Wallace Wins NASCAR First African American Winner in 50 Years

e’s only 20. Yet, Darrell Wallace has broken a major barrier in the sport of car racing. On Oct. 26, Wallace became the second African American—and the first in 50 years—to win the NASCAR national race. His victory came at Martinsville Speedway in southern Virginia.
