Northshore Home Builders Association: Jenny Dexter
MEET JENNY DEXTER: LEADING THE WAY AT NHBA
“My involvement with the Northshore Home Builders Association (NHBA) goes back twenty years, which is why I was excited to take over when given the opportunity,” said Jenny Dexter, the new Executive Officer. With roots in St. Tammany Parish and a background in Psychology from the University of New Orleans and a master’s degree from the University of South Alabama, Jenny brings extensive experience in the non-profit sector. Her time at the Northshore Housing Initiative and serving as legislative assistant to Representative DuBuisson, provided valuable skills for the HBA.
HOW HAS THE TRANSITION TO THE NEW ROLE BEEN?
The transition has been remarkably smooth, thanks to the warm support of my predecessor Amy, our board of directors and members. Spring is such a busy time of year with the Crawfish Boil, Parade of Homes, and Raising the Roof for Charity events. Thankfully, volunteer committees and the office staff work as a team to host successful events.
WHAT DOES THE FUTURE LOOK LIKE?
As Executive Officer, I aim to foster an active membership while increasing engagement at state and national levels. While we prioritize opposing moratoriums and focusing on local home affordability, these issues remain top priorities in Washington DC. Our purpose is to promote and protect the American dream of homeownership.
With her experience, community ties, and ambitious vision, Jenny Dexter is poised to elevate the Northshore Home Builders Association.
