What is Colonoscopy? It is a procedure for diagnosis or treatment of diseases of the large bowel. This procedure is generally done in the morning using local sedation which facilitate Colonoscopy with minimal pain and allow recovery in a short period. During Colonoscopy, the doctor might need to take biopsy. Preparation for Colonoscopy: On your clinic visit, a date and time will be arranged and registered. The night before the procedure, you need to drink a laxative and adhere to liquid-only diet. Some patients who take blood-thinning medications need to stop them temporarily after discussion with your doctor.

On the Colonoscopy day: On the morning of Colonoscopy, you will be received at the admission office to arrange a short admission to perform the procedure. You will then be transferred to the Endoscopy room after placing IV needle for the sedation. Colonoscopy duration varies depending on each case. After it finishes, you will be recovering in the recovery unit and transferred later to your room. It is not allowed to have family members at the Endoscopy and recovery areas. After Colonoscopy: Your doctor will explain the Colonoscopy findings and instruct you about any medications or diet plan to do. Your medications will be picked up from the nurses at your room.
