2. KEY FINDINGS From 2007 to 2014, EU refrigerating equipment production showed mixed dynamics, finally rising from 6,407 thousand units in 2007 to 6,652 thousand units in 2014. It expanded with a CAGR of +0.5% over the period under review. In value terms, EU refrigerating equipment production reached 8,816 million EUR by 2014. Spain was the largest producer of refrigerating equipment in absolute volumes, with 2,115 thousand units. It was distantly followed by Italy (999 thousand units), Germany (455 thousand units), the United Kingdom (245 thousand units) and Denmark (131 thousand units). From 2007 to 2014, Spain (+6.0%), Germany (+5.8%) and the United Kingdom (+5.1%) had the highest production growth rates. Italy and Denmark displayed negative dynamics. Italy ranked second in EU refrigerating equipment production and trade. In 2014, it exported the lion’s share of its total refrigerating equipment and heat pump output. Of this amount, 11% was supplied to Germany, where Italian refrigerating equipment held a 14% share of total German imports.
