STONYHURST COLLEGE Set in the beautiful Ribble Valley and occupying a magnificent Grade I listed building, Stonyhurst College was founded in 1593 and is the oldest Jesuit School in the world. Considered to be ‘the jewel in the crown of the Ribble Valley’, Stonyhurst provides the perfect setting for your dream wedding. Available exclusively to former pupils and staff, a wedding at Stonyhurst College is truly unique.
THE STONYHURST GROUNDS Whilst the 15th century College building offers countless opportunities for memorable moments, the gardens boast outstanding views of Pendle Hill and the surrounding scenery, providing a wealth of impressive photo opportunities. Drinks and canapĂŠs can be served on the front lawns, with the iconic view of the College as the backdrop to your drinks reception. For a more intimate gathering, your guests can gather for refreshments in the Jesuit Gardens, overlooking the Ribble Valley landscape.

EXCHANGING YOUR VOWS Wedding services at Stonyhurst College can be held in either St Peter’s Church or the College Chapel. With its stunning interior and beautiful location, St Peter’s Church offers a magnificent backdrop to your wedding vows. Opened in 1832, this Victorian Church situated in the grounds of the College is a smaller version of King’s College Chapel in Cambridge. The College Chapel, formerly known as the ‘Boys’ Chapel’, is smaller than St Peter’s Church, creating a more intimate atmosphere in which to exchange your vows. The Wedding Reception With a variety of different but equally magnificent rooms to choose from, Stonyhurst caters for weddings of all sizes. Every wedding is bespoke and designed specifically to fulfil each couple’s individual requirements. A wedding breakfast in the Top Refectory is a grand affair, perfect for wedding parties numbering between 60 and 130. With it’s detailed wooden panels and portraits of the seven former pupils awarded the Victoria Cross, the Top Refectory is guaranteed to impress and offers something truly special to share with your guests. For a larger wedding party of more than 150 guests, a marquee in the Ambulacrum offers a spectacular backdrop and blank canvas on which to create your dream wedding. A dance floor and staging for your band or DJ will be in place throughout the day, and the ambient lighting creates a party atmosphere lasting long into the evening.

Celebrate EXCLUSIVELY AT STONYHURST A wedding breakfast in the New Refectory, with its panoramic views of the main avenue offers a luxurious and elegant feel to your day. The conservatory style dining area can seat up to 200 guests, with a dance floor for a band or DJ in the evening. A drinks reception in the College before the wedding breakfast can provide the perfect combination of modern and traditional elements to your special day.
