Despite being small, stun guns pack a mighty punch, with enough voltage to incapacitate most people. They are compact, effective and inexpensive, which makes them perfect for personal protection.
Stun guns and pepper spray are wonderful forms of personal protection, but they will do little to stop or intimidate someone with a gun. However, someone with a gun can even the odds. Beyond being useful while out in public, it can be a great way to ward off burglars in the case of a home invasion. While traditional bullets can fatally wound or kill someone, there are non fatal alternatives. Rubber bullets and bean bag rounds will only hurt an attacker, without causing them mortal harm. While guns will go the farthest in warding off attackers, they are the most expensive and hardest form of personal protection to obtain. A gun purchase requires a background check, which will exclude most anyone with a criminal history from buying one. They also have a three day waiting period, while other forms of protection do not. To carry a gun in public, a concealed weapon’s permit is required. While this may seem excessive to some, it is all in an effort to encourage safety and responsibility for everyone involved. Law enforcement has set a gold standard for self defense. They have the right equipment to fight crime, and lucky for us, a lot of the same equipment is available to the public. Personal protection equipment comes in many forms. Whether someone prefers pepper spray, stun gun or hand gun, they do not just gain personal protection by carrying it. They also get piece of mind.
