He left to pursue a successful career in Lima, but when he finds himself in a creative rut, he returns home to his Amazonian community of Pebas, visiting his father, a painter, and his mother, a sculptor, and discovers why the stories of his ancestors cannot be forgotten.
Generation 9/11 Tuesday, August 31 at 9pm Of the almost 3,000 people who died on 9/11, around 100 were fathers of babies who were not yet born. Generation 9/11 follows the lives of a number of these children and tracks their journeys into adulthood. Through their eyes, this documentary blends intimate, individual stories alongside a broader exploration of how the United States has evolved since 2001.

WFIU/WTIU Documentary Programs Fund In the fall of 2020, a generous donor came forward with a gift to help the stations establish a long-awaited fund to support locally produced long form documentary programming at WFIU and WTIU. The fund will be used to:
· Aid covering the associated production expenses to produce new, Indiana applicable, long form documentary programs for both WFIU and WTIU broadcast and web distribution.
· Assist WFIU/WTIU to also program offer its locally produced documentaries to the additional Indiana public radio and television stations, at no cost to the stations.
· Enable WFIU/WTIU to also distribute many of its locally produced, documentary programs nationally.
· Ensure sustaining the WFIU/WTIU legacy of compelling, Indiana-connected, locally produced, long form documentary programs.

Scott Tong Joins NPR and WBUR’s ‘Here & Now’ as Co-host Scott Tong will be the new co-host of NPR and WBUR’s Here & Now, the live midday news program that airs weekdays from 2 to 4 p.m. on WFIU2. Tong makes his on-air debut on Monday, August 9. Tong joins Here & Now after 16 years at Marketplace. He was the China bureau chief in Shanghai from 2006 until 2010. Since then, he’s been a senior correspondent and has reported from more than a dozen countries—from refugee camps in East Africa to shoe factories in eastern China.
