June 1: Simsbury

UConn Health Half Marathon, 10K & 5K, Simsbury Performing Arts Center, 22 Iron Horse Blvd, Simsbury. The long-time, beloved race tradition on Iron Horse features a picturesque two-loop 13.1 mile course along the Farmington River and local farmlands, with 10K and 5K race distance options.. $12 - $66
June 1: Norfolk
Dragon Boat Festival, The Connecticut-Asia Cultural Center, 207A Westside Road, Norfolk, Activities include the Chinese Dragon Dance, several dragon boat racing activities for kids, arts and crafts for kids and photo opportunities in the ‘Wooden Dragon’ constructed in Tawian. Complimentary traditional Dragon Boat Festival Vegetarian Food will be served from 12-1PM. All activities are complimentary. 11-3pm , Free Admission & Free Parking
June 1: Wethersfield
Wethersfield Fireworks at Cove Park , 60 State Street, Wethersfield. Kick off the summer with the oldest town in Connecticut! Come with your family, friends, and neighbors to the beautiful Cove Park. Bring your chairs and blankets to enjoy a family friendly night in Wethersfield’s historic district. FREE, 5pm – 9:45pm
June 2: Old Saybrook
6th Annual Old Saybrook Car Show, 255 Middlesex Turnpike , Old Saybrook. Car enthusiasts of all ages are invited to experience the thrill of classic cars, hot rods, and especially sports cars! Admission is free for all attendees, making it the perfect outing for families and car aficionados alike. Car registration $10 day of event. Free for spectators. Sun. 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Free Outdoor Movie Night Showing Encanto, Lyman Orchards Apple Barrel Farm Market, 32 Reeds Gap Road , Middlefield. It’s Outdoor Movie Night at the Apple Barrel Farm Market! Join us for an 8:15pm showing of Disney’s animated blockbuster movie “Encanto” on Friday, June 7th. This event is FREE and open to the public. Arrive at 7:30pm, movie starts around 8:15pm

Catherine’s Butterfly Party – FREE family festival with mega adoption, Fairfield Hills, 3 Primrose Street, Newtown. This FREE family festival with super pet adoption event welcomes thousands every year and features over 200 adoptable animals from 31 animal rescue groups, live ambassador wildlife presentations, k-9 demonstrations, vendors, local artisans, food trucks, live music, face painting, entertainment & endless FREE activities for kids! 12-4pm, FREE
June 12-14: Hartford
Birthday Bash, Connecticut Science Center, 250 Columbus Boulevard, Hartford. The whole family will love the Birthday activities on our plaza, including a moon bounce, carnival game, LIVE science demonstrations, and party favors for the kids.

Heroes’ Day & Fireworks Celebration, Veteran’s Memorial Park, 68 Ashland Street, Jewett CityThis is an appreciation event for those who dedicate their lives for others. Our goal is to connect “local Heroes’” with families. Focused on First Responders, Military (Veterans’ & Active,) Healthcare, Police & Corrections. The Wing Ding Parade, CT Beardsley Zoo, 1875 Noble Ave, Bridgeport. A fun day for the whole family, join us for the Wing Ding Parade, music and other fun festivities, FREE zoo entry included. 9am

Discovering Amistad Open House in New London, 27 Water Street, New London. Discovering Amistad is offering tours of the Amistad ship. Visit Mystic Seaport and learn from our education team about how the ship was built, the story of the Amistad Rebellion, and how we use the vessel today. 4pm / FREE
