What’s not to love about an entertaining summer read while digging one’s toes into a sandy beach, rocking a tree-shaded hammock, or just chilling at home where the heart resides? Reading takes us to places we might never get to visit in person, spawning a smile, a chuckle, or a pounding heart. I love turning a page and discovering a surprise that I didn’t anticipate when I woke up this morning.
I wrote Forever Dogs to honor all dogs and to help soothe the sorrow of losing them. Page after page, the dogs do the talking, and boy, do they have plenty to say. Who knew dogs were so verbose?
The warm, long days of the season are a perfect time for a fun read, perhaps even one that is by, for, and about dogs. After all, those special months of bright, sizzling days are indeed known as the “dog days of summer”
