KEY FINDINGS From 2007 to 2014, production of reception-incorporated transmission apparatus showed a pattern of steady decrease, falling from 245,822 thousand units in 2007 to 15,895 thousand units in 2014. It dropped with a CAGR of 32.4% over the period under review. In value terms, EU transmission apparatus production decreased to 2,373 million EUR in 2014, falling by 25.1% annually.
The countries with the largest production of transmission apparatus in absolute volumes were Hungary (9,923 thousand units), France (1,999 thousand units), the United Kingdom (127 thousand units) and Denmark (93 thousand units).
Positive dynamics in transmission equipment production among the main producing countries from 2007 to 2014 were recorded in Denmark (+8.5% per year), while for the other three EU leaders (Hungary, France and the UK) the paces of growth were negative.
France ranked second in EU production of reception-incorporating transmission apparatus and ranked third in trade. In 2014, France exported the lion’s share of its total transmission apparatus output. Of this amount, 14% was supplied to Spain, where France’s transmission apparatus held an 8% share of total Spain’s imports.
