From The Desk Of Our Principal
Noeleen Naidoo
Kindness is like sunshine on a cloudy day. It’s unexpected but needed. It puts a smile on someone’s face and makes you feel better, but why is it so hard?
As we take on more tasks, do more with our time and get onto the hamster wheel of life, we put ourselves under more pressure. The rush, the race, the non-stop go go go demands our time and atten tion. Sadly in our constant rat race we are losing patience and kind ness. The pressure to perform or to be somewhere has forced us to become selfish in our response to others. Our lack of time and busy agendas has left us without room for others. We have lost the ability to care, to pause or to be patient. We have become consumed with our to do list.
The world will be a better place, filled with better people if we dared to care. Is it really that difficult or is it a matter of choice?
Could we choose to smile instead of frown, could be leave home a little earlier to miss the traffic, could we ask someone how are they really doing, could we make time? Time is freely given, costs nothing but its value outweighs any precious commodity. Time can change a persons life, time could save a persons life and time could change our world; one person a time. Time can eradicate the toxins of anger, frustrations and incorrect assumptions. Time can eradicate rage and hostility.
Kindness won’t cost us anything and it’s an act we’ll never regret. Kindness is the sparkle we leave, it’s the light we bring and the choice to make this a better world.
At Ingwe we are celebrating 23 years of business. I’m reflecting on our success story. We chose to make a difference, we shared our time patiently and we created raving fans. Our act of kindness was TIME and PATIENCE. 23 years later we are giving more time, we are patiently navigating the demands of an instant world by listening to understand and we are embracing change with deep breaths and big smiles.
Eleanor Roosevelt said, nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care.
Care enough to be kind.
KINDNESS DAY
World Kindness Day is a global day that promotes the importance of being kind to each other, to yourself, and to the world. The purpose of this day, celebrated on November 13 each year, is to help everyone understand that compassion for others is what binds us all together. This understanding has the power to bridge the gap between nations.
HOW CAN I HELP?
“Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” Mark Twain

Buffer the impact of the imminent interest rate hikes through budgeting, paying your bond earlier and adding lump sums towards your bond in the form of an inheritance or 13th cheque.
The recent announcement by the South African Reserve Bank to increase the lending rate by 75 basis points, means the repo rate (the rate at which the central bank lends money to com merical banks) will increase from 5.5 percent to 6.25 percent, while the prime rate rises from 9 percent to 9.75 percent.
For individuals an increase in the interest rate has implications for those with any form of lending or debt, due to higher interest rates translating to higher debt repayments. For home loans, the monthly repayment on a R1 million home loan, with a repayment term of 20 years, will increase from R 8 997 to R 9 485.
