Women’s Month in South Africa is a month of reﬂection of the women who paved the way, as well as a celebration of the women who continue to make strides and break boundaries.

Ingwe has always been a place to nurture such women. From young girls coming in as school leavers, to stay at home mum’s looking for a job opportunity, our culture has always been to empower independence and career growth in the ladies that enter our team.

Many have come and gone, but one thing that remains is that ferocious hunger for more that our principal, Noeleen Naidoo, instills in us.

I came to Ingwe as a new graduate, afraid to even introduce myself to the team, let alone play a part in leadership. This did not sit well with Noeleen. Through mentorship and a little bit of tough love, she molded me into a woman with ambition, drive and conﬁdence. Mine is not a unique story. Many young ladies who walked through the doors of Ingwe can attest to the same. This is simply who Noeleen is as both a leader and as a woman. She paves the way for a new generation of women who can take the real estate world by storm.

This August, I encourage you to support the multitude of female owned businesses around you, to ﬁnd avenues of mentorship, and to just be a source of strength and encouragement to young ladies, all in the same spirit of the same women who marched to Union Buildings in 1956. In the same spirit as those women who just would not settle for less.

The real estate sector has seen a signiﬁcant rise in the number of women taking on inﬂuential roles. From real estate agents and brokers to developers and CEOs, women are making their mark. Their unique perspectives and leadership styles are driving the industry toward a more inclusive and equitable future.

The mid-year real estate awards ceremony was a day to remember, ﬁlled with celebration, recognition, and inspiration. Held at our Pinetown branch, the home and core of Ingwe, the event brought together industry professionals from across the region to honor outstanding achievements and milestones.

Although, this was no regular Awards Ceremony. Normal is not acceptable at Ingwe. To spice things, Ingwe held an international team-based cook-off. All Ingwe associates were split into four teams, each representing a country assigned by lucky draw. These countries were India, Mexico, Portugal and our home land South Africa.

This day not only proved to be a challenge to the teams but managed to build bonds amongst the team members. The aroma of each team respective dishes ﬁlled the air making other’s curious and inquisitive but this did not cause dispute. In fact, the teams were willing to help each other to achieve their goals. Showing their true Ingwe The Property Company SA spirit.

The mid-year awards ceremony was not just a celebration of past achievements, but a powerful motivator for the months ahead.
