Strings Club
This is a new strings ensemble for all those pupils that play a string instrument. It will take place at 8.15am every Monday.
iPad Garage Band Club (Year 3-5)
Come and enjoy making music by learning how to use GarageBand for iPads. Children will have the opportunity to compose their own music whilst having a lot of fun. The equipment required for this club is an iPad and personal headphones. Children will also be required to download ‘GarageBand’.
Ballet (Reception – Year 7)
The classes combine ballet with general dance, and we hope to work towards performances throughout the year. Dancing encourages
discipline, creativity, and artistic skills, together with improving confidence and physical development.

Lower School Choir (Year 1-5)
A fun singing session for all pupils in the lower school choir.
Sewing Club (Year 8-9)
Come to sewing club to learn how to use a sewing machine. A list of required items will be provided to all club members and will include material, cushion pad, thread and a zip. Wool may also be required when pupils become more proficient. The club runs on a Monday after school and any potential club participants should email Mrs Storey to confirm their place as spaces are limited.
Lego Club (Year 6-9)
Do you enjoy building things? Do you like creating something from nothing? Come to Lego club and see what you can construct! Work with friends or on your own. This club will be held on Monday after school in the Spanish room. It is open to all those in years 6-9. This club is limited it to 12 people owing to the space and bricks needed.

Maths Challenge Club (Year
8-9)
In the spring, Saint Nicholas will take a team of Year 8 and 9 pupils to a Team Maths Challenge competition in Cambridge. This club is for pupils who would like to take part in that competition. Each week pupils try different types of puzzles and questions in preparation for the spring time event.
Board Games Club (Year
3-5)
In board games club the children learn strategies, maths skills and turn taking. We will play a variety of games which all children who come will enjoy.
Science Help Clinic
(Year 9-11)
Struggling with biology or chemistry, want to do some revision, or just need a confidence boost?
Gardening Club
(Year 1-2)
Gardening Club will provide a great experience for children to learn about gardening, gaining hands on experience growing their own plants, vegetables and hopefully at some point in the future they will be able to taste the fruits (and vegetables) of their labour. Club members will be looking after the lower school playground area and will help develop valuable skills such as patience, trial and error, communication and responsibility.
Then this club is the place to come to. Open to Years 9, 10 and 11 and all abilities welcome.
ISA Shakespeare Monologue Competition Club (Year 5-6)
This club is for a select number of Year 5 and 6 pupils (four from each year group) who will be working on Shakespearean performances, in preparation for the ISA Shakespeare Monologue competition which will take place in March 2023. This club is invitation only.
Fashion Club (Year 3-4)
In this club, children will become creative designers, designing bags, purses and jewellery. The children will develop their technical sewing skills as well as allowing their creativity to flourish.
Yoga Club (Reception)
Yoga has been proven to build children’s core strength for good posture and overall physical fitness, along with helping flexibility and mobility in all joints and muscles. Why not come and give it a go? This club is open to Reception children.

(Year 6-11)
Come and create your own Mandala at Mindful Colouring Club. All resources provided but if you have your own colouring pens please bring them along.
Karate Karate is a great way to increase fitness, confidence and selfesteem. It is also a great forum in which to learn humility and respect for others, whilst also learning the basics of how to defend yourself. This weekly session is run by qualified UKA Sensei, Daniel Thackray.

This club is a great way to get back to nature and to put those green fingers to good use. Pupils have fun maintaining the school allotments, harvesting the vegetables, looking after local wildlife, discovering new mini beasts through pond dipping and thinking of new ways for the school to be even more environmentally friendly. Hard work is often rewarded by toasting marshmallows over a fire and drinking hot chocolate with friends. This club is limited to 12 pupils and is invitation only.
News Club (Year 6-8)
News club gives pupils the opportunity to watch, discuss and share their opinions on current news topics. Pupils are encouraged to share news stories with the group, particularly those which relate to the school and the wider community.

Pupils in Year 6-9 are welcome to attend this club. Pupils will be learning and teaching each other different card games. From Top Trumps, Uno and IQ cards, to playing cards, club members

Multicultural Dance Club (Year 4-5)
This vibrant, energetic club embraces dance steps, travelling movements and rhythms from around the world. Pupils have the opportunity to gain an understanding of different dance cultures and learn a range of dance techniques as well as contributing choreographic ideas to create a showcase dance for Harlow’s Multicultural Dance Festival which takes place in Spring 2023.
Chess Club (Year 6-11)
All players welcome – from beginners to Grandmasters! This club aims to provide an inclusive environment for all chess players to practice their skills and deepen their understanding about the tactics of the game.
3D Design Portfolio (Year 11)
This after school session is for Year 11 pupils studying 3D Design and it will be first come first served for their preferred day as Mr Smith can only accept a maximum of 10 pupils for each session. Once one of the days is full, pupils must attend the other day.

Book and Film Club (Year 3-5)
The focus of this club will alternate between reading books and watching films. Pupils will discuss the book/film plot and characters as well as their likes/dislikes before going on to write book/film reviews.
French Speaking Club (Year 10-11)
This club runs in the term leading up towards the GCSE French Speaking examination in late April/Early May 2023. Year 11 students have priority during the session and Year 10 students are welcome to join us to get ahead in preparing for their Speaking examination next summer. We will go over past papers for Role-Play and Photo-Cards as well as practise
General Conversation questions on all three themes. These sessions give us the opportunity for more 1 to 1 practice and reinforce the skills needed for the Speaking paper.
Note: Pupils are allowed to attend every 2 or 3 weeks, as long as their usual teacher is happy for them to do so, and provided the pupil registers with them before entering the club.

At Make and Do Club, children will be able to explore their creativity through a variety of different fun and
interesting activities involving sticking, cutting, drawing and making! There will be a different focus each week and the children will be able to take their creations home with them.

Forest School Club will give the children the opportunity to be free, enjoy nature walks, embrace their outside surroundings. It’s an opportunity for them to learn skills and experience the great outdoors in all weathers. Club members need to bring old clothes that they don’t mind getting dirty, with long trousers and long sleeves. wellies and a waterproof jacket are also required.
Young Voices (Year
Have you ever wondered how computers can do so many different things? If you would like to find out how computers perform calculations, draw shapes and control devices such as robots, then this is the club for you! You will learn how to program in a coding language called Python, one of the most popular programming languages in the world, it has been used to create everything from Netflix’s recommendation algorithm to the software that controls self-driving cars. Python is also the language used for GCSE Computer Science, so this is a great opportunity to build your skills if you are planning to continue studying Computer Science.

Being able to do this surrounded by school friends helps build their self-belief and confidence and their ability to communicate as part of a team, which is invaluable. After months of rehearsing, pupils feel a huge sense of achievement and pride in being able to perform and parents are also able to share the experience as part of the audience. This club is open to all pupils in Years 3 to 5 irrespective of whether they are complete beginners to yoga or have some yoga experience. Yoga benefits both the body and mind, and is the perfect way to unwind after a busy day at school.
Public Speaking Club (Year

Calling all future leaders and lawyers! In this club you will develop confidence in speaking to a range of different audiences and for different purposes. There will be opportunities for debates, for giving compelling speeches alongside honing your skills at communicating in a range of situations with confidence - whilst having a good time! There
will be opportunities to take part in speaking competitions (which help you stand out when applying for leadership positions in school and beyond) whilst also improving your ability to craft language for effect. This club is open to middle and upper school pupils.
Poetry Club (Year 6-11)
In Poetry Club, members will be writing, performing and generally enjoying poetry! There will be guided poetry writing sessions as well as opportunities to create poetry, using a variety of stimuli, both for performance but also just for a sense of personal enjoyment. There will also be lots of opportunities to get involved in regional and national poetry competitions. Sometimes, there might even be snacks!
Sting Performing Arts
STING performing arts is a nationwide theatre company delivering the arts to those who like to perform and have fun whilst gaining confidence with a high standard of training from all industry professionals. We teach our students the foundation in performing, and provide a safe fun class one day a week for all students to enjoy. We believe performing arts sets the foundation for young people to develop lifelong skills such as communication, imaginations and self-confidence.

Basketball (Year 5-7 and Year 8-11)
Morning basketball club on a Monday and Tuesday before school is a chance for pupils to improve their ball skills in preparation for the basketball season.
Girls Netball Training
(Year 3-6 and Year 7-11)
Netball club is open to all pupils, regardless of their experience and ability. It is a formal coaching session that will help pupils develop their skills and understanding of how to play the game. Whether they want to play for the school team, improve their skills or just have some fun playing, then this is the club for them!
Football (Year 2-3)
These sessions are held on Monday and are led by our external academy coach George Glock, providing opportunities for pupils to improve on their skill set and potentially get selected for future school teams.
Running Club (Year 3-5)
Running club is a great opportunity for pupils to develop
their endurance in a fun setting around the school grounds. The club focuses on technique as well as teaching the difference between endurance running and speed running.
3T Cricket Club (Year 2)
3T cricket is a perfect introduction to cricket. Sessions are specifically designed to help the children improve their balance and coordination with a strong emphasis on fun and games!
Sessions will be focused on cricket specific skills and include an introduction to basic coaching techniques for batting and fielding. Small sided games are used to support your child’s understanding of playing cricket, tactics and sense of teamwork.
Badminton Club (Year 5-7)
Badminton club for Year 5-7 pupils is held on a Thursday before school and is a chance for pupils to enjoy the more social side of the sport.
Girls Football (Year 6-11)
This club for girls in Year 6-11 provides an opportunity for girls to prepare for the up and coming football season and to continue to build on one of our most popular sports. It will be led by an external Harlow Ladies FC coach.
Gymnastics Club (Year 3-4)
Hip Hop Pop (Year 1-2)
This is a great lower school club which is led by an external tutor and Hip Hop Pop expert. Pupils have the chance to experience the skills and thrills of street dance.
Indoor Athletics (Year 1-3)
This is a fun and inclusive club to help develop the skills needed for running, jumping and throwing in athletics disciplines.
Gymnastics is tailored to provide progressive competition structures and support the development of core skills, for children from Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who have no previous gymnastics experience. It also offers an opportunity for children to become part of a squad and compete against other schools.
