what is a
Lifebuilder?
A Lifebuilder helps Lifenet Texas further our mission to rebuild lives. It is an important, rewarding and humbling responsibility. Lifebuilders operate as a team. We make a difference by linking the talents and gifts of each one of us to better serve those in need. And together, as we rebuild the life of each individual, we see a real, positive impact on our local community. A Lifebuilder makes a difference by choosing to serve, send or share in support of Lifenet’s mission. What does this mean? We can’t wait to tell you more. Thank you for joining us today.
we’re grateful for support
We appreciate the generous support received from our breakfast partners. Brookhaven Country Club, Studio 49 Media House, Frost Bank, Teknion, BDO, The Bridge Homeless Shelter and other partners, who are featured on the program insert, made a financial contribution that helped us cover all costs related to this year’s breakfast.
We are now able to direct all donations to our work and as a result, care for more people in need. Thank you to our Lifebuilders!

Madison Dolph
Empowering youth in our community Lifenet’s Young Minds program launched in 2012 in response to a growing need to support children and teens in our North Texas community who suffer from a mental disorder. Madison Dolph, QMHP, and Lifenet’s Young Minds team, conducts one-on-one sessions, skills training and after-hours groups to support the outpatient mental health needs of children between the ages of 4-17 who live in our community.
YOUNG MINDS
Dr. Leslie Coburn Partnering to rebuild lives
Dr. Coburn has devoted her entire professional career to helping children faced with severe emotional challenges who live in the Dallas community. She holds a doctorate in special education with an emphasis in children’s behavior disorders from the University of North Texas (UNT) and has served as an adjunct professor for UNT’s Department of Educational Psychology since 1993. Now, as the principal of Pathfinder Achievement Center, a part of the Garland ISD, Dr. Coburn serves as a Lifebuilder to youth in east Dallas and an important referral source for Lifenet’s Young Minds program.
the Becerra Family Finding the power to choose life
The Becerra family relocated to Garland, Texas from California in 2004 with a goal to raise their family in a safer neighborhood and supportive academic environment. However, soon after their move, the family faced a tragic loss. Faced with a future full of doubt, they struggled through grief and severe depression. The sadness paralyzed their lives. The Becerra family began to fall apart. Then, on one critial day in 2012, the Becerra family reached a crossroads. Faced with a life-changing decision, this desperate family found the power to choose life. And with it, they made the choice to seek help, leading them to Lifenet Texas where they met our Lifebuilders who helped them rebuild their lives - together and as a family. For the 2014 Lifebuilders Community Breakfast, we are honored to introduce you to Rosa Becerra and her 16 year old daughter Danielle. They are an inspiration and one of the many reasons why Lifenet Texas exists. Together, we’re rebuilding lives. 2014
how you can help Our Lifebuilders support Lifenet Texas by serving, sending and sharing. Lifebuilders serve as a volunteer in areas that matter to them, such as feeding the hungry at The Lifebuilders Meal or collecting coats during our annual Share the Warmth campaign. If you’re interested in a new career, consider Lifenet as a place to apply your unique skills. And we’re always interested in meeting people who want to serve as a board member. Lifebuilders send information on to people they know and in the process, educate on important social issues such as homelessness and mental disorders. Lifebuilders also send referrals to Lifenet. This allows us to connect with more people in need.
