Why should you attend? 2017 Dear friends and colleagues, It is a great pleasure and a true honour for me to chair the 3rd annual Innovations in Large-Area Electronics Conference (innoLAE), 31st January – 1st February 2017, at the Wellcome Genome Campus Conference Centre in Cambridge, UK. Now in its third year, innoLAE has established itself as the key event for the large-area electronics community within the UK by bringing industry and academia together and providing us with valuable opportunities to share the latest research results and discuss new projects and collaborations. Through innoLAE, we want to continue to help bring innovation into the market and accelerate take up of new technologies. Top scientists from all over the world are planning to attend innoLAE 2017 and will be presenting the perspectives of SMEs and large global companies, leading manufacturers and end-users, research and technology organisations, as well as academia. I am confident that each delegate will be able to find their own area of interest covered by the programme. innoLAE 2017 will feature a dual-track two day programme, a thematic workshop on e-fibres and e-textiles, a poster session and an exhibition. Our gold sponsors will present two poster prizes awarded for the most promising, innovative and well-presented work. There will also be ample networking opportunities during coffee breaks, the poster session, the drinks reception and at the gala dinner at Downing College. I would like to thank the Programme Committee for their help in building an unmissable conference programme and our sponsors for their support of this event. I look forward to seeing you at innoLAE 2017. Luigi Occhipinti, PhD innoLAE 2017 Conference Chairman lgo23@cam.ac.uk www.innolae.org
