Playground Improvements You may have noticed the date of a sponsored event, planned for Tuesday 22nd March. The children will be asked to take part in a sponsored walk raising money for our playground improvements, which we hope to complete this summer if our financial target can be reached. We are waiting for our final set of plans to arrive, when the school council (children from across the school) will make a decision on the design. Full details will follow after the half term break. All funds from FWPS events will also contribute to these exciting improvements to our school.
InfoTech Sponsorship
All staff, pupils and Governors at West Park School would like to thank Jeff Newton and Infotech for sponsoring our new football strips. The teams went to the domes last week looking extremely smart, thanks to Jeff’s generosity.
World Book Day
The children at West Park School will be celebrating World Book Day on 3rd March. All classes will be taking part in reading and book related activities, including Story Telling from the folk group “The Young Uns”. This will be a non-uniform day, we will be encouraging the pupils to come to school dressed as their favourite character from a children’s book. The FWPS will also be running a book fair, all money raised will be used to improve the reading books within school. Full details will follow when we return to school after the half term break. .
At West Park School we are very aware of the implications of internet misuse which can affect our children. E-safety is a key part of our anti-bullying programme of work. Parents may be aware that yesterday was “Safer Internet Day”.. We would like to draw your attention to a useful website with advice for parents.
