The Brief The aim of this project is to Build and Promote the notion of Hybrid Technology entering Formula1. As a growing concern, global warming is still here and is at the back of our minds, but yet only small changes are being made, this being a general concern of my own and many others. I have decided to look into ways Hybrid technology has changed our way of travelling. My next objective is to see how Hybrid technology can be promoted in the world of Formula1 Racing, ďŹ nding that niche in the market and putting Hybrid technology into full swing by 2013. More and more conventional road cars are releasing Hybrid vehicles, for example Toyota is leading the market with their Hybrid Synergy Drive, which produces 74.3mpg. Travelling on our roads is changing, new technologies have allowed us to dismiss the carbon footprint completely. Hybrid technology is now entering the realms of high performance racing machines. I believe this is a very current issue and that hybrid technology is going to remain on our roads and hopefully change Motorsports forever. It will also inuence thousands or even tens of thousands to think more into greener energy. The target audience for this project will be driving enthusiasts who watch Formula1 and who are keen on the green energy and facing the reality of global warming. The Evidence I will require is both primary and secondary research, primary being a two part questionnaire and secondary being websites and statistical information conveying the effect of hybrid vehicles on our roads today, also ďŹ nding the effects that hybrid vehicles have on our current motorist. Once I have collected all the evidence required, I will then discover the angle I will be approaching my project, whether consumers are already aware of Hybrid vehicle technology or not.

Objective & Pupose My proposition is aimed towards Formula1 Racing fans across the globe. The projects aim is to introduce the qualities and notion of Hybrid vehicle technology is Formula1, changing the realms Motorsports for good, also gaining more suporters who stand behind lowering the carbon foot print..

Overall Goal The Goal is to Build awareness of Hybrid vehicle technology on how it plans to enter Formula 1 Racing, create a strategy, which intrigues the audience to not lose interest, but be more excited for the sport, and continue to follow with passion. This being said, I would also like to gain more interest from audiences who do not follow Formula1.

Communication I will be trying to communicate the beneďŹ ts of Hybrid powered vehicles, highlighting that the high-powered machines produce less emissions then your conventional racing vehicle. It will be a game changing experience for the drivers as well as fans. The sport is viewed by millions across the World, this being a positive statement, I believe that building awareness on the notion of Hybrid technology will change the audiences mind to think more greener, by going out and considering to buy a hybrid powered vehicle. So the brand will be inuencing the targeted audience, pointing out that global warming is not going away and this will put the notion into play, which will able everyone to play their part and boosting the awareness of Hybrid Transportation.

Competitors As I’m aware, there are no competitors at the moment, who aim to achieve the same goal as I, but the leading competitors for hybrid powered Vehicles (road use only) are Toyota, they are leading the market with their superb range of vehicles. Miles per gallon Toyota are in their own league, as their vehicles can get 74.3mpg, where the next best is 42.6mpg from Land Rover. The way my project differs from what is already out there, is simply the fact that hybrid has not fully entered the realms of Formula1. The Formula1 cars have a system fitted on the vehicles, known as KERS, which is a electric boost which allows the driver to unleash an extra 80bhp to help aid the driver to overtake. This is very similar in the sense of hybrid technology, but I aim to build awareness that someday soon, we will see either fully or semi finely tuned hybrid engines. The competitors at the moment are Toyota, Nissan and Ford. These are the manufactures that are currently producing hybrid road ready cars. Hybrid Car Engines are combined with two forms of power, one being petrol (conventional engine), the other being an Electric motor which sits alongside the petrol engine. Both Engines working together allow the vehicle to release lower Co2 emissions, and help make the vehicle more fuel-efficient.

The Audience The targeted audience for this project is mainly new and existing Formula1 fans. Audiences who don’t see driving a chore or a difďŹ cult tasks, but who embrace the feeling, being behind the wheel of a machine which has a bonus of transporting you where ever you want to travel. The targeted age and gender will be Males between 17- 45 years of age, from research I gained; it conveyed males show more interest in Formula1. The lifestyle of the targeted audience will be young and old enthusiastic bodies that care about lower emissions, they will see hybrid as a great invention and way to cut emissions. They will share the views on global warming as well as the sport, clearly showing passion to the sport and also seeing a better way to race greener. I want the targeted audience to see the Formula1 in a more respectful and responsible governing body, that have the ability to inuence and persuade, that if Formula1 is making changes, so can we!

SWOT The strengths of this technology are that it is in a growing demand to help lower Co2 pollution and congestion. Weaknesses are that the growing demand for hybrid vehicles will eventually outgrow the shadow of conventional petrol engines, leading the automobile industry to suffer a grate loss. Opportunities for Toyota are available such as producing new models and evolving the technology further, being and staying in a class of there own, when looked at as whole company Threats are that somebody maybe working to a closer deadline, and maybe already have a concept fully developed and in full swing to pitch to the FIA (governing bodies of Forula1 Motorsports)
