Gallery Walk Deadline for submissions is Thursday at noon. Email to jessica@indyeastend. com. Kevin Teare Kevin Teare, a visual artist and a musician, combines the two disciplines in his most recent work. Teare lives and works in Sag Harbor. The show runs through September 29. Robert Motherwell Guild Hall in East Hampton presents a gallery talk on Robert Motherwell by guest curator Phyllis Tuchman on Sunday at noon. When Robert Motherwell was in his seventies and looking back at the period when he lived in East Hampton, he recalled, “I did my best work there.” In this spirit, organizers will call attention to Motherwell’s early work and explore the contributions that Mother well made to the Abstract Expressionist movement in the context of the East End artist’s community. While in East Hampton, Motherwell lived and worked in a house and studio designed by Pierre Chareau, the inimitable French architect. A show devoted to the paintings Motherwell made during those remarkable years has never been mounted. Focusing on two dozen important works from 17 major museums and five private collections, Robert Motherwell: The East Hampton Years, 1944-1952 will surprise even those who think they know this pioneering American abstractionist’s art well. Horoscope by Kate Plumb
Week of September 3 -9 Read your rising sign if you know it; or any other sign, as each of us has Aries, Taurus etc. someplace in our charts governing some aspect of our lives. ARIES (March 21-April 20) – The first quarter moon was yesterday so you ought to be well on your way in your new job, health regime or care giving role; hopefully it has a holistic approach (integration of body, mind and spirit). The Full Moon is Monday night when affairs of the month come to a head. You will know then if what you started last week at the New Moon is going to last. TAURUS (April 20-May 20) – You are in between the New Moon (Aug 25), new beginnings and the Full Moon Monday night, when the beginnings culminate. The Moon is waxing -- getting bigger, swelling -- and so will you. Your ruler Venus moves into Virgo Friday at noon, where details become important. It would be a good time to take up a craft and teach it to your child. GEMINI (May 20-June 21) – Your ruler Mercury just entered Libra, which has you thinking about relationships, especially with your children or boyfriends. You are between the New Moon from the 25th and the Full Moon Monday night, so matters are swelling, just like the Moon. Full Moons bring underlying issues out to be exposed and dealt with. Your home life or how you feel about yourself and your career sector or reputation will be vying for dominance. If you feel slighted, misunderstood, or wounded, then just know that the situation is not healthy enough for you on all levels and you must take a broader viewpoint. CANCER (June 21-July 20) – Watch your determination and feelings combine on Thursday noontime to really help you get focused on what you want to accomplish. You will still be serious this weekend until the Moon moves into Pisces Sunday evening, getting ready to come to Full opposite the Sun in Virgo on Monday evening. Full Moons make us aware of something we had not seen before. This time it might be rather painful. Change your perspective to see what the right thing to do for everyone involved is. LEO (July 20-Aug. 21) - As the week begins, your ruler the Sun meets Jupiter the optimist and powerhouse Pluto. You feel mightily empowered, ready to accomplish anything. The Full Harvest Moon Monday night has you at loggerheads, wanting to express your innovative and creative side but also having unfounded financial or self esteem anxieties. Keep being the optimist, we need your sunny side. VIRGO (Aug. 21-Sept. 21) – This week bridges the New and Full Moons. The New Moon in Virgo on the 25th began a new personal cycle for you where the focus is on your appearance and identity. The Full Moon Monday night brings someone else into
the picture. Maybe your new persona threatened the status quo with your partner and he/she is hurt. Venus moves into Virgo at noon on Friday. Your diplomatic skills, not your critical skills, will come into play and you will be able to handle what comes up at the Full Moon. LIBRA (Sept. 21-Oct. 20) – As we move from the New Moon into the Full Moon Monday night, you will feel a shift. Mercury just entered Libra yesterday and Venus, your ruler moves into Virgo on Friday noon. Thinking about relationships with more emphasis on your diplomatic skills, would be Mercury and more attention to details would be Venus. Spend time alone this week, take that old knitting project out of the closet and finish it. The Full Moon might bring an unresolved health issue to the surface to be dealt with. SCORPIO (Oct. 20-Nov. 21) – You are the long-suffering sign these days for sure. Sunday brings your ruler Mars into contact with Pluto, just before the Full Moon on Monday evening. Whatever is still residing deep inside (after all you have been through already), whether it be a physical, mental, or emotional blockage, can be rooted out easily under this aspect. There is a time for everything, the Bible says. Freedom from the past that binds us and keeps us from moving forward has to be dug out and released. SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 21-Dec. 21) – Optimism begins the week, as the Moon is in your sign. Watch Friday where you might want to exceed safe boundaries; make adjustments. Seriousness marks the weekend until Sunday evening, when the Moon moves into Pisces before the Full Moon Monday evening. Chiron the wounded healer is involved with this Full Moon, so it will be evident what has yet to be healed. No pain no gain. CAPRICORN (Dec. 21-Jan 20.) – Saturn your ruler has actually moved into a new degree and will pick up speed this month, moving two degrees. In October it will be four degrees. As Saturn moves ahead, so does the goat as he climbs up the mountain. This week has the Moon in your sign from this evening until Friday evening, so focus is called for. The Full Moon Monday evening will alert you to what dysfunctional thinking patterns you still have or you see around you in others. AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 20) – All the fixed signs are having difficulty these days with Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter in conflict to your Sun. Your frustrations about your career are in contrast to how good it seems to be with your partner. To offset any confusing financial issues that may come up at the Full Moon Monday evening, combine resources with someone else. You are born to belong to a group, not to go it alone. PISCES (Feb. 20-March 21) – This week bridges the New Moon with the Full Moon. As the Moon gets bigger, your vision does as well, encompassing more, until things explode at the Full Moon Monday evening. Loving your partner also means loving yourself -- not in an egotistical way, but by becoming whole. It is said that one cannot truly love another unless he/ she loves him/her self. witness, who is, of course, beautiful (Olka Kurylenko). It’s no coincidence Pierce Brosnan, a former James Bond in the flicks, is cast in the title role as it adds cache to this contrived spy movie. You know the subplots: a mole inside the agency and a former protégé turned bad make things rather difficult. From the best selling novel by Bill Granger.
Coming Soon The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby (R ) And so the Oscar season opens. Jessica Chastain gets an early leg up for a Best Actress nod in Ned Benson’s latest, which is in reality a combination of his two previous films, Him and Her. Chastain and James McAvoy play a married couple trying to regroup after a tragedy rips them apart. It’s emotionally wrenching and the cast, which includes William Hurt and Viola Davis, is superb. New To Theaters The November Man (R ) A retired CIA agent code-named The November Man whose specialty is killing people, is lured out of retirement to protect a
New On DVD Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return It’s a 3D-animated musical bomb. Based on the adventure books by Roger Stanton Baum, the great-grandson of L. Frank Baum, the film shows talent doesn’t always pass from generation to generation – the unfunny dialogue is so amateurish as to be embarrassing -- even the Tin Man blushes – and the songs are awful. Now Playing Starred Up (NR) Like unrelentingly grim prison movies? We’ve got one for ya. When a violent 19-year-old hothead (Jack O’Connell) goes to prison, he finds his volatile, estranged father (Ben Mendelsohn). Needless to say, the kid doesn’t endear himself to his fellow prisoners and all kinds of hell breaks loose. Luckily, a prison psychologist (Rupert Friend) explains to the kid why he’s so screwed up and they all live happily ever after in the big house.

Beyoncé, 1981 As an anxious world waits breathlessly to find out if they are divorcing, Beyoncé and Jay-Z continue to rake in millions on their world tour. Born Beyoncé Giselle Knowles in Houston, it was pretty obvious early on that stardom was her destiny (pun intended). As a child, she competed in and won numerous dancing and singing contests. She won her first talent contest at the age of five, singing “Imagine.” Already mononyumous, Beyoncé and her girl group, Destiny’s Child, managed by her father Mathew Knowles, hit the big time, scoring several worldwide hits and selling 60 million records before splitting for good in 2004. During a hiatus from the group the previous year, Beyoncé released her first solo album Dangerously In Love and it took off, selling 11 million albums and earning five singles. Another hit album followed, and Hollywood came calling; she was given one of the lead roles in Dream Girls, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. In 2008 her album, I Am Sasha Fierce, was another megahit, winning six Grammys including Song Of The Year for “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).” In 2008 Beyoncé married Jay-Z. More than just a rap star, Jay-Z was a music industry mogul, building an empire of acts he produced, managed and/or wrote for. They met when she was featured on Jay-Z’s chartranking song, “03 Bonnie & Clyde,” in 2002. Together, the couple is among the wealthiest on Earth and wields incredible clout in the business. Their daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, was born in 2012. Last year it was first reported that the pair were growing apart. At one point Jay-Z was punched by Beyoncé’s sister Solange in an elevator, the act caught on videotape. It was, as rumor has it, retaliation for Jay-Z’s dalliances. During the world tour that is still going on, the drama seethes in the music they perform together; some insiders say it is all a ploy to sell tickets. Beyoncé says her life changed forever when she saw Michael Jackson perform at the age of five. Other influences are Diana Ross and Whitney Houston.

45 seconds before removing it from the boiling water and submerging it in the ice water, do the same for the bag of spinach. When the vegetables have been cooled in the ice water remove them and strain off any excess water. Now in a blender add the asparagus, spinach, toasted pine nuts, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, Parmesan cheese, and salt and pepper and blend on high for 30 seconds. To cook the pasta boil another large pot of fresh water. Once the water boils, salt the water and cook the pasta for about 10 minutes stirring often. When the pasta is cooked, strain it into a large mixing bowl. In a sauté pan gently heat the pesto and melt the butter in with it. The vegetables should be finished at this point so now you will toss the pasta in 1/2 the pesto sauce. Top the pasta with the roasted vegetables and spoon the rest of the pesto sauce over the top.

His expertise and signature small plates will be an excellent pairing with our wines.” For more information, contact noah’s at 631-477-6720 or visit them online at www.chefnoahs.com.
