Option 8 Simulation Simulation can be done to improve the transfer and therefore, performance of the press (SPM), and/ or to optimize the transfer curve for a new job. > Our Press Programming Specialist will optimize your transfer curves for each job and die set using transfer press simulation software > Analyzes current transfer, identifies clash or clearance issues, and adjustments to increase SPM > Completely eliminate trial and error prior to first run > Start up faster, avoid die rework and increase SPM Deliverable: Simulation file

Die engineering innovates die design solutions tailored for your transfer press

Custom equipment can be designed to bridge gaps between operations to amend press processes for new parts or to reuse old tooling equipment in new applications or plants.

> 3D die processing creates ideal die layouts minimizing the number of dies needed and reducing machining waste > 3D die design modeling replicates die functions by filling gaps between dies, or orienting and rotating parts in a series of dies

> Linear slides to work around a pitch problem > Tipper, Rotary or Spreader Units (or a combination) to get around die process issues

> Tooling carts for organized storage of tooling by job > Turnover stations to resolve part orientation issues > Black Slice Nesting System for supporting panels in press idle stations when a die is lacking, or a part needs to be staged for the next automation. The Black Slice Nesting System conforms to the geometry of the part for effective support and protection.

Structures - Design and Manufacture Conventional aluminum and steel booms are heavy and imprecise (shakes). Carbon fiber booms are lightweight, durable and sturdier for higher speed and/ or precision for pick and place or transfer presses. > Using a unique carbon fiber layup structure, the weight of the system is reduced by 50% over traditional steel crossbars without compromising the strength and deflection > High strength and stiffness can be attained using high modulus carbon fiber material > Carbon fiber can be molded into complex shapes or long structures (up to 20 feet) to meet custom loading characteristics of application

Finite Element Analysis (FEA) FEA is performed with composite material layer analysis tool to analyze the deflection, vibration and stress of the carbon fiber structure. Layer analysis is capable of: > Showing layer patterns (parallel, cross) > Analyzing the deflection and stress within individual layers Deflection test > Performed after the carbon fiber layup and baking process > Compares theoretical and physical deflection test data Accelerometer test > Performed while the crossbar is in working condition to collect vibration and deflection data

Product Overview We design and manufacture intelligent products for Tandem, Crossbar, Tri-axis and Hot Forming Press applications. We move material by integrating quick tool changers, carbon fiber structures, sensors, grippers, end of arm tooling (EOAT) and vacuum cup products for moving material in the stamping press. Transfer Tooling Applications Tri-axis Transfer Press

Crossbar Transfer Press

Three axes of movement – clamp, lift and pitch – transfer a blank through a series of dies, creating a finished part.

Carbon fiber or steel bar with modular or end of arm tooling, transfers blanks or stamped parts across a series of dies.

> Modular tooling with grippers can be built and adjusted in unique orientations without special fixtures

> Suction cups and venturis are frequently used to transfer parts

> Component joints are numbered for ease of design

Tandem Transfer Press (Front or End of Line Tooling) > Destacking system can be designed using gantry overheads or robotics in the Front of Line (FOL) that feeds single sheets into a press > Double Blank Analyzers can be used in FOL to eliminate press damage by separating oily or sticky sheets

> Robotic Carbon Fiber Global Booms with automatic tool changers, round tooling, spring mounts and clamps can be mounted at either front or end of line to transfer panels > End of Line (EOL) Tooling is a fully automated robotic system that transports panels from dies to conveyor or panel storage racks > Design ensures maximum throughput during loading and unloading
