures, those are the thoughts that count in the moment of the shot. When I was presented with the idea of "Shadows" I took into consideration the first associations that came to mind. Shadow and light typically symbolize darkness and brightness, the bad and the good, secrecy and clarity. Opposites that go hand in hand. It was my task to reinforce the setting’s naturally mysterious mood, by subtly
bringing out both sides of these qualities at once, using nothing but my facial expression. Unlike many other photoshoots which had required me to express emotions I could not personally relate to, this particular shoot allowed me to simply let loose, feel and reflect the mood of the moment and have the shapes on my face frame the atmosphere of this story. Every character has a darker and brighter side to them, and these are mine.

I don´t set limits to myself . I'm always ready to experiment and try new things. The connection with the models is crucial for me because of the passion of the creative thrive through the connection with people. I choose to work with people who have not only gorgeous faces but also charming personalities. This is the reason why the models I work with should be open minded and love what they do. Because it’s not about the ideas but making them happen. By pushing yourself into new areas you will have a chance to authentically define who you are, and break free of the limitations of what others think about you. Everything remarkable happens beyond the comfort zone. The team is very important for me because I strongly believe that team work makes the dream work. Fortunately I have a great team. Having fun during the photoshoot is essential. Maybe that is the main reason why it’s that easy to become friends
in real life. We laugh and enjoy the time spend together when shooting in a studio or outdoors. I can’t wait to meet any of these people and shoot together because time spent with friends is never wasted. To achieve these results with Elena I used 22 inch beauty dish without grid. Placed high and 45∞ to the subject. I really like this type of lightning it always look gorgeous and fresh. I love to experiment every single time and meet new interesting opportunities. I strongly believe that the tools are not the most important thing in photography. Certainly they do matter but photographers are hired not of the tools they own but because of their vision.

make up by GABRIELLA TIPSA BRUUN photos by SIDSEL CLEMENT I love colors, patterns and texture, which is the inspiration for these looks . I wanted to create something never seen before,a mix of colors and texture in avant-garde style. This time I was inspired by the stylists choice of textures and designs and the hair stylists idea for a hair-style. And they in return were inspired by my looks. On this particular shoot there is a color or texture match so it balances out to a full look even though it is uneven. Like the small dots fit the small pattern on the models top, or the rose gold metallic necklace fits the brow color. The straight brow fits the hair structure with the dreadlocks. It was super fun to do this shoot. The photographer matched the background color and light so we ended up with a bold color theme. The mood board
is very important so everybody is working in the same direction. When I do my creative looks, I most of the time have it planned out in advance but often I actually just work like any other artist on set, feeling the look. Sometimes I am not even sure if it´s working or if I like it. Many times I learn to love it when I see the final result. I feel that it is extremely important to give the best you got on set in talent and vibe to create something outstanding. What I love about shooting is that with a great team we were able to create something amazing from absolutely nothing.

Our goal was to create something classical and yet outstanding. We wanted to combine fresh and contemporary fashion photography with colorful and her emotive expressions. We wanted to see if we could matched her natural hair color - to accent her face and lips on which we carefully placed red, shiny jewels in various sizes. It was important for us to experiment during the photoshooting so that we could let ourselves surprise by the results. Those results were acutely seductive, providing us with a view into a riotous fashion dream world. We fell in love with those results, even if – no – because the outcome was way more dramatic and much more expressive than we expected it to be.
create vibrant and creative artwork by using stylized photographic techniques, such as experimental time exposure and the use of various transparent sheets in different colors. The final images were barely edited in photoshop – we created all the color and blurred effects during the actual photoshoot. For this editorial we decided to focus on the lips. Darya's lips are full and big, so she was the perfect model for this idea. That's also the reason we hid the model's super long hair under a wig - which

Look 1: I made this shooting in a tandem with one of the most talented makeup artists I ever worked with. Svetlana wanted to show extra wetness and pure skin that glows from inside. I was inspired by the makeup she made and decided to maintain her idea but add something strange, frightening and artificial to it. I wanted this model to look like a living doll, a copy of a real woman, an alien beauty. Look 2: My inspiration for this shooting was Kristina’s appearance and personality. We have know each other for a long time and I always admired her kindness, modesty, intelligence
and beauty. I didn't want to overload this shooting with the unnecessary details. I wanted more air, more space. That’s why day light and simple white background were chosen. And I'm also in love with that white vintage bodysuit that underlines her fragile nature.

The Make Up Artist´s story: My inspiration for my make up most of the time comes as soon as I see the models face. She inspires me a lot. This is why I didn´t know what kind of make up we were going for before I met our models. During our shooting in Zürich I was thinking about what kind of make up could be powerful for the cover and I came up with this idea whilst also including my style of make up. I’m always carrying all my beauty make up and also bodypaint products with me, just in case I´ll need it. In that case I painted Laura´s neck violet to give her more drama and a mysterious look. The shooting was great - we booked three models as we wanted to create a lot of different looks and styles. I loved them all! There was great communication between all the team-members. Together with the Hair Stylist and Photographer we created these magical looks. When I’m working and I’m having fun with the team, I could stay for hours because I’m losing time. When I’m working, I have a lot of passion for my job but I think our model was a bit tired at the end, otherwise we could have stayed there until the next morning. But that has given me the power to work with Mascha and the team again to create some more incredible art. I can’t wait for our next shooting! The photographer´s story: In general I am pretty well prepared before a shooting. We usually create a Mood-board for

the individual models and I prepare accordingly. I like to know in advance what we are going for. Are we going to create a Look for harsh lighting or soft light, are we going for a colorful theme or black and white, will it be more romantic or fashionable. Of course during the shootings the models inspire me aswell with her looks and movements. With Einat I had no idea though what we were going to go for, so I prepared myself for every possibility. My studio was full of different light shapers and colorful backdrops and Color Gels just in case I´ll need to change the lighting according to the make up. It was such a great experience though. Einat is such a great Artist and her Looks are so special. Everyone in the industry right away recognizes her style and this is what I love about her. She is unique. Also the Hairdresser Roswitha did an amazing job, creating wonderful hairstyles to round up the make up. The models were so professional and amazing and did a wonderful job in presenting Einat´s Art. I am so very thankful to having a great team behind me that make it possible for me to create amazing images. I am looking forward to our next Shooting together!

make up by VALENTINA PINTUS The main inspiration for this editorial were the textures in oil painting, mostly when applied with a spatula. I get influenced in my beauty projects from many different mediums that I like to mix. In this case powders and creams were used by themselves or in layers to give more structure to the makeup. Just like a painter, most of the times I got a rough idea on what I want to achieve but the project usually evolves under my hands getting crazier and crazier sometimes! I always start from a cleaner look, as I love a perfect glowy skin, then I start to add the peculiarity for each look, something on the lips, some on the eyes. The catch is trying not to exaggerate and ruin everything!I teamed up with a very talented photographer for
this shoot, Nikola Gerstner, and her ability with the light set up was essential to highlight that beautiful canvas that Regan Botica´s face is. I worked with Regan on another beauty shoot , her face is just perfectly balanced and her skin is absolutely awesome! Essential, for the best outcome, was also the retouching of Riga Elina. She is a perfectionist and her retouching style is super natural, not at all overdone, which I like. We worked together in various commercial and editorial projects and her work is always on point!

For this shooting I used Deep Antique God by V)OR Makeup (my Brand) and Red Pigments combined with 3D accessorize realized by me.I am Beauty Director, Makeup Artist and Hair-Stylist with 27 years of experience in Fashion System but also, I work on Art Expositions since 2008, for this reason I realized an Art Pictorial Editorial to get Art and Fashion closer. I studied many years to create V)OR Makeup Brand, every color used in Goldess Editorial is a piece of the brand. Every time, Gabriele Di Martino, Myra Postolache and me work all together to choose models, magazine and mood. Before the shooting, I prepare the Makeup Face-Charts in assignment to every model and every V)OR makeup assistants, even if sometimes I change my first idea and modify the original combination between Face-Chart and Model due to their personal natural attitude to pose. This is the most frequent funny anecdote. In each editorial that we create, what we love most is that every model has good vibes when they are ready to the photoshoot; Really also when the makeup is very creative and strong, models go back home with their makeup and when this happens I am really happy because this means that they see themselves gorgeous and I love it! We want to share our visual idea as best as we can do it! The strongest obstacles that we need to overcome is to be sure that all models arrive duly to the photoshoot, all staff is present and the photo camera, computer and lights are all fully functional. Last we manage preparation and shooting times. The complementary combination of colours is the inspiration of “X-Plosion 2.0” Editorial combined to accessorizes

make up by MARGUERITE GEBHARDT I had been following Antiras work for quiet sometime and love her creative flair and had been wanting to collaborate with her . So as shootings develop and materialize I approached her, sendt her my moodboard and she really liked it so we exchanges ideas. I love working with metallics and textures. I like the way they reflect on darker skins. That’s how we found Cheyenne, a young new model who we felt had the natural beauty to compliment the looks. All we needed was a Hairdresser to complete our team so I asked my friend and colleague Maria Del Mar Puente with whom I have done many shoots, to collaborate with us. And so for a 1st time collaboration and certainly not the last so to use the words of Antira “ I really love the pictures! They are so unique. photography by SHAY KAHZAM I'm a photographer but in first line I'm a Creator. Before every shooting I imagine how the spectator will see my creation. Will I be able to transmit the emotions I am feeling when thinking about my idea? To gather all the different elements I am thinking of, I will write down on a piece of paper anything i need in order to get the shots I want. Each time i think of something in my daily life that could fit the shooting i will add it to my “Idea-Sheet�. Slowly the idea forms and I introduce it to my team. We then let it sink in and together form a coherent idea. The most difficult part during a fotoshooting is to direct the model. To communicate with her and let her know what I imagine in my head. What kind of
pose I want her to do, what kind of expression I want her to give me. Not every angle is flattering to every model, and that is the main obstacle I need to overcome every time. I love strong expressions, So I ask the model to be angry. But of course instead I get the exact opposite effect and she starts to laugh. But I think it is great to loosen up the atmosphere and create a good connection with the team. Especially when you have never worked with the model before.

STRANGE WEEKDAY photos by Yankelevich Natalia
This shooting was inspired by the outstanding beauty of the model and the silence of a countryhouse. The character was planned as the mix of Russian aristocracy and Chehov style women. The location was a russian dacha, a summer country house near Moscow. There are lots of cosy corners, books and sunny terraces to make the shooting atmospheric and thematic. Of course the shooting was planned. The team made a mood-board with the examples of the models poses, clothes, make ups and props to make the result predictable. Also it was helping the model to understand the mood of the idea. The dress was made by the fashion designer “Anastasia Nadezhina�. The place was very inspiring and looked like an old strange house from "The witch the wardrobe and the lion" story. We planned the palette of natural pastel colors and lots of longing looks and dry butterflies. We wanted (and got) the story of a cozy girl that was lost in time. The shooting story is about all the lonely dreamers that go through life sitting in the strange vintage apartments playing with the morning light and waiting for a miracle.
