Based in Derby, Western Australia, Yowadah Express Couriers is a 100% Aboriginal owned and operated small truck delivery service. Newly established, the business seeks to employ and train Indigenous people as it grows, with the aim of having a positive impact on the local community.

BACKGROUND The name ‘Yowadah’ is an Aboriginal word meaning horse. The name of the business is fitting - synonymous with reliability, strength, speed and loyalty. The business name is also reminiscent of ‘The Pony Express,’ a true story from 1860 in which a lone rider would make a perilous journey on horseback to deliver mail more than 2000 miles away, between Missouri and California. The distance was divided into a series of relays, with the rider changing his horse every 10-15 miles.

You can rely on us to deliver your cargo to its final destination safely, with no stress. We comply with all relevant company policies and Australian road rules, and are committed to achieving a high standard of health and safety. Our delivery area includes the town of Derby and surrounding areas, remote Aboriginal communities and pastoral stations, all roads permitting.
RESIDENTIAL Yowadah Express Couriers can also assist with the uplift and delivery of general household items, and a wide range of goods requiring transport by residential customers. We strive to achieve prompt, efficient and friendly service.
OUR EXPERIENCE Harry has worked in the construction industry for close to 20 years, driving water carts, tipper trucks, cranes and forklifts on construction sites. Keen to start his own business, he brings his many years’ experience and his driving skills to Yowadah Express Service. Safety is always our top priority. Harry has an excellent driving record, and has completed additional driver training courses, such as: • Off road, 4-wheel drive training • Driving competency (conducted by Drive Safe Australia) Both Harry and Patricia hold HR (Heavy Rigid) licences.
OUR VISION As the business expands, we aim to train and employ more Indigenous staff. This will benefit the individuals concerned and their families, and have positive flow-on effects throughout the local community.
