Elements Fitness Studio in East Hampton will host a special jewelry trunk show on Friday from 9 AM to noon featuring Same Sky – Jewelry with Purpose. Same Sky features jewelry crafted by artisan women of Rwanda. Same Sky is a trade initiative that works to create employment opportunities for women struggling to lift themselves out of extreme poverty. With collectives based in Rwanda and the USA, Same Sky sees firsthand that real change happens with the dignity of work and the freedom of being self-sufficient. They tap into the Same Sky Artisans’ talent and potential and provide them with training and tools. The Rwandan artisans earn 15 to 20 times the average wage in Sub Saharan Africa, and 100 percent of net proceeds are reinvested to train and employ more artisans in need. The true value of a Same Sky bracelet is empowerment. It is a ribbon that ties you to courageous women a world away—a beautiful piece of jewelry made more beautiful by the connection it symbolizes and how it makes you feel. All proceeds from the trunk show will go directly back to Same Sky to benefit the cause.

On Friday morning I set out to try Elements Fitness Studio’s newest offering -- Standup Paddle Barre Fitness. Owner and founder Andrea Fornarola Hunsberger has collaborated with paddleboard guru and fitness expert Jon Ball to create a series of unique paddle barre and fitness classes that are available this summer. The paddle took place at 1 Landing Land in Springs, where I participated in Elements SUP Style & SUP Tech to introduce me to the sport of SUP and prepare me for the more advanced
SUP classes. To take a class you will need to be comfortable in the water and know how to swim, although you do not need to know how to paddle, the instructors will adjust the class to each level of the participants. The more advanced paddler might choose the Elements Paddle Fit Class or Elements SUP Barre which are also available. The class provided a fantastic fitness experience in a beautiful setting. To sign up for classes, visit www. elementsfitnessstudio.com.
Andrea Fornarola Hunsberger of Elements Fitness Studio is bringing the barre to the beach in Montauk with a pop up barre fitness class at Gurney’s on Saturday at 10 AM and 11 AM. Developed by Andrea Fornarola Hunsberger, Element Fitness barre is a Lotte Berk inspired method that fuses isometric exercises and interval training with ballet conditioning, the principles of Pilates core work and yoga stretches. Considered by many to be the foundation of functional training, Elements Barre Fitness is a 60 minute strength building and toning class. This class utilizes a series of choreographed exercises linking ballet conditioning and the principles of muscle overload to increase the metabolic rate and melt away fat. The class is open to guests of Gurney’s Montauk as well as the public. The fee for each class is $36. For more details on the pop up class go to https:// elementsatgurneys.splashthat.com.

The Bay Street Shakespeare Initiative and Hamptons Shakespeare Festival presented a VIP outdoor concert reading of Twelfth Night, Or What You Will by William Shakespeare at a private home, hosted by Patty and Jay Baker. The cast included Piper Perabo ("Covert Affairs") who starred as Viola. Patrons were treated to a delicious dinner prepared by Owner/Chef Todd Jacobs from Fresh Hamptons in Bridgehampton.
Bill Clinton, looking casual in a Hawaiian shirt, dined Thursday evening at Indian Wells Tavern in Amagansett with a party of 14. The group included family, staff, and friends, while Secret Service was seated at the table next to them. President Clinton ate vegetarian -- noshing on corn, spinach, and chips and guacamole paired with iced tea. The former president was very gracious as people approached him for photos. Word of his recent birthday spread, so the entire restaurant serenaded Mr. Clinton with "Happy Birthday" as dessert arrived. Appreciative of the service, the former president posed for photos with the entire staff, from dishwasher to owner.

New To Theaters
Z For Zachariah (PG-13) A woman who thinks she is the last woman alive on earth is thrilled to run into a man (played by Chiwetel Ejiofor), though he is half-crazed from nuclear exposure. It’s a star making vehicle for Margot Robbie (The Wolf Of Wall Street) and she delivers, transforming what could have been a cliché-ridden Sci-Fi romp into something much more. Chris Pine also stars. This is a surprisingly subtle take on survival that is well worth watching. Put Robbie on the list for possible Best Actress Oscar nominations.
Coming Soon
A Walk In The Woods (R ) A newly retired senior citizen (Robert Redford) leaves his comfortable life and comely wife (Emma Thompson) to hike the Appalachian Trail. When an old friend (Nick Nolte) pops up along the way, the quiet solitude is shattered. The success of this film depends on two things: believing this is a buddy movie, and laughing at the so-called humorous banter. Let’s put it this way – the two old pros do their best.
New On DVD
She’s Funny That Way No she’s not. Peter Bogdanovich’s comeback film is so awful everyone involved goes down with the ship, especially Jennifer Aniston and the usually reliable Owen Wilson. Just say no.
Now Playing Grandma (R ) The great Lily Tomlin once again proves her acting
chops playing a grandmother, fresh off a breakup, who must help her granddaughter raise $600 before sundown. What appears to be a breezy comedy evolves into an emotionally-packed, stunning film. Write it down: Tomlin not only gets a Best Actress Oscar nomination, but becomes the odds-on favorite. Paul Wietz (Antz, About A Boy) wrote the screenplay and directs. The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (PG-13) Why, oh, why must we continually recycle these TV shows? The time around Henry Cavill (Superman) is Napolean Solo and Armie Hammer (The Social Network) plays Illya Kuryakin. It’s a Guy Ritchie film, so expect action and violence. Insurgent (PG-13) Shailene Woodley gives her all, she really does. But when you get a script this ridiculous, it takes a true Divergent to sit through it, which is why God made the pause button. Use it often. Shaun The Sheep (PG) When Shaun decides to take off, the sheep runs into more excitement than Ferris Bueller could have possibly imagined. Brilliant animation and a hilarious script make this film a must-see for the younger set and the young at heart. Don’t miss it. Mistress America (R) Greta Gerwig co-wrote and co-stars, and Noah Baumbach directs this follow-up to Frances Ha and once again the pair proves you don’t need a big budget or a big studio to make a great movie. Lola Kirke stars as a lonely freshman in New York City who meets up with an adventurous gal (Gerwig) with all kinds of schemes.

North Sea Tavern & Raw’r Bar
New Lower East Side transplant Black Tree has brough their edginess to Southampton with the launch of new restaurant North Sea Tavern & Raw’r Bar, an innovative and sustainable seafood joint that opened its doors on August 7. The team behind the new concept includes co-owner and Executive Chef Sandy Dee Hall, along with coowners Jon Pirozzi (who also co-owns Stone Creek Bar in Manhattan) and Cletus McKeown (who manages the event space The Wooly in FiDi). The restaurant plans to embrace local farmers and fisherman and offers a sustainable seafood menu that will be modified daily based on market
availability, keeping items fresh and new each week. Launching the expansive space with 80 seats and plenty of room indoors with a front and back patio, the new restaurant is a great location to enjoy the beautiful weather during the summer. The restaurant is offering a hot new $1 oyster happy hour beginning at 4 PM, and a picnic basket delivery service to bring delicious food to your doorstop or beach blanket. The seasonal menu will focus on light seafood and a raw bar in the summer and will evolve to become more rustic and heartier in the fall for year-round patrons.

Cuvée Bistro & Bar
After 15 years in the magical Village
of Greenport, Cuvée Bistro & Bar in Greenport bids a final farewell to the community with a heavy heart today through Monday, September 7, when they will complete their closing dinner service. The restaurant will remain open to their cherished neighbors for those wishing to celebrate merry milestones and host private events. Owner Deborah Pittorino emphasizes, “Owning and operating the restaurant in this community has been an incredible experience in a place where we not only built our business but also developed the most wonderful friendships. Over the years we have watched our customers get married, have children, build businesses, celebrate anniversaries, birthdays and so many other celebrations. We do still

A special thanks to farm stands County View, Sep’s and Lathams as well as to oyster farmer Karen Rivera at Peconic Pearls along with the many other vendors with whom they worked over the years. The restaurant invites those who have dined at Cuvee Bistro & Bar throughout the years, to please join them between now and September 7 to savor those signature dishes they hold close to the heart. They also hope to see their valued friends and guests before they close so they may enjoy a proper send off. For those who never dined at Cuvee Bistro & Bar before, the couple hopes they will stop by for a special culinary experience before they turn off the lights one last time. Both Deborah and Bill Pittorino wish to thank the community for their friendship, patronage, love and support. hope to celebrate with our community for years to come. I’m filled with infinite gratitude for these special friendships and value them even more at this time.” The beloved restaurant will be closing due to a family health issue. Deborah’s husband, Bill Pittorino, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last summer and throughout the year has been on a difficult journey as he has undergone surgeries and a myriad of treatments. Most recently, he began a new round of chemotherapy at Memorial Sloan Kettering and will also be participating in some studies at a few other hospitals around the U.S. as they seek additional opinions. The couple has been faced with many difficult decisions during this trying time and has been forced to assess what is best for their family. They regret that they will have to close their highly regarded restaurant, Cuvee Bistro & Bar, for regular restaurant service as their schedules must remain clear to pursue the best healthcare accessible anywhere in the U.S. The hotel will remain open 365 days a year and will move forward with the enduringly capable team, as all key employees will remain in place. They are excited for the future as they take the reins of the core business of lodging, conference planning and event coordination to the next level. They also wish to extend a most heartfelt thank you to their partner vineyards, especially Richard Olsen and the team at Bedell Cellars and Joann D’Angelo and the Petrocelli family at Raphael Vineyards who supported them so fervently throughout the years. In addition, they are extremely grateful to all of the local friends who celebrated so many special moments and to
