2. KEY FINDINGS From 2007 to 2014, EU tableware production showed a steady decrease in dynamics, falling sharply from 763 million units in 2007 to 240 million units in 2014. It dropped with a CAGR of -15.2% over the period under review. In value terms, EU tableware production reached 215 million EUR in 2014, declining by -2.0% annually. Italy was the largest producer of tableware in value terms (125 million EUR). It was distantly followed by France (39 million EUR), Portugal (16 million EUR) and Germany (13 million EUR). Positive dynamics in tableware production among the main producing countries from 2007 to 2014 were recorded in Italy (+5.7% per year), while for the other three EU leaders (France, Portugal and Germany) the paces of growth were negative. Italy dominated in EU tableware production and trade. In 2014, it exported 45% of its total tableware output. Of this amount, 11% was supplied to France, where Italy’s tableware held a 9% share of total France’s imports.
