Downtown Southington Historical Walking Tour, The Barnes Museum, 85 North Main Street, Southington. This guided tour will take you from Merrell Ave to just past Berlin Ave, unveiling the history of North Main Street’s structures, monuments, and more. Walk in the footsteps of the past as we read diary entries and excerpts from letters kept by the family, offering a unique perspective of the town’s evolution. 11am – 12pm, $10 per person/registration required
April 9-10: Mystic
Pirate Days, Mystic Seaport, 75 Greenmanville Ave Mystic. Head to Mystic Seaport Museum for Pirate Days on April 9-10 for a treasure trove of outdoor fun for the whole family! Tuesday 10:00 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday 10:00 a.m.-3 p.m.
April 13: Storrs
Hao Bang Ah, Dragon! By Chinese Theatre Works, Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry. 1 Royce Cir, Storrs. Hao Bang Ah, Dragon! is the most recent in the series of Chinese Theatre Works’s hand-puppet productions celebrating the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac. Each year, the reigning Zodiac animal spirit presides over a mix of traditional Chinese Budaixi (glove puppets) and western-style puppetry. This year’s show features a dozen different dragons, serving up a spicy mix of song, skits, silliness and sage sayings. 11 am.
April 16-May 5: West Hartford
Alexander and The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, Playhouse on Park, 244 Park Rd, West Hartford. In this delightful adaptation of her popular book, Judith Viorst sets Alexander’s rather trying life to music and brings to the stage one of America’s feistiest characters. Alexander’s struggles with life’s daily dramas will not only entertain but educate young audiences as they identify with Alexander and the obstacles he encounters. $45.00-$55.00

Bluey’s Big Play, The Palace Theatre, 61 Atlantic Street, Stamford. Bluey’s Big Play run time is approximately 50 minutes. When Dad feels like a little bit of Sunday afternoon time out, Bluey and Bingo have other plans! Join them as they pull out all of the games and cleverness at their disposal to get Dad off that bean bag. There is no intermission
April 20: Norwich
Opening Day at Leffingwell House Museum, 348 Washington Street, Norwich. The Road to Revolution 1774 begins at Leffingwell House Museum on April 20 from 11am-3pm. The day begins with the “Bang’ of Brown’s Company of Artillery followed by a Flag raising by Norwich Scouting. $8 pp, children 5 and under free
April 20: Putnam
International Day in Downtown Putnam, Main Street, Putnam. Travel around the globe and learn about other countries and cultures through food, music, crafts, demonstrations, entertainment and more. This is a free, family-friendly event and the first 1000 people get a commemorative passport. 12:30-4:30pm
April 26-28: Essex
8th Connecticut Spring Boat Show, Safe Harbor Essex Island Marina, 11 Ferry St. Essex. The in-water boat show is the first of the season in New England. Visitors will enjoy seeing a wide range of new and pre-owned power and sail models ranging from 20ft to larger than 65ft from leading boat brands. Fri. 1 p.m.-6 p.m., Sat. 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sun. 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
