Parrish Presents

The annual shopping extravaganza “Parrish Presents” took place at the Parrish Art Museum in Southampton this weekend. A preview cocktail party was held on Friday evening.

The Silas Marder Gallery in Bridgehampton hosted an opening reception for the “Holiday Salon,” a group exhibition that featured painting, sculpture and time based media. Also on view “Architecture of a Bomb,” collaborative site-specific artwork by Ben Butler and Michael Rosch.

America’s oldest teenager, Dick Clark, grew up in Drexel Hill,PA, a neighbor of fellow announcer Ed McMahon.

Clark always loved music, and was a guest host on Bob Horn’s Bandstand, which debuted in 1952. Clark took over the renamed “American Bandstand” and on his first show in 1957 interviewed Elvis Presley. The show ran daily until 1963 and as a weekly until 1987.

Clark created “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” in 1972 and with two exceptions –once when he was recovering from a stroke – he’s hosted ever since.
