Immigrant Evangelical Churches in Europe and Social Integration: Mapping the phenomenon ETF’s Department of Religious Studies and Missiology is pleased to present this stimulating lecture for theology students, people involved in immigrant churches, elders, pastors and other church leaders of established Protestant and Evangelical churches. Presented by Dr. Sébastien Fath, with an introduction by Prof. Dr. Pieter Boersema, the lecture will be given in English (no translation) with an opportunity for participant interaction. Many new immigrant evangelical churches have appeared in Europe in the past few decades. What does this mean for the established churches? How are these newcomers assimilated? How do the existing local churches deal with this phenomenon? Dr. Sébastien Fath will introduce you to the dynamic world of these new faith communities.
Dr. Sébastien Fath Sébastien FATH (PhD in History at the Sorbonne University) is a specialist in the study of Evangelical Protestantism, an author of fifteen books, a permanent researcher at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and also full member of the GSRL (Groupe Sociétés, Religions, Laïcités), a research team working on religion and secularism. As a social scientist, he focuses on the cross-cultural reflection of Civil Society, Politics and Religion.
