Miss Sheldrick has been working closely with Jeff Newton and his team at InfoTech to update our school website. The children were introduced to the new format last week. We would encourage you to visit the site as we feel that it is full of useful information. There is a link to the school email address and we would welcome your feedback and comments on how you feel we could improve the site further.

Duchy Road Could I remind parents that the private road to High Tunstall Farm (Duchy Road) is the only vehicle access to West Park School. Over the past 18 months this single track road has become popular with some parents for parking. The grass verge is now in such a state of disrepair that at certain times during the day vehicles have no access to school as there is no room to pass along the tarmac road and cars would be damaged in deep holes which have appeared in the grass verge. Children are also in danger as cars are being driven along the pavement! We are working closely with the Local Authority and the Darling family who are supporting us in this matter. I would ask parents to turn their vehicles at the top of Coniscliffe Road and avoid parking along this private access road.

Some Unavoidable Delays: MUGA As many families will know, building work does not always fit into the initial timetable! The Multi Use Games Area will now be completed during the Summer Term and in full use by the end of the school year.

Academy Status The Academy Conversion date has also been delayed, mainly due to the state of our access to school along Duchy Road. The new proposed date for conversion is 1st March 2015. We will obviously keep you informed.

RED NOSE DAY—13th March 2015 I would like to take this opportunity to inform parents that we will be supporting Comic Relief again this year. We have taken part in many “fun “ activities over the years and are looking forward to another successful day in March. This year’s theme is: “Make your face funny for money!” Full details of the day will follow after the half term holidays.
