Adsorbent Media Tube (AMT) technology for separation and filtration of air and gases A result of our expertise and deep experience in air preparation solutions, the IMI Norgren patented Adsorbent Media Tube (AMT) technology is a far more effective, robust and reliable way of removing moisture and contaminants from compressed air in many applications. AMT consists of adsorbent material packaged into a tube structure. Not to be confused with semi permeable membranes, AMT is totally resistant to bulk water and there’s no by-product or chemical reaction when saturated. The open structure of the AMT allows maximum surface area for air & gas to permeate, allowing faster adsorption and a more efficient performance. The AMT can be tightly packed to ensure a consistent flow of air through with minimal drop in pressure. AMT is ideal for the efficient removal of contaminants and/or the separation of specific materials by adsorption from air and gases.
Moisture can be removed from compressed air and gases, CO2 recovered and volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) removed from air or gas streams.
> Compact design - The fast regeneration enables system design and configuration to be significantly reduced in size compared to conventional techniques.
Break through technology
> Custom made tubes - AMT can be formulated and manufactured according to specific application requirements
> Energy - Energy consumed for regeneration is >50% of other technologies. Purge air losses are low, typically <5% at 10 bar. > Operating pressure - Operation from atmospheric pressure up to 350 bar. > Low pressure drop - Pressure drop through AMT is negligible, <2% of the equivalent packed bed of adsorbent beads. > Flexibility - Performance is unaffected by orientation and/or vibration. > Durability – AMT will recover fully even when completely saturated with water. Chemical resistance is high and there is no shedding of dust.
