Fastest Kid to Cover 1000 metres

Arya Pankaj Takone made the record for being the fastest to cover 1000 metres while running. All of 3 years, 5 months and 21 days from Wardha, Maharashtra, completed the 1000 metres running in 6.01 minutes. Arya talks to IBR and shares her experience of making the record.

1. How does it feel to be the India Book of Records titleholder?

It is a moment of pride for me and my family. I get applauded and appreciated for my efforts.

2. What inspired you to make this record?

Milkha Singh and my mother are my inspiration. My mother always motivates me and says to push myself and achieve extraordinary feats.

3. What challenges did you face while making the record?

I have been training with my father for the last 1.5 years. The training sessions included physical drills. People used to come up to my father and say that I should not be doing such hard physical drills, at this age. But my father believed in my potential and didn’t get affected by negative comments.

4. For how long did you plan this record?

For the past two years.

5. How many hours of training did you undergo?

Almost 7 hours in a day. 6. What is the aim of your life? To become an athlete. I want to compete in Olympic Games and secure a Gold Medal for India.
