This is the camping site for hikers before proceeding to the summit. Set tent, dinner, enjoy the tranquil calm evening with sparking stars above your head.

TEASER CLIMBING
MOUNT RINJANI NATIONAL PARK At 3,726 m, Rinjani is the second highest volcano in Indonesia, dominates the landscape of the relatively small island of Lombok. Within its huge 50 km² caldera sits the crater lake Segara Anak (Child of the Sea). Eruptions within the caldera have formed a new small cone called appropriately enough, Gunung Baru (New Mountain). Segara Anak has a natural hot spring. The mountain and its satellites form the Mount Rinjani National Park (Taman Nasional Gunung Rinjani) officially 41,000 hectares within the park boundaries and a further 66,000 hectares of protected forest outside.
ON THE WAY Sembalun Lawang Village, savanna, pinetree forest, deers, monkeys, hot water spring/waterfall, Tiu Kelep and Sendang Gile waterfalls, Rinjani’s summit, Segara Anak Lake, Mount (volcano) Baru Jari RECOMMENDED PACKAGE TOUR • 3D2N for fit hikers, start / end at Senaru Village • 4D3N a more relaxed hike, start at Sembalun Lawang Village end at Senaru Village ACCOMMODATION • Hotel at Senggigi or Lembah Rinjani Villa & Resto at Sembalun Lawang • Tent INCLUDES • Tent, sleeping bag, mattress • Meals & refreshments • Transportation: transfer to/from Senaru Village or Sembalun Lawang Vilage • Guide & porter
Few sights are as breathtaking as the sudden appearance of Gunung Rinjani's main crater at the end of the first day of this walk. Add in the even more astounding view from the volcano's summit and the serene beauty of being in the crater itself, and you've got a worldclass trek that I can't recommend enough,
This isn't an easy walk, especially the last stretch up to the summit; the scree is exhausting to walk on and if you want to catch the incredible sunset from the top you have to start walking in the middle of the night. The summit is optional, but if you can manage it, you won't regret it. - Long-Distance Walks with Mark Moxon -

TEASER CYCLING
LOMBOK • SUMBAWA • TAMBORA “Lombok is Bali 20 years ago”, that’s what they said 10 years ago. Today, Bali is still Bali and Lombok is still very much Lombok. A lot of similarities in its natural beauty, but Lombok offers a more quite, pristine, and calm surroundings, actually suitable for honeymooners. Many tourists visit Lombok without really reaching the mainland itself, but stay at Gili islands. Next to Lombok there is another bigger but more quiet island, Sumbawa. Unspoiled beaches, hills, and the legendary volcano that blasted in 1815 and changed the climate in Europe, known as “the year without summer”, Gunung Tambora.
CYCLING LOMBOK. Seeing Lombok by bicycle is another experience. A backroad cycling adventure upnorth along the Senggigi coast , or down to central Lombok and further to Kuta Lombok beach. The east coast of Lombok is also an untouched beauty. Ride through Sasak villages, ricefields, ride to the foothills of Rinjani, stop by the waterfalls. SUMBAWA • TAMBORA • BICYCLE vs HORSES From Lombok, cross to Sumbawa by ferry and explore by bicycle from the west coast to the north coast of central Sumbawa. Race against horses on the savanna of Tambora. The reward is climbing the Tambora. The crater rim of Tambora is one of the world’s most fascinating places and the views at sunset over Gunung Rinjani (Lombok) are fabulous. As for the incredible size of the crater itself, photos cannot really do it justice.

ACTIVE ADVENTURES ABOUT RISKS AND DANGERS
Climbing mountains in Indonesia is not to be taken lightly. Very low temperature at the top, sometimes down to 4 degrees Celsius, thunderstorm, trail become invisible after heavy rain, fallen tree blocking the trail, unstable volcanic soils, deep and deadly ravines, and not to forget wild animals.
Many experienced hikers can climb Gunung Gede all the way up to the summit from Cibodas in a few hours. They call it a “walk in the park”. There are some solo hikers who climbed Rinjani in one day, not to the summit but only to the crater rim, starting at 4:30 am in the morning and reached the crater rim at 9:00 am. These stories may have inspired us all, “yes, we can do it too”. But there are also many stories about solo hikers who were caught up in a very heavy rain and got hypothermia on these mountains. They luckily survived after being rescued by mountain guides, porters, or other climbers. HOW TO CLIMB A MOUNTAIN "Some mountaineers are proud of having done all their climbs without bivouac. How much they have missed ! And the same applies to those who enjoy only rock climbing, or only the ice climbs, only the ridges or faces. We should refuse none of the thousands and one joys that the mountains offer us at every turn. We should brush nothing aside, set no restrictions. We should experience hunger and thirst, be able to go fast, but also to go slowly and to contemplate.” Gaston Rébuffat (1921—1985)
We wish you a rewarding, experiential, and infinite Infiniti Adventures with us. See you up there !
