Menu B. Planet-saving food solutions
Menu B is a global communication ecosystem where citizens, policy makers and business leaders can share ideas with each other and connect with the actionable steps that will put us all at the heart of the global food revolution. Because Menu B thinking and actions set out how we fast-track the transition to sustainable and desirable futures that help deliver all 17 Global Goals. The destiny of the Goals depends on what the future of food becomes, so Menu B is focussed on inspiring eating and production habits that offer solutions to the most pressing global grand challenges.
The Menu B initiative was launched on World Food Day, 2020.
There is no doubt that transformative change is possible. Food binds us together and breaks down barriers. It is a language we all love to speak.
about. In Marc Buckley’s upcoming book element of the initiative, ‘Menu B: people and planet-saving solutions’, he will reflect this unifying cultural bond, in all its glorious diversity, by bringing together an inspiring range of passionate voices: food experts, sustainable innovators, social entrepreneurs, authors, farmers, food producers, chefs, activists, and consumers. All of them on a mission to achieve global food reform. Because they understand it is a vital component in the development of any sustainable silver bullet powerful enough to ease human suffering, improve health, and get us back into the safe operating space of our planetary boundaries.

about.
Menu B initiative Because planet A needs a menu B...
The Menu B handbook will be part of a wider Menu B programme of virtual events and challenges designed to support governments, businesses, citizens and investors make decisions that will pave the way to realising societal shifts in attitudes towards food. Our Impact Comms Programme for under 25s will ensure young voices are at the heart of the debate. There will also be a Menu B cookbook of ideas from top chefs, that will suggest meals that are nutritious for people and planet. A go_menub Instagram handle will promote this aspect of the campaign, and act as a place where people can post the day-to-day Menu B food choices/ideas they are adopting. Ultimately, we believe the pressing need to make Menu B choices should be central to our discussions around food. From what we eat, to the decisions our policy makers take, it is about creating the types of cultural change and actions in food behaviours Menu B practices and habits promote. This is about all of us, and this simple truth underpins the direction of the Menu B initiative, which will work to nurture and support new practices from the grassroots up.

Ongoing social media campaigns like go_menub will also contribute to building a grassroots movement. And a Menu B e-cookbook: ‘nutrition for people and planet’ will help in reaching a wider audience and boost social media engagement.
Because planet A needs a menu B...
The goal is for Menu B to become a popular concept people talk about in relation to their discussions around food. It is more accessible than simply talking about being vegan as the only food solution, meaning it can connect with a wide audience and generate more impactful outcomes. Thereby creating a culture of change and action in food behaviours linked to the shift towards MenuB practices and habits.
“
MENU B THINKING AND ACTIONS ARE HOW WE FAST-TRACK THE TRANSITION AND ENSURE THE DELIVERY OF ALL 17 SDGS.”
