GRUPO DAYFOR Laminates
LAMINATES SERIES Current market trends are moving towards using raw materials other than natural wood which provide good designs, finishes and improved quality, whilst protecting the environment and with no negative effects on the ecosystem. Construction solutions for every project. DAYFOR doors can fit in with and adapt to different types of construction, allowing architect and interior designer consultants to introduce an element of harmony to the project as a whole. The Group’s manufactured products offer a practical solution for the market and we can manufacture fire-resistant front and interior doors, wardrobes, cupboards, etc., in the same finish to create a unified aesthetic effect. We work with all types of laminates within the range: low, continuous and high pressure. HIGH PRESSURE LAMINATE – HPL Due to its unique combination of aesthetic appearance and durability, High Pressure Laminate is one of the most versatile surfacing materials in the construction sector. Its reverse face is sanded and it must be laminated to a panel. It is easy to work and to work with, so has a wide variety of applications for both horizontal and vertical surfaces. It is a high-quality product which complies with EN-438, ISO 9002 and ISO 14001 Standards and offers many varied finishes. It is the ideal solution for construction applications.
It comprises a core of sheets of kraft paper impregnated with phenolic resins to give the structure stability and rigidity.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING OF LAMINATES It is easy to clean the surface of laminates using water and a non-aggressive detergent. Stubborn marks can be removed using a gentle abrasive. Under no circumstances should aggressive scrubbing, such as Brillo pads or similar, be used. Most organic solvents do not damage laminate surfaces, so different solvents can be tried out for removing stubborn marks that ordinary detergents cannot remove. Mineral acids and bases can cause permanent damage so use of strongly acid or alkaline detergents, or domestic bleach, is not recommended. After using any cleaning solution on the surface, rinse it off and dry with a soft dry cloth. Glass-cleaning products are usually excellent cleaning agents, very useful for getting rid of blemishes, finger marks or smears left by other detergents. Spray the product directly onto the surface or apply to a damp cloth and wipe the surface down, then use a dry cloth to remove all traces of the cleaning agent. Spray polish for furniture is not suitable for laminate maintenance, since the waxes and/or silicone that these products contain are not absorbed by the surface of the laminate and leave marks, traces and stains when they come into contact with surfaces treated with laminate materials. It must be borne in mind that the degree of resistance of laminates to scratches, abrasion, cleaning products etc., depends on their thickness. In the event of a stain produced by unknown causes, choose the weakest cleaning agent and gradually work up to the strongest to remove it (e.g. water-soapdetergent etc.).
The decorative face, the sheet which carries the design, impregnated with melamine resin to protect it from abrasion. To finish off, the decorative sheet is protected by an overlay which is also impregnated with melamine resin.
CONTINUOUS PRESSURE LAMINATE – CPL Continuous Pressure decorative Laminate (also called roll laminate). These laminates are formed by 2 papers (decorative paper impregnated with melamine and one or more kraft paper layers impregnated with plastic resin) giving a thickness of 0.3 or 0.4 mm. They do not have an overlay and are similar in appearance to high pressure laminate. These laminates have lower abrasion resistance than high pressure laminates and are cheaper, but can only be manufactured in production runs of longer lengths. They can be pressed in continuous roller presses and are mainly used for vertical surface applications. LOW PRESSURE LAMINATE (LPL) - MELAMINE Melamine is made up of layers of different plain colour or decorative cellulose papers, and impregnated with amino plastic resins. It comes in different grammages, and at Dayfor we only use papers with a grammage higher than 120 g/m2. With a thickness of 0.1 mm, it is supplied pressed onto particle board or MDF (by means of pressure and heat) and is scratch and heat-resistant and keeps its colour over time. The surface finishes used are: Postformable quality with satin lacquer finish, ‘Soft’ finish which can be postformed for mouldings; with a minimum curve radius of 1 mm. Flat surface quality with satin lacquer finish, ‘Soft’ finish. It can be pressed at maximum temperatures of 130ºC and for a maximum pressing time of 20 seconds. 6

NATURAL WOOD SERIES
Geriatric Unit
Tradition and modernity come together in wood, a living element that lends itself to creating varied and high-quality surroundings. Grupo Dayfor is not just another run-of-the-mill manufacturer placing products on the market; we are manufacturers who work together with our customers to implement architectural designs. The type of technical joinery we manufacture is designed to provide service and we manufacture products from all kinds of natural wood-faced board and wood composite-faced board which offers a quality alternative for some species. For rustic finishes we use natural wood and wooden lumber-core boards to fashion a variety of finishes and models which look like traditional doors, particularly suitable for country hotels and establishments.

GRUPO DAYFOR
Fire-resistant and Soundproof Doors 54
MAIN FEATURES DAYFOOR FIRE-RESISTANT DOORSETS All the technical testing on the fire doors manufactured by our Company is carried out in accredited laboratories and the tests comply with prevailing regulations. Fire doors can only be sold as part of a complete doorset, since not only is the door itself certified as fire-resistant, but also the frame, architrave and fittings. If this is not the case, the doorset cannot be legally rated and certified as fire-resistant. It is extremely important that the assembly instructions for the doorset detailed in this document are followed closely. It must be emphasised that the fire-resistant glass fitted in DAYFOR doorsets is exclusively for indoor use; it comes readyfitted in the door and therefore must not be cut or altered; nor must it be exposed to temperatures of above 40ยบC for prolonged periods of time or to localized heat sources. Even though the glass is located inside a building, it must not be exposed to direct and continuous sunlight since it may be affected by the ultraviolet rays passing through it; this can be mitigated by applying a laminate screen to the external face of the glass which prevents 90% of ultraviolet rays from penetrating (or better still two butyral layers, which prevent 99% of UV rays from penetrating). Another point we highlight in the construction of fire-resistant doors is that they must not be cut. The edges of a door in a fire-resistant doorset (30, 60 and 90 minute resistance rating) may only be trimmed by 2 millimetres for adjustment purposes, anything above this invalidates the rating of the door and it is no longer classified as fire-resistant. In order to facilitate handling during transport and on-site fitting, double-door doorsets are dismantled after machining and supplied in kit form. Testing has been carried out in various ENAC-accredited laboratories.
dismantled and therefore the frame will need to be assembled in the corresponding room, once the checks and measurements of gap, narrowing, squaring and plumbing have been carried out; after this is done then the assembly is fitted in the same way as a single-door assembly. - The join between the FIRE-RESISTANT DOORSET and the wall frame must be completely sealed before fitting the architrave, leaving no spaces whatsoever, in order to prevent fire from penetrating through the join when the jamb or architrave is destroyed by fire, as shown in the illustrations below. The entire surround must be sealed on both sides at the points indicated in the diagram. The clearance for fitting the assembly must not be more than 5 mm; before fitting the architraves or jambs, it must be sealed on both sides with incombustible putty or rock wool. - Once the FIRE-RESISTANT DOOR ASSEMBLY has been fitted, you must fill in a form we will supply you with in which you indicate the building in which the doors have been fitted and the name of the door fitter; the door fitter must sign this document confirming that he has been informed of all the fitting instructions and has followed all the previously mentioned instructions for fitting the assembly. FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A FIRE-RESISTANT DOOR ASSEMBLY, IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT SEALING OF FRAME AND SUBFRAME IS CARRIED OUT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DIAGRAM SHOWN BELOW
SEALING DIAGRAM Partition wall

FITTING FIRE-RESISTANT DOORSETS For your information, we include in this document the instructions for fitting fire-resistant doorsets and we highlight the following points: - The wall sub-frames or frames must not be constructed with clearances of more than 5 mm between the wall frame and the frame attached to the door assembly. To ensure this, the gap, squaring, plumbing and possible narrowing at the lower or central part of the wall sub-frame or frame must be checked and measured, and corrective measures taken if necessary. - To fit a single door assembly, remove the packaging (but not the strips or the filling between door and frame to maintain clearance), level, and attach the anchoring elements supplied (staples, wedges, foam or other) once you are sure that when the door is opened, the clearance gap between frame and door leaf will not be obstructed. Carefully open the door and insert the longest screws in all the holes in the two upper hinges, removing the short screws from the top ones and replacing them with long ones one by one. - To facilitate both transport from factory to destination and handling inside building, the double door assembly is supplied 56

GRUPO DAYFOR Wardrobes and Furnishing Units
WARDROBES Given the wide variety of wardrobes available on the market, when choosing the most suitable one you have to think about not only your budget, but also about your storage, organisation and space requirements. Made-to-measure wardrobes differ from ready-made ones in that they are manufactured exclusively to fit the measurements of the space where they are to be fitted. They offer aesthetics and finishes that standard measurement models cannot, and moreover are designed to make best use of the space available. Door opening systems There are different opening systems for wardrobe doors, and we list the most common ones below: Sliding doors: these doors hang on a guide rail and slide back to the left and the right. They are recommended for rooms where space is limited since they do not take up extra opening room. They allow only a partial view of the inside of the wardrobe or cupboard. Hinged doors: the left or right handing of these types of doors requires free space in front of them, so they are more suitable for large rooms. By opening the doors fully, the whole of the inside of the wardrobe can be viewed. Folding doors: these types of doors also require free space in front of them but not so much as hinged doors, since each door folds back into two panels. The whole of the inside of the wardrobe can be viewed when these doors are fully open. What makes GRUPO DAYFOR POSTDIMAM WARDROBES different is that the customer can specify every aspect of the unit, including finishes in melamine, natural wood-faced board, high, low and continuous pressure laminates, the colour of the frame, decorative framing details, types of door, internal dividers, etc., making each space unique. Moreover, we can manufacture the units to match the design used for fire-resistant interior doors and front doors, so that all the joinery work forms a unified whole. Another distinguishing feature of POSTDIMAM WARDROBES is that they are madeto-measure, so do not require sub-frames or walls and can be fitted in any part of the room with their own partitions. Another area to highlight is the furnishings for hotels and residential homes that GRUPO DAYFOR manufactures Ă la carte, working alongside architects and interior designers. We put our production facilities at their disposal for manufacturing headboards, writing tables and mini-bars that match the door and wardrobe designs, thus creating a harmonious whole. Styles and materials can be chosen to give each space its own individual identity.
