E A SA NCs GUIDE EASA_Network Promotion EASA is an expanding dynamic network of students. EASA relies on everybody contributing, from main organizers through NCs right down to each and every participant. As NC, It is your job to promote EASA – not just the summer assembly, but also any another smaller events, competitions, and any EASA literature – in your country. Current NCs promote EASA in a variety of ways, from giving presentations, holding EASA exhibitions, to more media based promotion. For example, publishing articles for national architecture and design magazines, posting on blogs, and requesting links to EASA on school of architecture websites among other possibilities. But, ultimately, how you promote EASA is each NC’s choice and making. The blog is a great way to keep informed on current EASA issues. Check it out at http://easa.antville. org National Platform EASA, as a platform and network, has the potential to be not only active on a European scale, but also at national level. Several countries have established EASA national organizations. It is a good way to raise sponsorship – either from the college or private sponsorship – to subsidize the participant’s fee and, if your lucky, travel expenses!
EASA_Summer Assembly Applications Choosing participants and assembling a team is one of the most important tasks for NCs. It’s a good idea to keep the team fresh by bringing new members through each European Architecture Students Assembly
year. Encourage participants who have attended an EASA before to tutor a workshop at their next EASA. Different countries have different approaches depending on factors such as size, activity, number of interested students, etc. Having a competition, be it anonymous or not, is a good way to filter out people who are not fully intent on going. A letter of motivation is also another idea to make sure that, as NC, you are bringing the best participants that you can attract. If you don’t know them already, it is a good idea to meet, or interview, all your potential participants. Contact the organizers to sort your team out with some free visas if you need them. Payment Payment is made each year to the organizers through the NCs. One payment per country is more manageable and more economical for both the NC and the organizers. At EASA NCs play a vital role by passing on information received at NC Meetings. NC meetings occur several times during the assembly and good attendance is greatly appreciated by the organizers! Each country contributes to EASA by doing some, but not a lot of duties during the event. Please, make sure that your team shows up on time, and does them. Every little helps! Look after the well being of your team, and make sure that they are integrating well and having fun! National evening is a great chance to represent your country, express yourself, and a lot of fun also! People bring information on their country and their country’s architecture, some national food, drink, music, film, costume, whatever!
