“ I’m proud of all the goals I’ve achieved. Sometimes I feel that people forgot about the road I trod before getting here. - Astralia In March, Second Life fashion brand Ghee, held it’s first “Ghee Girl” contest. After several challenges, the 30+ entrants were whittled down to a final dozen, and following a dazzling finale, the winner was announced - someone only too familiar to readers of iNOVARE our very own editor Astralia. We spoke with Ghee designers Warm Clarity
and Beatrice Serendipity after the final. Their delight was quite obvious. Bea said: “Seeing our work brought to life by so many talented, creative models in the contest was so thrilling! Choosing one winner wasn’t easy, but Astralia delivered fabulous styling and photography throughout - she has true star quality, and we are honoured that she is the first ever official Ghee Girl”

We took some time to catch up with Astralia to congratulate her on her win and find out a little about what makes this powerhouse of a model tick. Franklyn D Roosevelt said that “ Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort”. That pretty much sums up Astralia’s career. Her titles read like a shopping list of modelling achievements. Astralia freely admits to being a bit of a maverick, but behind the gorgeous looks beats a warm heart with a great sense of fun.
“I started in 2012. I attended model school at KV Dream Fashion Agency. I went there because I was kinda noob and I saw two beautiful girls with gorgeous avatars at a disco. I got talking to them and it turned out they were models. They gave me the name of the academy.” She laughs. “They didn’t tell me that models are broke though - I thought I could become rich! Now I can tell you for sure that models are poor even if we are wealthy in different ways, like creativity. Going to model school really helped me. It opened my mind and I got interested in real life fashion too.”
Where does all this talent and beauty come from? What influences Astralia? My first question was what got her interested in being a Real life influences show in virtual model. the way Astralia

approaches her modelling. I was curious to know who are her favourite designers? “I love John Galliano. His creations are totally out of the box, imaginative and weird. I love weird things - I discovered that during Miss Virtual World thanks to a challenge inspired by Kattaca, the Spanish stylist collaboration who present fashion in really different and original ways. I enjoy seeing new talents too. I recently saw some Pepa Salazar designs and I was amazed. So stunning in their simplicity!” In SLife Astralias’ fashion tastes are as maverick as her personality. “I love all sorts of designers, because I love to dress up in different styles. For casual wear I love Ghee, vive9, and Kitja, they reflect my personal style. For formal and haute couture stuff I like Dead

Dollz, H.M.A.E.M., Lode/ vrsion, Solidea Folies, and David Heather. The list could go on and on - I’m a shopaholic!”. No surprise there - what Second Life model isn’t? Astralia has an impressive list of titles under her belt, so I asked which she is particularly proud of. “I’m proud of all the goals I’ve achieved. Sometimes I feel that people forgot about the road I trod before getting here. It has been hard. I’m sure all models who’ve won titles would agree, before you get the YES you get thousands of NOs. It can be tough. I’m proud of winning the Ghee Girl, ‘cause I really appreciate the work Warm and Bea do, and Bea is a friend. We met during the Miss Virtual World 2014 pageant - I was 4th runner up and I won

the People’s Choice award. That is another achievement I’m really proud of. I’ve also had the chance to represent other brands, e-clipse and Chop Zuey. Big honors! I’m so happy that I have been an inspiration for them.”

I’m also keeping busy as a photographer and of course, working to make iNOVARE better with every issue. But I also have a totally new project! In June I will open my own 100% original mesh store, named after me, Astralia. So this will be another big adventure too.” One thing is clear, whatever new challenges she takes on, this star of the Second Life fashion world is sure to keep shining bright, and we will be watching!

On the other hand there are bloggers who give almost no detail about their lives, but write instead about a hobby or interest of theirs. They may dedicate their blog to something they are passionate about.In fact, today’s blogs can provide hair tips, up-to-date news, technical information, celebrity scandal, political rumor, gets people involved in volunteering, advice on investments as well as there being blogs on cooking, health, gardening, sport, blogging blogs (this blog) and of course many personal blogs and quite a few strange blogs. So who are the leading lights of the second life blogging community, Blogger of the month is Japanese model Rehana
Seljan one of Second lifes leading models presently competing in Miss Second Life she is uniquely experienced in commenting on and styling second lifes latest fashion trends and has a real passion for s l fashion. What started you blogging in Second life I asked Rehana she replied “I originally began by keeping a dairy and discovered I loved to keep diary of my Second life I combined this with my love of the Second life fashion world . So its very natural for me to start blogging in SL.” a natural writer her Blogs show a real elegance and style combined wih her own unique insights her love for what she does comes through, who I wondered are your fashion inspirations with Second life ? “ Chop Zuey always impresses me with

I have been part of Azul since being new in Second life its originality and consistent beauty always impresses me and never ceases to amaze me And in RL, Issey Miyake is fabulous the originality is fabulous “this originality can be seen in the works of Rehana both as a model and a blogger this originality and creativity earned Rehana the title blogger of the month I asked her how it felt to be named the Blogger of the month her reply was modestly spoken “I was very surprised and I did not really understand why I was chosen but I am very pleased and honored to be blogger of the month” , what I asked is the best thing about Blogging in SL , for Rehana the satisfaction comes from art well done she gains great satisfaction

But what is next for Rehana?, where does she go next? Currently I focus on Miss SL. After that, I would like to continue to improve my modelling skills long time.
