Is Pushing Content Still a Key to Success in SEO? virginiaseo.org /blog/pushing-content-still-key-success-seo/ Chris Dill As a website builder, a blogger, a small business owner how do you create something that will be well received and will help skyrocket your website and business to the top ten? How do you do that in today’s world? The short answer to that question is; high quality never before used content will help you reach that goal.

High quality content When search engines first began, it was thought that using repetitive words helped you climb the search engine ladder. In today’s world of search engines, the search engines just don’t pick up keywords, they are more intuitive and they look for subject matter that more connects the search words or sentences to what they think the searcher is looking to find.

SEO past At the end of the last century in the 1990’s when computers were being bought for every household, the early search engines found and ranked sites and content by using Contrast, Repetition, Alignment and Proximity. Search engine optimization was always called SEO but it has had to evolve with the times. There was just too much clutter being published online under the old method of contrast, repetition, alignment and proximity known by the web professionals by its less than professional acronym CRAP. CRAP sure was easy to remember but it has become obsolete.

SEO present Keywords can still be helpful in SEO but they need to be used correctly. Have you ever come across content published on the internet found through a search engine that had a great heading but the quality of the content was gibberish? The new smart or intuitive search engines are helping to lead us not to those kinds of nonsense type articles and instead bring us to relevant, smart and intelligent content. The key to creating successful SEO in today’s world would be: Well crafted headlines that are high quality relevant to the subject matter. Clickable headlines that will catch the eye of the user and make them want to read more. Content that is not repetitive and certainly not matching or near matching other content on the internet Keywords that are relevant and used correctly in the content Smart tags on media such as video’s or photographs will help raise search engine results. Reputation does matter. A site or content provider with a good reputation will rank higher.

Grammar, spelling and short strong sentences are also important factors in SEO.

SEO future As the search engines become more and more intuitive, they can and do sense what is known as keyword stuffing. When keyword stuffing is detected, it lowers that content’s ranking. While search engine optimization is growing and evolving yearly, one has to remember that sharing your content still remains helpful. The more times your content is clicked on, the more it will rise in the rankings of search engines. That is one thing that has remained the same for gain on SEO. While it is true that none of us like to promote our own websites or content and toot our own horns, it is a necessary chore. If you don’t have time to do promotions, there are companies you can hire to do some online promotions for you at very reasonable fees.
