LIGH READING CA$H BACK is returning money to you this holiday season!
We know you work hard for your money - so we work hard to keep your electric rates among the lowest in the country and to provide you with great service.
One of the many benefits of belonging to a cooperative like Inland Power is that you are an owner. Every time you purchase power, you build equity or ownership in your cooperative. The amount of equity you earn is determined by net margins – the amount of revenue collected in excess of expenses for each year. These net margins are returned to you through our CA$H BACK program, formerly known as capital credits.
Once allocated, your CA$H BACK credits are held by Inland Power as a resource to replace aging infrastructure, increase capacity, maintain reliability and to operate your cooperative. This system helps keep your electric rates low and your service reliable. The amount of CA$H BACK credits you are allocated each year is based on how much electricity you used during the previous year. In time, you will be paid all your allocated CA$H BACK credits.
Inland’s board of trustees vote to retire CA$H BACK credits when finances allow, often on an annual basis. CA$H BACK credits are
returned in two forms. Allocations from 1996 to 2017 (vintage years) will continue to be paid in check form each December. Current year allocations were paid as a bill credit in November.

Keeping you safe this holiday season
Nothing brightens the holidays more than a string of lights or a cozy heated home. As you gather with family and friends this season, we have some simple electrical safety tips to follow.
INSPECT DECORATIONS
Inspect all electrical decorations for cracked or frayed wires, damaged sockets and loose connections before use.
Use decorations that have been tested for safety and have certification labels from independent testing laboratories like UL, CSA or ETL2.
AVOID OVERLOADING OUTLETS
Do not overload electrical outlets. Plug only one high-wattage appliance into each outlet at a time.
Use extension cords sparingly and never connect more than three strings of incandescent lights together.
TREE SAFETY
Keep live trees well watered to prevent them from drying out and becoming a fire hazard.
Choose fire-resistant artificial trees.
SAFE PLACEMENT
Keep decorations at least three feet away from heat sources like fireplaces and candles.
Avoid running cords under rugs, furniture or across walkways and sidewalks.
TURN OFF WHEN UNATTENDED
Always turn off and unplug decorations when you leave the house or go to bed.
Use battery-operated candles instead of real ones to reduce fire risk.
GENERAL TIPS
Turn off space heaters when leaving the room or going to sleep.
Ensure your home has working smoke alarms in each bedroom, outside sleeping areas.
Friday Night Lights at Liberty High School
It was a rainy and windy Friday night of football on Nov. 1; however, the chilly temperatures didn’t stop the fun festivities from taking place. The Inland Power team hit the road and traveled to the Spangle community for an exciting rival football game between the Liberty Lancers and the Colfax Bulldogs. The night was filled with a variety of activities that included our hydrowheel trivia game, halftime t-shirt cannon, $5 concession stand vouchers, face painting and pom-pom giveaways!
We appreciate all those who endured the weather and participated in the entertaining night of appreciation. We love visiting the communities we serve and getting to know our members!
