I am pleased to have this space to express my appreciation to all those who are involved directly and indirectly in this launch of new and innovative generation of products, being sure that our clients are going to dazzle. Thinking of all of us as individuals and as a company this is why I accepted this opportunity to create a product that will make us feel pride to be part of by using our hands and talent; where everything here is important. The creation of a new unit opens the doors to the future and sustainability of our business, because this depends also in achieving our personal and professional projects. My commitment with you is to create conductive conditions to make solar panels of world class quality here in SPMX, I take the fact that everyone will continue contributing to develop our new plant in P- Series.

I am very glad to received support until now from the staff of SPMX, where some of you have lived the experience to undertake, grow and apply improvements to the plant of Mexicali, resulting in the formation of the great team work, their values, the facilities and especially the care of the environment. SPMX2 is not going to stay behind and will keep working hard to become a world-class company. I say goodbye to you but not before mentioning the gratitude by the part of team that has integrated by the support provided. And reiterate the compromise by making things as it should be. We celebrate Sunpower moms in their day, as the Old West stlyle. The past 9th and 12th of May we celebrated Sunpower moms, who got dressed like cowgirls on their event in Salon Pakal. The celebration was held in honor of the value, of the collaboration with the company, the success of it and that every day they put all their effort in carrying out their work through engagement with Sunpower family. The celebration was filled of fun and fellowship, reflected in a great environment in charge of musical groups, where the moms never walked away from the dance floor and enjoyed their special day.

Sunpower,
creating a new generation of solar panels P series represents a new unit of business for Sunpower, a project of almost three years of planning and research, that has arrived to the phase of design and implementation in the plant of Mexicali and expects its launch in the next weeks. The P Series product, resembles to the solar cells that is produced currently in the company, which are photovoltaic but the creation of the chains is the group of the united cells that generates the sum of the voltage, having more capacity saving the space and better performance in the absorption of energy, thanks to the new design components. Likewise, Sunpower is opened to the opportunity to be part of the domestic market, because through Federal Electricity Commission and the General Director of CFE, Dr. Enrique Ochoa Reza, the company was granted to the concession to be provider of the institution, through a successful assessment of installations and product. In terms of employment generation, it expects that in 2 years, the new business unit has approximately 500 employees, which promotes that about half, are operators who currently work in the company. About it, Benjamin Blanco Barcenas, business unit manager, added that this ".. .represents opportunities for employees, everyone that is integrated in this project can learn new things and work with State of the art".
In the final stage to move from prototype to mass production they have participate around 40 people, including quality, production engineering and maintenance staff and others. For Benjamin Blanco, the development of this project, Is one of the distinguish characteristics of the company, mentioned that "the company is not stuck with a product, but is continually generating new designs, while maintaining high standards of quality". He also added that the team in charge is still working to make it a profitable and sustainable product, expecting both markets: commercial and residential. The business unit manager of the project stated to be very excited since he had the opportunity to participate in something new in his career and also mentioned that "the people that I work in the stage of research and implementation, have been the best in my career, motivated and eager to grow". He also said that to create the feeling of renewal, a new generation of products, technology innovative, and be to the forefront are the main objectives of the company, to boost the industry to generate jobs and be friendly with the environment. The new plant of Ensenada,
is the response of the development of Sunpower The job formation rotates between 400 people, is planned to start with 200 to 240 persons in fully automated lines. Located in the city of Ensenada expecting to start operations in the last quarter of the year, with a lower capacity than Mexicali and the possibility of extensions, if is required by the demand of the market. About the project, Jorge Luis Galindo Serna, Manager of unit of business in the next plant of Ensenada, mentions that "it will be a completely new plant, where there are going to apply many tools, trying to of do more efficient the processes of production and the space, one of the key points will be the automation, using the same process to create the product and same platforms", removing the manual in some stages to avoid the variations or problems that might have to the handle the product". Galindo Serna highlights that has been primary the experience that has the teamwork of Sunpower, he also mentioned that.. ”in any way, the project of P series is something new, it need space and people to work in it and the plant of Ensenada is to increase our capacity of production and to satisfy the necessities of customers in North America. He added that job formation rotates between 400 people, is planned to start with 200 to 240 persons in fully automated lines. Personally, for Galindo Serna represents a positive challenge with very high expectations to accomplish, but also having confidence that the teamwork is going to achieve it with success.
About the co-workers and the support f the company he commented that: “ I believe that the majority of the things that are happening in the company is because of the team, they have been very helpful and Sunpower have organizational structure , which helps the results of the objectives and everyone; including the senior management, staff and new employees.

We celebrated the children of our exemplary parents
of Sunpower with a Jurassic adventure Day 21 and 28 of the last may, Sunpower kids lived a great prehistoric adventure in Dhyno Park, located in Mexicali’s zoo, where they had the chance to meet with dinosaurs, learn of their life, the way they ate, they even have fun in activities like finding fossils on Earth, research in a laboratory to discover features and differences between the variety of dinosaurs.

They successfully performed the Internal Audit of Integrated System With the visit of 4 auditors and the review of shifts A,B,C and D, the company successfully conducted the internal audit of integrated system. Through the implementation of the audit of recertification of OHSAS 18001 (Safety), ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environment) Sunpower is certified within the new standards by 2015, ensuring the validity of your certification until the year 2017. Daniel Beard Leon, Manager of safety and environment in Sunpower, commented that "Sunpower corporation consider very important this type of certifications, especially OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 and OHSAS 14001, contemplating it as a integrated system, the three of them have certain controls together and procedures that are the same, being able to comply and having them is a very important step to the company ensuring that we are giving quality for the customer, safety employees and protection of the environment, which is essential for the operation of the company.

About the management systems that performed in the company, Barba Leon explained that a management is a methodology of work that is backed up by an organism of certification ISO, to take it to any process focused to continuous improvement, being stable in the subject of quality and environment.

Daniel Barba also stated that are important because it helps to standardize the work of the operators, in the aspects of realization of the work and helps us to ensure that the quality is always the same ,that the risks of security is minimized and the environmental impacts are reduce. In the preparation for this audit, he mentioned that it started since September of 2015 with meetings between the group in charge of the fulfillment of different certifications, training activities for the group of internal audits as wall internal audits detecting the weak areas to track them and prepare for the external audits. As the results, he explained that they were found any minor discovery’s only some observations along with areas of improvement, in security they realized three minor findings related to the normal operation to the 2015 standard. Blanca Leon explained, “It was something relatively good because at least it know that they did a good implementation of the new standard, those minor findings were very simple things that were corrected immediately”. In terms of the observations, Blanca Leon commented “they were general things from contractors who in some cases didn’t use the personal protective equipment, in any lack of signage in a trash container; "things are very simple, understand that for that are the audits, to find those small details and improve the plant". The security manager and environment, stressed that "…we relate everything with our employees that make the product, responded adequately to all the questions that they did to them, with knowledge in the political of security of environment;" "they knew the sequence of their processes for no impact to the environment, its security or the quality", ended.

Why am I in Sunpower? I’m in Sunpower because is a innovative company, for me is a new experience, specially in the area of solar energy. I have been working in Sunpower approximately a year and a half. Since I had work here, I have perceived a good and pleasant environment at work. The activities that I do every day, dealing with people, the contribution to the working community by encouraging the use of alternative energies, apply the institutional values have indicate me the responsibility that entails working in a company that is used by the global support. Therefore I guarantee to do my best in my daily activities at work, to accomplish the objectives that are in my area of the company to do them in a good way and how they should. I compromised to respect all my co-workers, work with the Sunpower culture and to promote the use of renewable energy.
