Happy, Healthy Goals
Spending more time with my thoughts and actually getting to relax led to me coming up with a small list of goals to help me be more intentional about my health and happiness. I decided to share them here, maybe for inspiration for some of you if there are things you want to change about your life!
• Spend WAY less time on your phone.

I knew people generally use their phones to take up idle time and fill awkward spaces, but I didn’t realize until I refused to use my phone for a while how often I rely on it and how much thought-space it takes up. Even choosing not to look at it during ads or commercials forces you to use your brain for a few extra minutes, which can really accomplish a lot. I want to use my phone intentionally rather than as a filler or an escape. I’d also like to put it on “do not disturb” every now and then to force myself to be more free and present.
• Free up more time to be creative.
I’ve done a terrible job of writing and creating this semester, but it’s a huge part of who I am and what makes me feel whole. I need to make myself sit down and do it more.
• Push yourself to run or work out daily.
I need to prove to myself I am strong and entirely capable of challenging myself. I am in control and I can do it.
• Spend money intentionally.
Stick to the budget, and be realistic. Period.
• Practice Spanish and music more.
Make an hourly schedule to fit a hobby in daily and stick to it. These things are good for me in so many ways. They just have to happen.
• Cook healthy food when possible.
Eating healthy food leads to living a healthy lifestyle!
• Most importantly: Be mindful.
I’m going through a lot right now and am learning and growing a ton, but it is definitely its own challenge. I need to help myself heal and become who I want to be by being mindful when my brain wants to be negative through changing my thoughts and being honest with myself. I’d also spend a few minutes each day just letting myself breathe and think to connect with my world. I need to remember I am in control, and I need to fight to be happy and healthy mentally as well as physically. I love myself and I can do this.
