Vladimir Vasiliev Patrono Fundador da Escola do Teatro Bolshoi no Brasil 20 anos... Foram muitos ou poucos? Acho que muitas pessoas dirão, claro, não são muitos. E eles estarão apenas parcialmente certos. Afinal, se você pensar sobre a história, experiência, tradições por trás do nome “Bolshoi” e da “escola russa de balé clássico” e acrescentar a isso a história e tradição da dança brasileira, esse número crescerá em um par de séculos. Ouvi pela primeira vez sobre a proposta de Luiz Henrique de nosso diretor artístico na época, Alexander Bogatyrev – mas o conheci pessoalmente mais tarde, numa visita ao meu escritório de diretor do Bolshoi. Naquela época, o Teatro Bolshoi estava recebendo muitas ofertas para abrir sua escola no exterior. Mas todas pareciam ser apenas de natureza comercial. Quando Luiz Henrique me contou sobre a ideia de uma escola em Joinville, conversamos sobre isso. Por algum motivo, imediatamente acreditei nesse homem incrível de tão longe, do Brasil. Ele era um homem apaixonado, enérgico, muito criativo e decidido ao mesmo tempo. Era óbvio que tudo o que tinha planejado e decidido fazer se tornaria realidade. Foi ele quem teve a ideia de criar algo lindo em sua cidade com o nome “Bolshoi”, que representava o melhor na arte do balé para ele. Mas nem com tudo isso acreditei que, em tão pouco tempo, fosse possível criar algo semelhante ao que vimos um ano depois no Centreventos – qualquer escola de balé no mundo sonharia em ter tais estúdios e instalações. de março de 2000, a abertura da escola ocorreu com convidados de alto escalão do governo, incluindo um discurso muito emocionante, poético, como sempre, de Luiz Henrique e, no final, fogos de artifício festivos. Alguns dias depois, os 130 primeiros alunos da primeira e única Escola de Teatro Bolshoi fora da Rússia iniciaram seu primeiro ano acadêmico. A Escola deu a eles a oportunidade de ver que há um mundo diferente, um belo mundo da arte. Esta é uma missão especial e de alta prioridade da Escola como um projeto socialmente significativo, importante não só para os alunos, mas também para o futuro do Brasil. Desde a sua abertura, a Escola vem se fortalecendo, tanto na dança clássica quanto na moderna. Ano após ano, os formandos da Escola se juntam às fileiras das companhias de balé dos teatros mais famosos do mundo, incluindo o Teatro Bolshoi, em Moscou. Tenho certeza que nossos graduados irão encantar o público com sua arte, suas atitudes em relação à profissão de balé e seus altos níveis de habilidade. Em cada um deles há uma parte do meu trabalho também – e, portanto, isso também me dá confiança de que não vivi e trabalhei em vão. O principal é não parar, seguir em frente o tempo todo, apesar das dificuldades. Então a história da nossa Escola será duradoura e feliz. E é exatamente isso que desejo!
A long-lasting and happy history 20 years... Has it been many or a few?! I guess a lot of people will say, of course, it’s not many. And they’ll be only partly right. After all, if you think about the history, experience, traditions behind the name “Bolshoi” and “Russian school of classical ballet” and add to this the history and tradition of Brazilian dance, this figure will grow by a couple of centuries. I first heard about Luiz Henrique’s proposal from Alexander Bogatyrev- our ballet director then, but I met him in person later in my director’s office at the Bolshoi when he visited there. At that time, the Bolshoi Theatre was receiving many offers to open its school abroad. But they all seemed just commercial in nature. When Luiz Henrique told me about the idea of a school in Joinville, and we discussed it, for some reason I immediately believed this amazing man from so far away, from Brazil. He was a passionate, energetic, very creative and a strong-willed man all at the same time. It was obvious that everything he had planned and decided to do would come true. He was the one who had the idea of creating something beautiful in his city with the name “Bolshoi”, which represented the best in the art of ballet for him. But even all this could not make me believe that in such a short time it was possible to create something similar to what we saw one year after in Centreventos - any ballet school in the world would dream of having such studios and
premises. On March 15, 2000 the opening of the school took place with high-ranking guests from the government, including a very moving, poetic, as always, speech by Luiz Henrique, with festive fireworks in the end. A few days later the first 130 pupils of the first and only Bolshoi Theatre school outside Russia started their first academic year. The school gave them the opportunity to see that there is a different world, a beautiful world of art. This is a special, top priority mission of the school as a socially significant project, important not only for the students but also for the future of Brazil. Since its opening, the school has been growing stronger, both in classical as well as modern dance. Year after year, graduates from the school join the ranks of ballet companies of the world’s most famous theatres, including the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. I’m sure that our graduates will delight the audience with their art, their attitude to the ballet profession and their high skill level. In each of them there is a part of my work too - and, therefore this also gives me confidence that I did not live and work in vain. The main thing is not to stop, to go forward all the time, despite any difficulties. Then the history of our school will be long-lasting and happy. And this is exactly what I wish for!

Incentivadores da Arte O sonho do ex-diretor artístico do Bolshoi de Moscou, o russo Alexander Bogatyrev, de difundir o método Vaganova para outros países, e repassar a técnica russa para novas gerações, tem se tornado realidade desde a instalação do Bolshoi no Brasil. Centenas de bailarinos formados na instituição trabalham como professores e bailarinos, em escolas e companhias do Brasil e do mundo. Luiz Henrique da Silveira era um homem visionário. Quando viu no sonho de Bogatyrev uma oportunidade de proporcionar a Joinville o título de Capital Nacional da Dança, promovendo a arte por meio da dança o ano inteiro, não poupou esforços em abrir a única Escola Bolshoi fora da Rússia. Ele foi o Patrono Fundador e um grande apoiador do projeto, lutando bravamente pelo seu crescimento e reconhecimento. Outro nome importante dessa história deixou seu legado eternizado no coração da instituição: a mestra Galina Kravchenko, esposa do idealizador Alexander Bogatyrev. Galina foi bailarina do Bolshoi da Rússia por muitos anos, consagrando-se nos palcos com sua dança a caráter. Logo que chegou ao Brasil, viu na Escola, tão almejada por seu marido, um recomeço, um espaço onde ela teria oportunidade de repassar sua arte e ajudar a construir uma Escola de excelência. Foram 18 anos de dedicação à Escola do Teatro Bolshoi no Brasil, lapidando talentos e semeando o amor pela dança e pela vida entre centenas de crianças e jovens.

Art promoters The dream of the Russian and former artistic director of the Moscow Bolshoi, Alexander Bogatyrev, to disseminate the Vaganova method to other countries, and pass on the Russian technique to new generations, has become a reality since Bolshoi’s founding in Brazil. Hundreds of dancers trained at the institution work as teachers and dancers, in schools and companies in Brazil and the world. Luiz Henrique da Silveira was a visionary man. When he saw, in Bogatyrev’s dream, an opportunity to give Joinville the title of National Capital of Dance, promoting art through dance all year long, he spared no effort in opening the only Bolshoi School outside Russia. He was the Founding Patron and a great supporter of the project, fighting valiantly for its growth and recognition. Another important name in this history, who eternalized her legacy in the heart of the institution, is the master Galina Kravchenko, wife of the creator Alexander Bogatyrev. Galina was a ballerina in Russia’s Bolshoi for many years, she become internationally acclaimed on the stage with her character dance. As soon as she arrived in Brazil, she saw in the school, so desired by her husband, a new beginning, a space where she would have the opportunity to pass on her art and help build a school of excellence. Fatos importantes que marcaram os 20 anos do Bolshoi Brasil Se fosse para destacar os momentos mais marcantes que a Escola teve durante seus 20 anos de existência, eles não caberiam nessas páginas do boletim.
2003 – O primeiro estágio profissional, no Teatro Bolshoi, é protagonizado pela aluna Raquel Steglich e a primeira apresentação internacional é realizada na Alemanha.
2001 – Primeiro espetáculo da instituição I Mostra Didática de Dança.
2000 – Inauguração da Escola do Teatro Bolshoi no Brasil.
2002 – Nina Speranskaya se despede dos palcos, na cidade de Joinville, e repassa seu conhecimento aos alunos da Escola Bolshoi.
2008 – Criação da Cia. Jovem Bolshoi Brasil e participação na Noite de Gala do Festival de Dança de Joinville, com a presença de solistas do Teatro Bolshoi.
2010 – Ao completar 10 anos no país, o diretor geral do Teatro Bolshoi, Anatoly Iksanov, vem ao Brasil para renovar o contrato com a Escola Bolshoi e acontece a estreia do Balé Giselle.
2007 – Galina Kravchenko remonta o Balé Chopiniana, primeira obra completa da instituição, e acontece a Primeira Formatura, com a Grande Suíte do Ballet Don Quixote, com versão coreográfica de Vladimir Vasiliev.
2009 –Têm início as primeiras turnês da Cia. Jovem e com isso mais uma apresentação internacional, no Uruguai.
2012 – A Escola passa a conceder 100% de bolsas de estudos, para promover a inclusão social e a missão de formar artistas-cidadãos. 2011 – Os bailarinos Bruna Gaglianone e Erick Swolkin são contratados pelo Teatro Bolshoi da Rússia.
2018 – Ações socioeducativas e apresentações solidárias contribuem para o desenvolvimento dos alunos como cidadãos e artistas. Também é hora de dizer adeus a Galina Kravchenko, grande incentivadora da Escola Bolshoi. 2019 – O bailarino Jovani Furlan, joinvilense, é contratado para o New York City Ballet.
2013 – Duas viagens internacionais marcam o ano: no Paraguai, realizamos a primeira audição fora do Brasil e na Suíça, levamos a arte para a cidade-irmã de Joinville, Schaffhausen.
2017 – Recorde na Seleção Nacional: 120 candidatos por vaga.

2004 – Oscar Niemayer projeta uma sede para a Escola Bolshoi e acontece a segunda apresentação internacional na Itália. 2005 – Marina Gomes é a segunda brasileira a estagiar no Teatro Bolshoi de Moscou.
2006 – A Escola do Teatro Bolshoi no Brasil se apresenta na Rússia, na sede do Teatro Bolshoi.
2014 – Estreia do Ballet O Quebra-Nozes, com versão coreográfica de Vladimir Vasiliev.
2016 – A bailarina Amanda Gomes ganha um dos mais prestigiados concursos de dança do mundo “The Varna International Ballet Competition”, considerado a olimpíada do balé.
2015 – O contrato com o Teatro Bolshoi de Moscou é reafirmado no aniversário de 15 anos. Uma perda lastimável: Luiz Henrique da Silveira, Patrono Fundador, nos deixa.

Youth Company’s first tours begin and with this, another international presentation, in Uruguay. 2010 - Upon completing 10 years in the country, the managing director of the Bolshoi Theater, Anatoly Iksanov, comes to Brazil to renew the contract with the Bolshoi School and to debut the Giselle Ballet. 2011 - Dancers Bruna Gaglianone and Erick Swolkin are hired by the Bolshoi Theater in Russia. 2012 - The School begins granting 100% scholarships, to promote social inclusion and the mission of creating artist-citizens. 2013 - Two international trips mark the year. 20 anos dedicados ao Bolshoi Brasil Para a equipe da Escola Bolshoi, trabalhar neste projeto que tem em seu DNA a realização de sonhos e o resgate de crianças e jovens de condições vulneráveis torna-se também uma realização pessoal de cada colaborador que por aqui passa. Além da formação profissional, a transformação social desperta o amor dos alunos pela arte, e desenvolve talentos prontos para conquistar seus lugares no mundo. Formando cidadãos de excelência Desde sua instalação na cidade de Joinville, a Escola do Teatro Bolshoi no Brasil segue à risca sua missão, de formar artistas-cidadãos. São centenas de jovens que encontram na arte não apenas o desejo de dançar, mas também um refúgio onde podem expressar seus sentimentos. A caminhada é árdua, são oito anos de curso, muitas horas dedicadas ao aperfeiçoamento da técnica, que transformam estes bailarinos em profissionais qualificados e capacitados para o mercado mundial. Para a bailarina Rafaela Morel, solista na Ópera e Ballet de Ekaterimburgo, na Rússia. “O Bolshoi Brasil é símbolo de excelência em educação e uma grande alavanca na realização de sonhos, minha segunda família que me acolheu, me educou e me ajudou a chegar onde estou hoje”, comenta Rafaela, formada na instituição em 2011. Mas até que estejam preparados para o mundo, os desafios vividos no processo de formação exigem uma boa base e muita orientação fora da sala de aula. Por isso, além de professores altamente qualificados no ensinamento técnico, uma equipe multidisciplinar contribui para que os alunos recebam apoio e instrução durante os anos de estudos. E esse trabalho acaba sendo fundamental para a disciplina e o desenvolvimento dos bailarinos, que em sua grande maioria mudam de cidade, estado e até de país para viverem esse sonho. A Escola Bolshoi não ensina apenas o balé, ela instiga o melhor de cada um, para que possam encarar grandes batalhas. Prova disso é que a maioria dos ex-alunos, atuantes na área da dança ou não, levam as lições repassadas para o resto da vida. Educação, respeito e perseverança são alguns dos ensinamentos eternizados por eles. Erick Swolkin, bailarino do Teatro Bolshoi da Rússia, é fruto dessa formação, e conta: “Estudei oito anos na Escola e fiz parte da Cia. Jovem. Sou muito grato ao Bolshoi e aos seus colaboradores, que são fundamentais para o amadurecimento dessas crianças e de todos que por aí passam. Ninguém alcança o sucesso sozinho, e se hoje cheguei até aqui, foi porque me apoiei em ombros de gigantes”.
Creating citizens of excellence Since its inception in the city of Joinville, the Bolshoi Theater School in Brazil has followed, to the letter, its mission of creating artist-citizens. Hundreds of young people find in art not only the desire to dance, but also a refuge where they can express their feelings. An arduous eight year journey, with many course hours dedicated to perfecting the technique, transforms these dancers into competent and qualified professionals for the world market. For ballerina Rafaela Morel, soloist at the Yekaterinburg Opera and Ballet in Russia, “Bolshoi Brazil is a symbol of excellence in education and a great springboard in fulfilling dreams, my second family that welcomed me, educated me and helped me get to where I’m today”, comments Rafaela, a 2011 graduate of the institution. But until they’re ready for the world, the challenges experienced in the training process require good foundation and lots of guidance outside the classroom. For this reason, in addition to highly qualified instructors in technical teaching, a multidisciplinary team contributes so that students receive support and instruction during their years of study. And this work ends up being essential for the discipline and development of the dancers, who mostly change their city, state and even country to live this dream. The Bolshoi School doesn’t just teach ballet, it brings out the best in each one, so that they can face great battles. Proof of this is that most alumni, working in the field of dance or not, take with them the lessons passed on for the rest of their lives. Education, respect and perseverance are some of the teachings eternalized by them. The ballet dancer at the Bolshoi Theater in Russia, Erick Swolkin, is the result of this training, and guarantees, “I studied eight years at the School and I was part of the Youth Company. I’m very grateful to Bolshoi and its collaborators, who are fundamental to the growth and maturity of these children and everyone who passes through here. Nobody achieves success alone, and if I got here today, it was because I leaned on the shoulders of giants”, concludes Erick.
