It’s almost the most wonderful time of the year and the ambience t INAANIAH Limited is the epitome of Christmas. As we begin to really enjoy the most wonderful time of the year, it was an experience that had commenced at INAANIAH Limited, long before many
had even begun to dream about Christmas 2015. Whilst our readers enjoyed the elements of Summer, INAANIAH Limited had already begun sourcing the best venues, materials and designing festive projects for Christmas 2016. Yes! 2016! Why? Because the best goes first and we aim to deliver the best every time. Attention to detail has never been so true to form and in 2016 INAANIAH Limited will continue to lead by example. Continuing to engage in new and innovative technology, we are designing new ground breaking concepts that will enable us to expand the services we offer to our continuously growing client base.
Your feedback is important to us and whilst we excel in delivering ‘Passion Styled Divine Creations and Making Reality of your Imagination’, we acknowledge the importance of keeping the client involved in an everchanging events scene; as it helps us to shape the service we deliver. Therefore, throughout January and February 2016, we shall place a link on our website, to a survey, enabling our readers to express their views, pertaining to critical topics INAANIAH Limited have identified within the events scene. Micro-Events INAANIAH Limited is accustomed to delivering mega events, which requires copious organising and the 4

Although your Christmas day event may not be on the scale of a mega event, it still requires several skills and methods to ensure the day is a success. If you’re feeling the pressure of the big day INAANIAH Limited is here to help ease your pressure. Although at the time of this newsmail publication, we would have a full diary of micro-events Dinning Out During Party Season Dinning out during party season for most, is imperative! If this is you, do you know the Wine Code? If not, no need to panic, ‘The Wine Code by INAANIAH Limited’ will guide you and inform you; on everything you need to know, about serving, tasting, sipping, pouring and holding the glass. The consumption of wine is an affluent experience rooted in elegance and to help ensure, you enjoy the most of it’s experience INAANIAH Limited has prepared a guide to help you enjoy the
experience as intended whilst avoiding the faux pas. Dining out has the advantages of being waited on, various menus and ease of preparation other than that of ones self, to name but a few. Dinning out also has the disadvantage enjoying your guest complementing the wonderful essence of your cooking as it fills the house complementing the festive ambience, not having the satisfaction of receiving compliments to the chef and the bonding time that is somehow magically unavoidable at the most wonderful time of the year and which is where the best memories are made and so on. Festive Fun Many would agree, Christmas is not complete without a traditional Christmas carol or an enjoyable Christmas song and whilst the Christmas card may or may not be dying a slow death; one thing that is around and
would appear pretty much here to stay, is a good ole festive song or carol; View pages 5 & 6 for the lyrics of INAANIAH Limited’s 2016 Christmas favourites and spread festive cheer this season. Oh Christmas Tree! If you’re considering whether or not to change your Christmas tree this year, page 17 of this ‘Christmas Edition 2015,’ offers a guide on size, type, natural, silk, economical and sustainable factors. There are many pros and cons of having a synthetic tree and vice versa with a real tree. WINE FAUX PAS
How To Avoid A Wine Faux Pas? This Christmas, many people will be consuming wine in it’s vast quantities. There is a fine art to drinking wine and INAANIAH Limited has collated the most popular blunders in wine consumption, to help our readers acknowledge and respect the wine code as well as impress their guests and colleagues during this festive party season: Never serve red wine cold. It should not be stored in the fridge.
like a top up first and pour their glass first before pouring yours.
Refrain from drinking from the bottle, not only for obvious hygiene reasons but is will be deemed unclassy.
Wine is not served with a slice of lemon and asking for one could cause embarrassment for your and your company and ruin the experience.
A corkscrew should not be used for wine bottles with a screw cap. Wine glasses should not be served from or accepted with lipstick stains on. Red and white wine should not be served with ice. Wine should be served in and consumed from the appropriate wine glass and not in a tumbler. (Please refer to page 3 of this ‘Wine Code’ for further reading)
Refrain from complaining the red wine is not cold. Red wine is served at ambient temperature. When requesting your wine, the ‘t’ should not be pronounced in Pinot Noir and Merlot. It is grossly distasteful to take home the bottle you have brought to an occasion because it hadn’t been opened.
It is unnecessary to shake a bottle of red before serving or at any other time. It is inappropriate to attend an occasion without a bottle of wine but consuming everyone else’s. It is a faux pas to request the waiter pours extra wine , only intended for a taster. You should always ask others at the table if they’d 3
WINE RITUALS
The Ritualistic Art of Drinking Wine in a Restaurant §
Upon the wines arrival at the consumer’s table, they will ensure it’s the bottle and vintage they ordered.
§
The server should remove the capsule and wipe the top of the cork.
§
The cork is then given to the consumer who ordered the wine; who will elegantly sniff it to ascertain its quality. This can be the first indication if something is wrong with the wine.
§
The consumer will check the cork for mould or a vinegar scent. If mould is present, it doesn’t necessarily mean the wine itself is mouldy. However, if a vinegary scent is present, it may be an indication, the wine has been tampered with in transit from the winery to consumer. N.B Most restaurants will gracefully accept back bad wine.
§
The consumer who ordered will be poured a small amount of wine for tasting before drinking.
§
The consumer should give it a ‘small sip’.
§
If the wine is ‘bad’ the consumer will send it back. corkscrew sniff test will have indicated this.
The
N.B: Try not to be overly hypercritical! §
Arcane Ritual: The consumer should then elegantly swirl the glass to release the smell of the wine, important to enjoy the experience: Swirl, sniff, sip.
§
Pending the consumer’s satisfaction, the glass of wine will now be poured in accordance with the desired measurements.

wine glass should be pinched at the stem in order not to alter the temperature of the wine. Red Wine Larger wine glasses are designed for red wine as the wider circumference enables increased exposure to the air, encouraging the deeper and more complex flavours of red wine to develop greatly.
narrower glass with a smaller surface area and warm the wine. The undesirable effect of presenting white wine in a glass intended for red will dramatically change the experience and could be considered a ‘Wine Faux Pas’ (for further reading, refer to page 2 of this ‘Wine Code’) as white should be served and enjoyed cold.
The oxidisation process accentuates the aromas even following the decanting process and as red wine is served at warmer temperatures it needs less concentration. White Wine Slimmer narrow bowl wine glasses are used to present white wine. The reason is very valid as white wine consists of delicate and lighter fragrances that do not require the great exposure to air red wine does. The larger bowl of a red wine glass has an adverse effect on white wine as the wider surface area exposes the wine to more air, which will disperse bubbles quicker than if served in a

Once Upon a time not sending a Christmas card would be unheard of. People would select their cards as they do their presents, with care and attention, as it is an integral part of Christmas festivities; just as the turkey, its trimmings, Decorations, mince pies, stollen and traditional Christmas pudding. The first commercial Christmas card was invented by Sir Henry Cole in 1843 and sold for 1 shilling. Cole, was an inventor and civil servant whom worked for Royal Mail; where he assisted Rowland Hill until 1840. In addition to devising the concept of sending greetings cards at Christmas time, Cole played a integral role in the introduction of the Penny Post. He is also credited with the design of the world's first postage stamp, the Penny Black. In recent times economic and sustainable factors threaten the existence and legacy of the Christmas card. People are increasingly neglecting the tradition for, sending emails, social media messages or e-cards or for incentives, that encourage individuals to donate the money they would have spent buying Christmas
cards, to a charitable cause. It is apparent, the advantages of some incentives adversely affect others and vice versa. Individuals who choose to donate rather than purchase and send; are able to be flexible with their contribution and the option also reduces the impact, card production has on the environment. However plausible this intention may be, it is not without its controversy. Research demonstrates charity card sales have plummeted and temporary shops set-up in churches and vacant premises have fallen by 20% in recent years. In light of this trend, a representative for the ‘Benefit of Charities Advisory Trusts Card Aid’, fears within the next 10 years, the Christmas card will be consigned to history. This will be particularly challenging news, for charities that donate 100% of their cards profits and for those it is intended for. Economic and social factors accused of killing the 172year-old tradition are the rising cost of first class stamps and electronic cards.
Charities Advisory Trust’, presented a business case that would enable the national mailing system to reduce the cost of mailing Christmas cards, by introducing a system like the ‘Charity Card Stamp’ system operated in the Netherlands. However, their business case was rejected. Surveys conducted by INAANIAH limited, demonstrate consumers are less engaged with the design and content, of the modern day card, culpable for an increasingly fragmented market, nourished by a generation who prefer social media platforms to spread their festive cheer. Should you decide to stick with tradition, INAANIAH Limited encourage you to dispose of your Christmas cards responsibly and therefore, recycle them post the festive season, at one of the recycle stations usually positioned throughout the borough by local authorities and inside some supermarkets.
In a bid to protect the tradition and charitable income source, ‘The

Bring to the boil, stir, then immediately turn off the heat. Cover and leave the fruit to macerate in the rum either overnight or up to 2 days, stirring from time to time. Preheat the oven to 160oc/325oF/ gas mark 3. Grease and line a 25cm (10in) round cake tin with a double layer of greaseproof paper. Cream together the butter and sugar in a large bowl until pale, then beat in the eggs a little at a time, adding 1 tsp. the flour after each addition until smooth and creamy. Beat in the remaining flour. Stir in the almonds, spice and vanilla extract followed by the fruit. Mix well, adding a couple of spoonful's of rum if the mixture is too stiff – it should easily fall off the back of the spoon but should not be too runny. Spoon the mixture into the pre-prepared tin, cover loosely with foil and bake for about 2 hours. Remove the foil 30 minutes before the end of cooking time. The cake is ready when a skewer inserted into the Centre comes out clean. While the cake is still warm, make holes all over it with a skewer and pour over the 4tsp rum. Leave to cool in the tin overnight, then turn the cake out. Decorate and serve immediately or wrap in foil and keep for up to 1 week before decorating. To decorate, heat the apricot jam and rum until they are mixed together, then brush some of this glaze on to the surface of the cake. Arrange the topping on the cake, either in circles or rows. Brush the fruit very generously with the rest of the glaze, so that the top is shiny. Leave to cool and store in a tin in a dark place. Eat within
