NEWS FROM
Your LBC
MAY 2021 Dear Friends of Luther Burbank Center, We are encouraged by the recent news that the State of California plans for a full reopening on June 15. We remain cautiously optimistic about this goal, and are preparing for what a “return to normal” might look like for the LBC. While we cannot wait to welcome you back, our number one priority is for the safety of our visitors, performers, volunteers, and staff. Our team is developing protocols for reopening based on guidance from the state and local governments. Our team is participating in professional certification and training protocols so when we do reopen everyone will feel comfortable returning to the Center. As a nonprofit arts organization, it is not financially feasible to have performances in the main theater until we are able to operate at full capacity. As we navigate these new challenges, we’re working with artists and their management on our future lineup. All of our largescale performance events through July 31 have been postponed, cancelled, or rescheduled; our first mainstage presentation, at this time, is scheduled for August. As reopening plans develop, we will communicate to the community through our website, email, and social media channels. In the meantime, you can continue to access our virtual programs — Luther Locals, The Muse Hour, free Clover Sonoma Family Fun Series and Let’s Be Creative with LBC! — on our website and social media. Or, enjoy a movie outside on the big screen with your family at the popular Carpool Cinemas. Thank you for your continued support. We could not do this without you.
