If your company is a prominent player in the emerging world of clouds, you cannot afford to miss the sessions dedicated to the cloud at INTEROP Mumbai 2011. From setting up a cloud, deploying, architecting and measuring ROI – we have almost every possible topic covered with respect to the cloud. We even have an exclusive Cloud Zone, wherein leading vendors will demonstrate the latest tools and technologies with respect to cloud computing. With unprecedented proliferation of smartphones and tablets, IT departments are under pressure to allow employee-owned devices onto their enterprise networks. Lessons for CIOs from the Mumbai Dabbawala Dr Pawan Agrawal President of Kamlabai Educational and Charitable Trust CEO of Mumbai Dabbawala Education Centre At the INTEROP Mumbai 2011 conference, Dr Pawan Agrawal, shares some unique insights into a supply chain that runs without technology and has a prestigious Six Sigma certification. What would you call a human supply chain network that is massive in scale, uses no technology, but still manages to deliver over 2 lakh lunch boxes (also called the ‘Dabba’) everyday with no errors? The word ‘miracle’ perhaps is too modest to describe this phenomenon. No wonder, it is an enviable feat. The Dabbawalas also have to their credit, a Six Sigma rating, and of course, a place on the syllabus of multiple management books of international repute. The BBC has produced a documentary on the Dabbawalas, and Prince Charles had to fit in with the Dabbawalas schedule (not vice versa), since the Dabbawalas have a fixed schedule where the customer is the only king. Impressed with the service, Princes Charles invited the Dabbawalas to his wedding with Camilla Parkes Bowes. How does an organization with no sophisticated knowledge and usage of technology manage to create a supply chain that is the envy of global organizations? To know more, attend an interactive session at the hub of business technology, INTEROP Mumbai 2011.

Deep Dive into SQL Injection Slavik Markovich VP & CTO, Database Security McAfee One of the attack vectors prevalently used by hackers today is SQL injection. The biggest breach of credit card data to date, at Heartland Payment Systems, was initiated using this attack. Although SQL injection is well understood, it still stars in OWASP top ten attack problems and many web sites and applications are still vulnerable. In this presentation, Slavik will show how hackers use advanced techniques to exploit SQL injection vulnerabilities and steal information from the compromised application and other databases on the network. Reconnaissance techniques, error manipulation, blind SQL injection, worms and back-doors will be explained and demonstrated against live Oracle servers and a demo web application. It is crucial for information security professionals, DBAs and developers to understand these techniques in order to thwart them.

Abstract: One of the most frequent concerns we hear expressed by CISO’s is that it is difficult to communicate complex security plans to largely non-technical board members. Problems sometimes arrive as soon as a CISO says the simple truth - that there’s no way to provide absolute security. But when strategic plans aren’t understood or embraced, funding can collapse, support can wane, and the train wrecks that follow can end companies and careers. Fortunately, there are good approaches you can take to get your message across - our panelists will talk through strategies that communicate the risks and benefits of security initiatives that make the case for justifying security project expenses, even when their costs are sometimes very large.

Abstract: With the advent of cloud computing, there has been a drastic increase in the enterprise applications consumed by end users – ranging from the applications managed in the on-premise datacenter, applications that are running on service provider IaaS clouds and the new PaaS and SaaS applications. This brings in two core issues around bridging the on-premise applications to the IaaS cloud apps and managing user identity across all the different applications. This session will focus on the network bridging and network based identity management solutions that enable administrators to get a single pane of glass view of all the enterprise applications and manage user provisioning, SSO to applications, self-service account management and usage monitoring and tracking all from a central management console. Managing user identity across on-premise applications and cloud-based applications is a complex task. The Web 2.0 tools strengthen bond with both internal users & external customers by enabling continuous interactive engagement and intense focus on customer retention. Social Media marks “A shift from a Monologue Communication to a Dialogue”! Social Media ‘use’ and ‘application’ is not a matter of choice for an enterprise, it is a must. Customers and prospective customers are using social media reviews/collaboration to evaluate products and services, and taking decisions based on the same. Irrespective of enterprise focus on social media, people (current/prospective/ ex customers & employees) are talking about your enterprise, products and services and these conversations are critical to be hooked into, analyzed, and actions taken appropriately. This session will help attendees understand the use cases of social media in the BFSI industry. disaster

Speaker: Mohit Puri - Country Manager – WatchGuard Abstract: Today, it’s clear that the web is the most dangerous place on the Internet, and social networks are the frontlines of the web battle. While the security community theorizes about the potential damage from a global cyberwar, most businesses still don’t do a good job of defending against basic social network and web threats, largely because they lack the necessary security controls. How do you prevent threats that hide within traffic that your business must allow? In his presentation, attendees will understand how attackers leverage Web 2.0 applications to infiltrate your networks, and how real-world attackers target social networks today with attacks ranging from cyber bullying to drive-by download delivery. More importantly, the speaker will suggest some practical network defenses and controls that will give you back the reins to your network. Topic: Social media networks: The next frontier of corporate espionage?

Abstract: This session would depict a behind-the-scenes journey into the social media activities of a sample of 20 companies as well as their employees and partners who were mainly active on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. The objective of this experiment is to show how individual tidbits of information lying across social media, when seen together as an applied jigsaw puzzle, can reveal surprising insider information about the company that wouldn’t be readily available to outsiders. Through direct revelations, unmonitored tweets and logical deductions gathered from social media, it is possible for anyone including competitors to learn about an organization’s core values, hierarchy, communication style, organizational motivation, industry environment, employee morale, business challenges, systems and processes, competitive information and intellectual property. The aim here is to sensitize the attendee regarding this phenomenon by sharing an internal research that was done by the speaker’s team, studying 20 sample organizations active on social networking sites where the objective was to get as much information as possible about these organizations. The findings are entertaining and scary at the same time.

the CISO

Speaker: Chaitanya Kunthe - Head Consultancy Services - MIEL e-Security Abstract: Every CISO is in the quest for the Holy Grail of information Security, the ‘Security Metrics’. The CISO’s objective has always been two-fold. The first has been to know the current state of information security in his organization. This is obtained from kilobytes of logs or reams of filled forms! The second objective has been to present the correct picture to the management in a simple manner. This presentation tries to help the CISO achieve both. This session aims at helping the CISO in his quest for obtaining the right information, as well as presenting it in the right manner. It starts with the information the CISO needs to identify and analyze from the huge amount of data available at his disposal. The common sources of security related data in an organization and the ways to make them useful are analyzed. Once the right information is known, the CISO can take the right decisions. The second takeaway is the means to bring out the right picture to the management to enable them in their business. Topic: The true value of cloud analytics

Speaker: Marc Bown - Managing Consultant - Trustwave

Topic: Monitoring Application Delivery

Abstract: It is common belief that an organization that achieves compliance with a standard like PCI should be secure against hackers. The simple truth is that it is entirely possible to compromise a fully PCI complaint network, and the speaker will show us how. This session will present research across several hundreds of organizations and demonstrate how to compromise a network that complies with the PCI-DSS to the letter, due to otherwise poor information security practices. This technical and tactical presentation utilizes pen test, incident data, and assessor information to formulate exploitation scenarios for PCI compliant networks. Attendees of this session will gain insight into the methods that an attacker could use to compromise a network that is compliant with the PCI standard, but which has otherwise lax information security controls. Attendees will also learn some specifics of the PCI-DSS and how it relates to network security standards.
