BRIDEWELL TALKS: AN EVENING WITH OLYMPIAN JAZZ CARLIN

Wednesday 17th November Thursday 18th November 2 shows per day - 10.30am and 2pm. Actor David Hall presents ‘The Georgian Greats’, an interactive science show for children in Years 5 and 6 featuring the great scientists of the Georgian era.
Thursday 16th September 7.30pm The first in our ‘Bridewell Talks series’; aimed at sharing ideas and putting the spotlight on mental and physical wellbeing. This talk aimed at Prep and Primary School parents will be given by swimmer Jazz Carlin, a double Olympic silver medallist, double European and Commonwealth Champion.

PERFORMANCE BY FRENCH ACTORS Tuesday 2nd November 10am – 11am Year 8 pupils are invited to attend ‘Mon Père ne me comprend pas’. This 50 minute production is performed in French, with no English spoken, and is guaranteed to have the audience in stitches.

A day of music for children in Year 6 at local Prep and Primary Schools, ending with a concert for parents with afternoon tea. Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided for the children taking part.

REMOTE CHESS TOURNAMENT Saturday 6th November 10am – 11am The first of our three online chess tournaments. Children of any age and skill can play. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 players.
Year 8 pupils are invited to attend ‘En el Campanento’. This 50 minute production is performed in Spanish, with no English spoken, and will lots fun and laughter.

SPRING ART COMPETITION Exhibition Wednesday 16th March 5.30pm – 7pm. Artwork submission by Friday 4th March. Children in Years 5-8 are invited to take part in the Spring Art Competition, with submissions of 2D and/or 3D artworks to be co-ordinated by their Art teacher. Parents and children from participating schools are then welcomed to view the exhibition, join the prize-giving and enjoy light refreshments.

Actor David Hall presents his Mathmagics! Show. Children in Years 5 and 6 will be taken on an interactive journey to discover the wonderful world of maths.
SPY ACADEMY Saturday 26th February Saturday 5th March Saturday 19 th March 10am – 11.30am Join the King Edward’s Spy Academy. Children in Years 5 and 6 will learn a variety of spy techniques across the three Saturdays, finishing on the final Saturday with their Spy Academy passing out parade. Parents are welcome to stay for the duration in the Piccadilly Café on site at King Edward’s.
WORLD BOOK DAY AUTHOR WORKSHOP
The second of three online chess tournaments. Children of any age and skill can play. Prizes are awarded to the top 3 players.
Thursday 3rd March 9am to 11am Mimi Thebo, author of ‘Get Real’ and ‘Hit the Road, Jack’ will run a workshop for children in Years 6 and 7.

PERFORMANCE BY GERMAN ACTORS Wednesday 23rd March 10am – 11am Year 8 children are invited to attend ‘Horoskop’. This 50 minute production is performed in German, with no English spoken, and is filled with jokes, laughter and audience participation.

CHORAL DAY Thursday 21st April 9am – 4pm Children in Year 6 are invited to our Choral Day. This is a chance to learn a variety of songs and choral renditions during the day, before performing to an audience of parents and staff in the afternoon. The Choral Day will end with afternoon tea. Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided for the children.

MATHS AND SCIENCE CHALLENGE DAY Tuesday 14th June 9.30am – 3.30pm Gifted and talented Year 5 Mathematicians and Scientists in teams of six are invited to spend the whole day solving problems and experimenting. Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided. Parents of participating children are invited to attend the last activity of the day and then stay for afternoon tea.
BRIDEWELL TALKS: AN EVENING WITH INTERNET SAFETY GURU KARL HOPWOOD Wednesday 22nd June 7:30pm The third and final Bridewell Talk of this series, putting the spotlight on mental health and wellbeing. The talk will be given by Karl Hopwood, e-safety expert, on developing e-safety skills and advice aimed at Prep and Primary School parents.
