Truth be told, if things don’t change soon, humanity will experience failed climate change efforts, harsh weather occurrences, and even an extinction of species. People are innovators. While they innovate solutions that remodel their business and livelihood, they need to act on preserving this unique and habitable planet in this solar system. The founders hail from traditional farming backgrounds where they have been working in the tech sector in the UK. They have been colleagues in different banking institutions. The duo observed that technology has been the key driver in transforming several industries. Every time they visit India, farmers’ plight worsened day by day where they are imposed with restrictions to survive on governmentintroduced subsidies and fragile existence. Taken aback by the scenario, both the founders decided to make determined strides to improve the livelihoods of the farmers and develop resilience to climate changewhile serving them with empowerment opportunities. They wanted farmers to run their cultivation on a regular basis. Of innumerable challenges faced by smallsize farmers, the most prominent one is poor access to finance and the inability to get quality inputs like seeds & fertilizers. Inability to market the products effectively and the uncertain climatic condition pose the drawbacks that push them below the poverty line. Hence, Farmsio was born with a sheer intent to address the farmers’ challenges with proper deployment of technology. Moreover, with years of experience in the financial sector and driven by passion and purpose, the duo came up with this innovative venture.

Today, our agricultural systems are collapsingfrom food supply to the livelihoods of our farmers have been devastated. So many factors are responsible for this scenario- climate change, drought, flooding and wildfires impacting over 90% of 570 million global farms. The multiplying world population has been estimated to grow over 8.5 billion by 2030, imposing the demand for improved Agri produce and food production. But day by day, Soil Organic Carbon (SOC), land biodiversity, soil fertility and yield are being depleted due to the current agriculture practices. It is a huge concern that needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Crop yield volatility is making sustainable farming expensive, and the farmers are facing tougher regulations, new farming methods and increasing pressure to reduce GHG Emissions. We all recognize that changes must be made now to limit global warming to 1.5˚C. Making smarter decisions is the need of the hour to mitigate the drastic impact on the environment.

SHANTANU NAIDU A YOUNG ASSISTANT OF RATAN TATA Shantanu Naidu is a well-known and motivating millennial who is a social activist, an animal lover, an author, and a budding businessman. He is Ratan Tata’s general manager, but he is also referred to as Tata’s assistant by some. Shantanu Naidu has been referred to as Ratan Tata’s millennial friend. There are numerous images of the two conversing and enjoying at various occasions. By outlining a new philosophy of life, Shantanu has emerged as a sort of role model who has improved society.
WHO IS SHANTANU NAIDU ? Shantanu Naidu, born in Pune in 1993 into a Telugu family, has always stood out from other kids of his age. The young man, now 28 years old, has established himself as a wellknown figure in the business world. He has always had a sensitive side and has been somewhat of a young achiever. Even the nearby animals are taken care of by him.
he noticed a dead dog lying in the middle of the road. “I’ve always had a particular spot in my heart for dogs and helped save many of them. Therefore, I was really sad upon seeing a stray dog in that state. When another vehicle ran over the body as I was standing there contemplating pulling it to the side of the road, I was devastated, “Added Naidu.
His successes are impressive and worthy of discussion. He was a founding member of a student group called Motopaws that helped street dogs live fulfilling lives. Because of this, he got the idea to create denim collars with reflectors to protect street dogs from being run over by moving cars. Naidu subsequently saved many dogs as a result of this action.
Naidu wanted to take action because he loves dogs. So, with the aid of his friends, he created a collar for dogs. The collar had reflectors on drivers to see the dog from a distance. The next day, he rode with his friends to collar the stray dogs. In a Humans of Bombay interview, he claimed,

I wasn’t sure if it would work, but the next morning I awoke to a message informing me that a dog had been saved thanks to the collar. It was a fantastic feeling!

His initiative received high praise, and it was even highlighted in the newsletter for the Tata group of companies. The industry was delayed by a lack of funding as the demand for collars quickly fell dramatically. Then, because Ratan Tata also loved dogs, his father asked him to write him a letter. Initially, he hesitated, but later reasoned, why not? I then actually wrote him a note, which I soon forgot about. After two months, Naidu received a letter from Ratan Tata that was signed, and that letter forever changed his life. Tata expressed his desire to meet the young employee in addition to praising the initiative. A few days later, I ran into him at his Mumbai office,” said Naidu. Your work profoundly touches me, he told me. Even now, remembering it gives me chills. Our friendship started when he brought me to his home to meet his dogs, and he also helped us with funding!
His invention, Motopaws, is active in 20 cities and four nations. He also wrote the book I Came Upon a Lighthouse, describing his interactions with Ratan Tata. He also launched the “On Your Sparks” initiative, where he offers advice to aspiring business owners. His webinar fee, which supports the growth of Motopaws, a project to ensure animal safety, is charged. SHANTANU NAIDU’S SALARY AND NET WORTH He offers live online lectures every Sunday on his Instagram account for a fee of Rs 500 per participant. These funds support the Motopaws NGO, which works to improve the lives of stray dogs. Motopaws, his organization, is now present in 20 cities and four nations. According to various media portals, his salary is not disclosed, so the amount may not be an accurate estimate. He may be receiving additional payments from the Tata Group and his regular salary. In addition, his organization and online talks have contributed to his net worth of Rs 5–6 crores. CONCLUSION Shantanu Naidu is a successful and inspirational entrepreneur. He has made an incredible contribution to the world and has clearly shown the sacrifices one needs to make to achieve their goals. Even though he was a successful businessman before, he was driven by his love for dogs, which led him to leave one of the biggest companies in the world.
Later, Naidu left India to pursue an MBA at Cornell University. Still, before leaving, he committed to Tata that upon his return, he would devote his life to working for the Tata Trust, which the eminent industrialist gladly accepted. In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Shantanu Naidu recalled how Ratan Tata called him upon returning to India and made him an assistant offers. As soon as I returned to India, he called and said, “I have a lot of work to do in my office. Would you like to help me out? — I was unsure of how to respond. I then took a deep breath before responding, “Yes,” shortly after.” Naidu has found all these in one superhuman, Ratan Tata, whereas people his age have difficulty finding the right group of friends, the right mentor, and the right kind of Boss. People call him Boss with affection, but Naidu prefers to refer to him as the “Millennial Dumbledore” because she believes that name best describes him.

EU AGREES TO MANDATE USB TYPE-C CHARGER FOR ALL PHONES BY 2024:
WILL IT IMPACT APPLE?

he EU has officially agreed to mandate USB Type-C chargers for all phones by 2024. This significant policy change will affect every electronics company, from Apple to Samsung, mainly because the new regulation forces phone makers to include fast-charging capabilities. But does it matter for Apple? Yes and no. It’s not like Cupertino doesn’t sell a variety of charging accessories alongside their devices already. Still, the lack of a single connector across all its products could impact some in specific markets — those countries where people use power outlets with two coils instead of three (though this will only affect newer MacBooks). What do the EU’s new USB-C rules mean for the iPhone? The European Union’s legislators have agreed on new proposals that would require all smartphone, headphone, digital camera, and tablet manufacturers to use the same universal charging port: USB Type-C. The new rules are set to go into effect in the fall of 2024, and devices that currently charge via wired cable will be required to do so via a built-in USB-C port. The EU’s rules are only provisional for the time being, and they must be approved by the European Council and the European Parliament before they become official. This is expected to happen after the summer recess ends on September 1st. It will go into effect 20 days later, giving most manufacturers 24 months to comply, which is why the compliance date is set for fall 2024. Laptops are an exception, as high-wattage USB-C chargers are less standard than phone chargers. They’ll have 40 months instead, bringing us to the start of 2026. If the legislation passes its current form, Apple will be forced to switch from Lightning to USB-C in the EU, not just on the iPhone. All headphones, earbuds, wireless mice, and wireless keyboards would be required to use USB-C for wired charging, according to a press release from the European Council. This includes the AirPods Max, AirPods, Magic Mouse, and Magic Keyboard, all currently powered by Lightning. What impact should the new rules have? As a result of the new rules, Apple would be required to include USB-C ports on its devices. Apple is the largest company to use a custom charging port only available on select products, such as the iPhone series, which uses an Apple-designed lightning connector. In recent years, Apple, on the other hand, has been moving away from the lightning cable, and Apple has already released MacBooks and iPads with USB-C charging ports. By ‘autumn 2024,’ USB-C will be required on all phones sold in the EU. By the fall of 2024, legislators in the European Union will have agreed on legislation requiring all future smartphones sold in the EU — including Apple’s iPhone — to have the universal USB-C port for wired charging. Tablets, digital cameras, headphones, handheld video game consoles, and e-readers, among other electronic devices, will be subject to the rule. At some point in the future, laptops will be required to follow the law. The legislation must still be approved by the EU Parliament and Council later this year, but this appears to be a formality.The law will be in place “by autumn 2024,” The European Parliament, according to a press release, By this date, all devices sold in the EU that are subject to the law must support USB-C for wired charging. Conclusion : If implemented, users in the European Union will have to use USB-C cables to connect their phones and other devices to power outlets. Of course, this means a price increase for all new devices sold in the EU, but it also demands Apple change its entire charging infrastructure — including wired headphones and keyboards. Apple is already moving away from Lightning by developing USB-C ports on newer MacBooks. But if the EU’s rules go into effect, Apple will have no choice but to include this port on every new iPhone and iPad available in the region.
