TAURUS (Apr. 20 - May 21) If you can take a break, this is the week to do so. Nurturing you and making the time for such things will allow you to rejuvenate and have more to give others in the long run. GEMINI (May 21 - June 22) Follow the energy. There is most likely a more creative solution and answer for things than you may be able to see right now. Try to follow the energy and ‘feel’ what to do next rather than only doing what you ‘have’ to do. CANCER (June 22 - July 23) Time to take charge. I know that may not be your favorite thing, but this week may require you to step up and be the leader. Do not fear additional responsibilities, you can handle it and are probably the perfect person for the job. LEO (July 23 - Aug. 23) Trust your intuition wherever it may lead you. Give special attention to your dreams and see if you can tune in to those hunches and trust that part of yourself. VIRGO (Aug. 23 - Sept. 23) Resist the call to go negative in your own mind and do your best to keep other people’s negativity at bay as well. There is just too much going on to allow yourself to get lost in the negative thoughts. Fear is not your

by Asher Lee ARIES (Mar. 20 - Apr. 20) The glass is half full. Really it is. Take a new look around and see all you do have and all you have accomplished. You run the risk of losing momentum if you get fixated on the disappointments. See if you can change your head around.

friend. LIBRA (Sept. 23 - Oct. 23) Lots of energy and ideas and while your creative juices may be charged up, you may not have the time or energy to get all those good ideas done, or, for some ideas, you may not even be able to start them. Not right now. This is okay; just keep track of them for later. SCORPIO (Oct. 23 - Nov. 22) Humor is always good. Especially right now when things may not feel all put together. We are all funny, so see if you can add humor to any difficult situation and laugh your way through. SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22 - Dec. 21) This week may be about finding new ways to say the things you have said in the past. New and different styles of expressing yourself -- that is the quest. It may not be what you say, but how you say it. CAPRICORN (Dec. 21 - Jan. 20) Best to wait for the clarity, it will come. This may be the week when long-standing unclear things do indeed become clear. Look for those ‘ah ha!’ moments and then make your decisions and choices. AQUARIUS (Jan. 20 - Feb. 19) Change is happening, so why not embrace it? It may not be your preference to have things change, but it is happening and it doesn’t have to be too disruptive. It is a more organic kind of change, so think, “Change is good, change is good!” PISCES (Feb. 19 - Mar. 20) I know how much you like to give to others and make yourself available to them,

A r g u a b l y t h e n a t i o n ’s preeminent sportscaster, Marv Albert is often referred to as “The Voice of the New York Knicks” – he broadcast the team’s games for 37 years. His trademark call “Yes, and it counts!” has become synonymous with a shot going into the basket even after the shooter is fouled. If truth be told, though, Albert is equally adept at reporting most any kind of game – he’s done the play-byplay for six Super Bowls, seven Stanley Cups, Wimbledon tennis, two World Series, and the Kentucky Derby, among many others. Albert’s career was such that he prospered even after a messy, very public arrest – he was accused of biting a woman and forcing her to have sex and eventually pleaded guilty to a lesser charge. Marvin Philip Aufrichtig grew up in Brooklyn – his parents ran a grocery store in Brighton Beach. He went to Syracuse and then NYU and studied public communication, but got his big break while working as a ball boy for his beloved Knicks. If it seems like there is an Albert broadcasting almost every sporting event on the air, it’s because it’s true – Marv’s brothers Steve and Al, his son, Kenny, and his daughter, Denise, are all in the business. Though he has been featured on every major television and radio network in the country, Albert might well have ended up as the Voice of the Whalers (“Yes, and it spouts”) – his first job was as an intern at WLNG radio in Sag Harbor. but this week the energy needs to be kept closer to yourself. Say no when you really don’t have the energy. This is not a time to push yourself. Keep something in reserve. NOTE: If you were born at the end or beginning of a sign, read the sign before or after your birthday. Asher Lee is a professional

be crumbling around them. James Franco, Rogen, and Jonah Hill lead the cast through some tongue-incheek dialogue that is profoundly irrelevant and some scary scenes that actually are scary. At its core the film is a study of the co-dependent male with all the insecurities Rogen wears so proudly on his sleeve. It’s a must-see.

New On DVD Man Of Steel (PG-13) Remember Superman? He’s baaaaa-ack. This time around Henry Cavill plays the title role, but he is really (spoiler alert!) Clark Kent/Superman. It features a formidable cast including Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe and Amy Adams as a bewitching Lois Lane. With its spectacular special effects and absorbing dialogue, this film is destined to become a megablockbuster. Enjoy Hollywood at its big ticket best.

Brooklyn Castle Katie Dellmaggiore’s film about the most unlikely inner city school in Brooklyn, a junior high school that boasts the highest rated chess team in the country. It’s absorbing – add a star if you are a chess aficionado or if you are from Brooklyn (If you’re both you’re probably one of the few people who have seen this).

Kate Bosworth stars along with Katie Aselton, who also directed it (and it shows). Mark Duplass gets the writing credit, if that’s what you want to call it.

Much Ado About Nothing (PG13) Joss Whedon (Cabin In The Woods) takes on The Bard, giving the classic comedy a contemporary spin. As is always the case, Shakespeare aficionados will make up the core audience and will either love or hate it. Amy Acker and Alexia Denisof star. The Kings Of Summer (R) Three friends decide to live off the land and build a house in the wilderness. The darling of Sundance, the film arrives amid much hype and manages by and large to live up to it. There are some bumps, but it is absorbing and multi-faceted – credit first time director Jordan Vogt-Roberts and screenwriter Chris Galletta. Nick Robinson, Gabriel Basso, and Moises Arias co-star. The Hangover Part III (R) It’s really, really, bad, but you already knew that, didn’t you? Black Rock (R) Three incredibly pretty girlfriends reunite for the proverbial quiet weekend away – this one on a remote island off Maine. You’ll never guess what happens – something really bad.

Life Is A Cabaret By Emily Toy

Next week, East Hampton’s Guild Hall will host two evenings of “divine decadence.” Complete with tantalizing dance numbers, boisterous comedy, harmonious melodies and more, “An Eclectic Cabaret” is sure to be a marvelous night out for folks of all ages. The show, brought to us by

O u r Fa b u l o u s Va r i e t y S h o w, will be hosted by the infamous Reverend Ricky Ray, as well as female impersonator and Montauk resident Danny Ximo, perhaps better known for his stage name: “Raffa.” Raffa, originally from Argentina, has been lighting up stages across the East End for five years, starting out in Sag Harbor and eventually exploding onto the Hamptons

scene. “I’m very excited for this show,” Raffa said. “I love the fact that I’m part of this talented group.” Raffa’s routine features him lipsyncing and dancing to everything from the classics of “New York, New York,” and “Life Is A Cabaret,” to contemporary songs from Lady Gaga. His outfits range from Marilyn Monroe’s pink dress from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes to Liza Minnelli’s

cropped flapper ensemble from Cabaret. “I always get a great response during my show,” Raffa said. “The Raffa Show is my baby. It’s not vulgar at all, but is actually a familyfriendly, entertaining experience.” For “An Eclectic Cabaret,” Raffa not only serves as a host, but as a producer and choreographer as well. The show features the OFVS players, dancers from the Arthur Murray Dance Studio, comedians Bryson Turner and Camille Giammarino, and Lisa A. Dabrowski as Mae West. A pre-show will feature the swinging jazz of the Max Feldschuh Quintet. “I’ve got some new numbers, with some back up dancers!” Raffa enthused. “This show is going to be a mix of everything.” “An Eclectic Cabaret” is on June 20 and June 21 at 8 PM at the John Drew Theater at Guild Hall in East Hampton. The pre-show starts at 7:30 PM. The production will benefit Your Day Away, Inc., a local nonprofit organization providing a day of respite and pampering to parents and children with special needs. More information can be found at www.yourdayaway.org. Tickets are available at http:// ofvs.brownpapertickets.com, or at www.ourfabulousvarietyshow.org. They start at $15. “This show is a great opportunity for people to support art,” Raffa opined. “Which is very important.” Emily@indyeastend.com

Roasted Cauliflower & Sweet Corn Soup With Red Pepper & Mango Relish Ingredients (serves 4) 1 head of cauliflower 3 ears or corn 1 onion 1 bay leaf 1tbs curry powder 1 red bell pepper 1 orange 1tbls honey 2 tsp parsley 1 mango salt ground white pepper olive oil

Method Pre-heat an oven to 400 degrees then wrap each ear of corn in aluminum foil. Roast in the oven for 25 minutes. Cut the cauliflower into medium size pieces, toss with 1 tbs olive oil, salt, and curry powder then roast in oven for 20 minutes. Now, while your vegetables cook you have some time to fine dice the

red pepper, mango, and parsley for the relish. Once the vegetables are finished in the oven you will cut the roasted corn kernels from the cob and reserve the cob for the base of the soup. In a large soup pot add onion bay leaf and corn cobs, fill with water and reduce on medium heat for an hour. Once you have a nice corn stock remove the bay leaf and the corn cobs and add the roasted cauliflower and corn kernels make sure to save a few kernels for your relish. Cook for another 15 minutes to soften the cauliflower a bit more, season to your liking then blend with a little bit of honey. To assemble the relish, simply combine the finely diced mango, red pepper, and parsley with some of the roasted corn kernels, orange zest, and some salt and pepper.
