Fair way Foodser vice Members will rotate ever y 15 minutes and meet 24 different suppliers to sample and discuss the merits of the Fair way own brand range. The 24 suppliers will also have competitor samples present to ensure that Fair way own brand is a s good as, if not better than the rest of the market place.

E V EN T K E Y POI N TS PRODUCT DEL I V ERI ES

Villa Park, Trinity Stand, 1982 Lounge & Trinity Suite Access is available from 7.30am and the meeting will commence at 9.30am and conclude at 16.45pm. All 24 suppliers will be in one large area and will have two 6x4 foot tables for their presentations which will consist of 12 member groups split up with 7/8 delegates in each. Each meeting will last 15 minutes and after this time a whistle will sound indicating time up so member delegates will need to move on to their next presentation. After each presentation a supplier takes part in they will then have a 15 minute break which will allow them time to prepare for the next presentation. Fair way have advised suppliers that they introduce themselves and their company ver y briefly - no more than one minute. The main focus should be introducing the range of products and then 3 or 4 products you have agreed to present against competitor samples. Suppliers are expected to highlight the features and benefits, any unique selling points and why the own brand product is as good as, if not better than the rest of the market.

Access will be available in the 1982 Lounge & Trinity Suite on Monday 7th November until 5pm. Suppliers will have access and be able to set up a day early and store samples in the chillers/freezers if they wish to do so.

EQU I PM EN T If suppliers require a power point, they must bring their own extension cable. Small appliances such as Grills, Microwaves, Ovens and Chillers can be used in your exhibiting space, however deep fat fryers are not allowed. Access to the Villa kitchens is available.

Jeff New ton of Infotech and Phil Putnam Spencer a Freelance Cameraman will be filming each presentation for our exclusive members area so members who are not present can view the event and use as a future point of reference. The full unedited videos will be stored securely on our members area and will not be visible to the public. A shor t 30-45 second unedited clip will be available for caterers so they can learn about Fair way Brand. All videos will be sent to the supplier for approval before they are made available.

Where Should I Park? The car park is located on Nor thwood Street, 100 yards from the main entrance of the hotel. There are 80 spaces, charged at £3.75 per day. The hotel has an agreement with the car park owners, Gallon, whereby guests arriving af ter 3pm only need to pay for that day (£3.75) then have a grace period up to 8am the next morning. If you require several days parking, you will need to purchase the required amount of tickets (one per day) and display these together (they will all show the same time and expir y date however car park attendants will know they are carried for ward for the amount of days versus tickets). The ticket machine only accepts coins. Alternatively, Howard Street, opposite, of fers on street parking with marked bays chargeable from 8am till 6pm each day, at £0.80 per hour or £3.00 for up to 4 hours. You can also pay via credit card. Call 0203 0032527 and state location 8009.

Keith Hepton | keith@fairwayfoodservice.com | 07939974170 Following presentations made to each member at our last ‘Meet the Member’ event back in September regarding the relaunch of the Fair way Added Value Chicken range an extensive review of products and suppliers has been undertaken in an effort to identif y a suitable range of items which are acceptable to our entire membership. This involved presentations from 12 potential suppliers followed by some quite demanding Blind Bench Marking sessions internally. We are today presenting a range which we believe is absolute ‘Best in Categor y’ and will undoubtedly accommodate each members requirements. Although exact timings are as yet to be confirmed, it is hoped that a Feb / March 2017 launch can be achieved.

Operating out of two state of the art factories in Belgium Clarebout have the largest production capacity of any EU manufacturer and are continually investing in equipment, storage and production capacity. They have a production capacity in excess of 800,000 mT p.a. Fair way Own Brand Chip volume is just over 6000 mT p.a. Not only are Clarebout the largest producer but they have also invested in state of the art computer and robotic additional sorting machines which can detect the full spectrum of colours and sophisticated blemish removal machines with 2000 knife blades automatically detecting and removing blemishes. They are producing frozen chips for all of the major UK wholesalers and buying Groups to “similar” specifications. We will show the “standard” Fair way chip alongside Brakes and Bidvest chips….but then we would like you to tr y some potential NEW own brand products and vote on their listing. Clarebout have begun producing a range of “coated fries” some are similar to “Stealth”, “Stay Crisp”, “Extra Crunch”, “Super Crunch” etc and the Clarebout products are all gluten free. with various coatings and also a “double coated extra crunchy wedge” Sweet Potato Fries – the fastest growing “potato” product “Triangular Hash Brown“ of the same general size as the McCain product i.e. smaller than the big Hash Browns from most continental manufacturers which tend to be 45gms and heavier (McCain one is around 30gms) and we think it is a far better size for portion and cost control for caterers. Finally Clarebout have designed and created a cutting knife to be able to produce the “Twister Fr y” – and they now have available a “Twister/Curly Coated Fr y” So all the products are Gluten Free and all meet UK Salt compliance levels. All these products are POTENTIAL Fair way Brand – but we would need to buy at least 200mt for it to be viable for Clarebout but we can start with these products in Clarebout Chefs Excellence brand if Members wish and gauge support i.e. if Members “get on board” and the volumes are substantial we can move into Fair way packaging. The final product was the Hash Brown- which would only be available in Marquise brand. Logistics for these products would be relatively easy because ever y Member is buying Clarebout and having regular deliveries.

This is not an “attack” on Lambs sales or McCains, these products would be for Fair way Own Brand and would be available to all Members (6 Members don’t buy from Lamb currently) they are ver y good quality and competitively priced and are likely to be available to the UK market through other wholesalers. I would strongly suggest that this “range” is strategically and tactically important for your businesses.

We all know how successful Fairway has been with Own Brand in Frozen Foods, but how successful has it been in other sectors? I arrived at Fair way in August 2011 and we launched the Fair way Foodser vice Own Brand Pickle Range (initially 5 products) back in Februar y 2012. It was an instant success and we sold our 12 month volume forecast within the first 8 months. This was followed by 3 Own Brand Canned Tomatoes – 6x2.55KG Chopped Tomatoes, 6x2.55Kg Plum Tomatoes and 12x800gm Tomato Puree – we have never looked back since and indeed a number of Own Brand categories have seen constant year on year growth of over 35% since launch. A fantastic performance. Interestingly we are in the process of moving the pickle range to Drivers with the introduction of a new line – Pickled Gherkins. The range will be available in the next few weeks.
