Ballet (Reception – Year 7)
The classes combine ballet with general dance, and we hope to work towards performances throughout the year. Dancing encourages discipline, creativity, and artistic skills, together with improving confidence and physical development. If you would like your child to join please email Emma Jane Padfield on emmajane@wealdhallfarm.com and details will be sent directly to you.
Upper School Chamber Choir (Year 9-10)
A choir group for pupils in the upper school.
Lower School Choir (Year 1-5)
A fun singing session for all pupils in the lower school choir.
Sewing Club (Year 8-9)
Come to sewing club to learn how to use a sewing machine. A list of required items will be provided to all club members and will include material, cushion pad, thread and a zip. Wool may also be required when pupils become more proficient. The club runs on a Monday after school and any potential club participants should email Mrs Storey to confirm their place as spaces are limited.
Lego Club (Year 6-9)
Do you enjoy building things? Do you like creating something from nothing? Come to Lego club and see what you can construct! Work with friends or on your own. This club will be held on Monday after school in the Spanish room. It is open to all those in years 6-9. This club is limited it to 12 people owing to the space and bricks needed.
Spanish (Year 1-6)
Have fun with the Spanish language. Call Mrs Clay directly on 07535 209025 or email rosalindazeez@aol.com to book your child’s place. The Club will run for 8 weeks starting on 24th April - 3rd July and will cost £80.
Law Society Club (Year 10)
This club is for pupils who are interested in law to find out more about the careers that they might like to investigate further. There will be opportunities to speak to legal professionals, and to learn some of the points of law that are needed in the criminal or civil system.
Gardening Club (Year 1-2)
Gardening Club will provide a great experience for children to learn about gardening, gaining hands on experience growing their own plants, vegetables and hopefully at some

point in the future they will be able to taste the fruits (and vegetables) of their labour. Club members will be looking after the lower school playground area and will help develop valuable skills such as patience, trial and error, communication and responsibility. Gardening Club is a member of the Royal Horticultural Societies campaign for School Gardening and is currently working towards achieving Level 4 in these sessions.
Science Help Clinic (Year 9-10)
Struggling with biology or chemistry, want to do some revision, or just need a confidence boost? Then this club is the place to come to. Open to Years 9, 10 and 11 and all abilities welcome.
Scratch Coding Club (Year 3-4)
In this club, the children will be working on coding through the use of a programme called Scratch. Scratch is the world’s largest coding community for children, and will allow them to create digital stories, games, and animations. This club will promote computational thinking and problemsolving skills.
Puzzle Club
In Puzzle Club the children will be able to challenge themselves with a variety of different style puzzles. Some puzzles will be completed independently, others will require collaborative learning to find a solution.
Public Speaking Club (Year 6-10)
Calling all future leaders and lawyers! In this club you will develop confidence in speaking to a range of different audiences and for different purposes. There will be opportunities for debates, for giving compelling speeches alongside honing your skills at communicating in a range of situations with confidence - whilst having a good time! There will be opportunities to take part in speaking competitions (which help you stand out when applying for leadership positions in school and beyond) whilst also improving your ability to craft language for effect. This club is open to middle and upper school pupils.
Multicultural Dance Club (Year 4-5)
This vibrant, energetic club embraces dance steps, travelling movements and rhythms from around the world. Pupils have
the opportunity to gain an understanding of different dance cultures and learn a range of dance techniques as well as contributing choreographic ideas to create a showcase dance for Harlow’s Multicultural Dance Festival which takes place in Spring 2023.
Middle School Choir (Year 6-8)
A fun choir group for pupils in the middle school.
Karate
Karate is a great way to increase fitness, confidence and selfesteem. It is also a great forum in which to learn humility and respect for others, whilst also learning the basics of how to defend yourself. This weekly session is run by qualified UKA Sensei, Daniel Thackray.
Eco Club (Year 3-5)
This club is a great way to get back to nature and to put those green fingers to good use. Pupils have fun maintaining the school allotments, harvesting the vegetables, looking after local wildlife, discovering new mini beasts through pond dipping and thinking of new ways for the school to be even more environmentally friendly. Hard work is often rewarded

by toasting marshmallows over a fire and drinking hot chocolate with friends. This club is limited to 12 pupils and is invitation only.
News Club (Year 6-8)
News club gives pupils the opportunity to watch, discuss and share their opinions on current news topics. Pupils are encouraged to share news stories with the group, particularly those which relate to the school and the wider community.
Card Sharks (Year 6-9)
Pupils in Year 6-9 are welcome to attend this club. Pupils will be learning and teaching each other different card games. From Top Trumps, Uno and IQ cards, to playing cards, club members will be learning to play a wide range of card games. The club is intended to be relaxed and fun, and an opportunity to make new friends. Please bring along your best card games.
Dungeons and Dragons Club (Year 7-10)
Dungeons and Dragons is a table top role playing game.
The club will start with a session 0 and move up to level 4 before the end of the school year. As numbers for this club are so limited (max of 6 pupils), any pupil interested in joining should email Mr Rodriguez (m.rodriguez@ saintnicholasschool.net) so that any spaces that become available may be offered in order of emails received.
Games Club (Reception)
Miss Bell is excited to be starting ‘Games Club’ for Reception pupils every Tuesday. This club will promote gross motor development and spatial awareness for children when playing games such as ‘treasure island’, ‘dodgeball’ and ‘sharks in the water’.
Young Authors (Year 6-9)
Have you ever wanted to be an author? Whether it be through writing books, blogposts or captions, the Young Authors’ Club is the place to be! Come and explore how to start writing convincingly and shape your ideas, so that you can share them with the world! Club members will explore writing strategies, use Canva® to understand design and layout, and publish some of their work to our own mini-site in the summer.
Goat Walking Club (Year 6-9)
Get up close and personal with the Saint Nicholas Goats. Pupils will walk the grounds with the animals.

iPad Garage Band Club (Year 3-5)
Come and enjoy making music by learning how to use GarageBand for iPads. Children will have the opportunity to compose their own music whilst having a lot of fun. The equipment required for this club is an iPad and personal headphones. Children will also be required to download ‘GarageBand’.
Make and Do Club (Year 1-2)

At Make and Do Club, children will be able to explore their creativity through a variety of different fun and interesting activities involving sticking, cutting,
drawing and making! There will be a different focus each week and the children will be able to take their creations home with them.
Forest School Club (Year 2-3)
Forest School Club will give the children the opportunity to be free, enjoy nature walks, embrace their outside surroundings. It’s an opportunity for them to learn skills and experience the great outdoors in all weathers. Club members need to bring old clothes that they don’t mind getting dirty, with long trousers and long sleeves. Wellies and a water proof jacket are also required.
Classics Club (Year 6-7)
This club will involve Roman and Greek related games and activities.
Craft Club (Year 3-5)
This club is open to pupils in Year 3-5 and will use Hama beads, Bunchems, loom bands and K’nex.
Creative Crafting Club (Year 3-5)
Do you enjoy being creative and exploring different crafting techniques? In creative crafting club pupils will learn different skills to make a variety of craft projects, such as quilling, origami and decoupage.
Barbershop Group (Year 6-8)
This club is a group for young male singers, in which they will sing a wide range of music in a Barbershop style.
Poetry Club (Year 6-10)
In Poetry Club, members will be writing, performing and generally enjoying poetry! There will be guided poetry writing sessions as well as opportunities to create poetry, using a variety of stimuli, both for performance but also just for a sense of personal enjoyment. There will also be lots of opportunities to get involved in regional and national poetry competitions. Sometimes, there might even be snacks!
Sting Performing Arts
STING performing arts is a nationwide theatre company delivering the arts to those who like to perform and have fun whilst gaining confidence with a high standard of training from all industry professionals.
We teach our pupils the foundation in performing, and provide a safe fun class one day a week for all pupils to enjoy.
We believe performing arts sets the foundation for young people to develop lifelong skills such as communication, imaginations and self-confidence. There are three different age groups:

Basketball (Year 8-10)
Morning basketball club on a Monday before school is a chance for pupils to improve their ball skills in preparation for the basketball season.
Girls netball training (Year 3-6)
Netball club is open to all pupils, regardless of their experience and ability. It is a formal coaching session that will help pupils develop their skills and understanding of how to play the game. Whether they want to play for the school team, improve their skills or just have some fun playing, then this is the club for them!
Football (Year 2-3 and Year 4-5)
These sessions are held on a Monday and a Thursday for Year 2-3 and Year 4-5 respectively, and are led by an external academy coach, providing opportunities for pupils to improve on their skill set and potentially get selected for future school teams.
Girls Cricket Club (Year 6-10)
Girls cricket club aims to improve pupils bowling, batting and fielding skills as well as develop match play.
Cricket Club (Year 3-5)
Sessions are specifically designed to help the children improve their balance and co-ordination with a strong emphasis on fun and games! Sessions will be focused on cricket specific skills and include an introduction to basic coaching techniques for batting and fielding. Small sided games are used to support your child’s understanding of playing cricket, tactics and sense of teamwork.
Dance Fusion (Year 1-2)
This is a great lower school club which is led by an external dance tutor. Pupils have the chance to experience the skills and thrills of street dance.
Athletics (Year 6-10)
This club is a chance for pupils to further develop their track and field skill set. Pupils will be able to select specific events to work on each week including runs, jumps and throws. Staff are on hand to provide individual feedback and coach pupils through the technical skills of each athletics event.
Girls Football (Year 6-10)
This club for girls in Year 6-11 provides an opportunity for girls to prepare for the up and coming football season and to continue to build on one of our most popular sports. It will
be led by an external Harlow Ladies FC coach.
Mixed cricket (Year 6-10)
Cricket club will further develop pupils’ bowling, batting and fielding skills. The session will be focussed on having fun with team games and individual skills. The session is softball cricket only.
Swimming (Year 4-10)
Come and enjoy the perfect start to the day with our morning swim club. Focus on recreational swimming or improving your stroke technique making the most out of our wonderful pool facilities. Every level of swimming ability welcome.
Touch Rugby (Year 4-10)
Touch rugby is led by Mr Brown and focusses on improving skill set and developing friendships.
