About Us.
Mission:
To engage, equip and empower individuals to make informed decisions about pregnancy, sexual health and relationships with Christ-like compassion.
Portrait of a PWC Family.
Vision:
We envision a Kansas City where every parent values every child, born or preborn within a strong Christian family that positively impacts our community.
We are dedicated to building strong families, but our initial connection always begins with individuals – first a woman…and a pregnancy test. She learns she is pregnant and begins searching for help.
Panicked, confused, trapped, unloved – this is how she feels on our first visit.
There is another individual - the father.
Panicked, confused, trapped, unloved, inadequate – this is how he feels on our first visit.
The final individual is the child, whose fate is to be quickly determined by this mother and father.
HOW BUSINESS OWNERS
As we meet them where they are and share a vision for the future, these individuals begin to see the family that is taking shape and start to understand and desire the responsibility of parenting. Their focus shifts from their own choices, worries, futures and they begin to see a path forward where their child lives in their care or in the care of another family, but is not destroyed. Most importantly, they understand the potential of Christ to bring victory and healing in every situation.
Empowered, valued, loved, equipped and eternally secure – this is how they feel on our last visit.

As we work toward this ideal outcome, our #1
priority
is to be the first choice for women facing unplanned pregnancies. Here’s why:

6 days. The window of time between a woman learning she may be pregnant and deciding to end the life of the child.
8 out of 10. The number of women who walk into Planned Parenthood intent on abortion and follow through with that decision.
8 out of 10. The number of women who choose life when walking first into Parkville Women’s Clinic.
We must reach women first.
We must reach women first.
To excel in this first-choice initiative, PWC’s national partnership with Vitae [client-facing marketing team] positions us near the top of internet searches for abortion services in Kansas City. When a woman reaches out by text or phone, we must gain her trust so she will consider an appointment. Our expanded offering of STI testing in partnership with the State of Missouri also connects us to more clients in our target audience.
To continue to be a woman’s first point of entry for pregnancy options, we will build on our current marketing efforts through the growth of our team to include a communications director who will aid in expanding our client and donor reach by implementing a full-scale communication strategy. Increased medical testing will attract more clients. We look forward to being the first choice for multitudes of women in the coming years in a brand-new facility complete with a full-scale medical lab.

Priority #2 is to create a safety net of
comprehensive care for women and men facing unplanned pregnancies.
Our clients feel like they are walking a tightrope. We want them to see that beneath them is a secure net, woven by a wide range of people and organizations who are ready to help guide them to safety so they can just breathe. Our fatherhood program has mentored 439 fathers in just two years, demonstrating the tremendous demand for these services. The fatherhood program was launched with a national grant, an exciting endorsement of our program. We now have male volunteers on site during all clinic hours to encourage fathers, and parenting and life skills classes for both mother and father are central to PWC’s ministry - with 1800+ classes completed annually.
Marketing is undergoing fundamental & painful on several fronts: The impact of all this is a severe slowdown in decision making and an inability to optimize critical processes in customer-facing functions, most poignantly in marketing and sales.
Data is constantly streaming into companiesfrom a myriad of sources. Businessrules need to be in place to identify which sources for what parts of the customer data record are to be most trusted (and to what extent). The unstructured data comingfrom social sources needs special attention so that it does not swamp the database with irrelevant or nonconforming information. Typically, some form Data must be consistent across digital and traditional campaigns
PWC cannot offer all the services our clients need. For this reason, we provide referrals to government agencies, church charities and services, post-abortive ministries, and adoption resources. We have plans to expand our reach through education in area schools - helping students understand the wonder of their bodies and placing PWC top of mind should they need pregnancy services. Because clinical therapy is a great need in the comprehensive care of our families, in the coming years we will grow our ministry team with the addition of a licensed professional Christian counselor.
And finally, we must maintain an agile organization positioned to respond to rapidly evolving attacks on life and family.
Abortion on demand allows women to order abortion pills online, delivered discreetly to their door, to abort their child on demand. The war to protect reproductive rights has become a well-funded and increasingly mainstream movement. One group called Reproaction issued a newsletter December 2023 with a headline offering: Self-Managed Abortion with Pills Everywhere. The piece contained the holiday greeting: “May your day be filled with the joy of mifepristone and misoprostol” [drugs used to induce abortion].
Missouri faces a potential 2024 vote to insert abortion rights into the state constitution. Given the quickly evolving resources and messaging promoting abortion on demand, PWC must be prepared to respond to threats and opportunities posed by the dark and rapidly accelerating abortion industry.
We are not starting from scratch in our preparation efforts. We receive training and recommendations on best practices through state and national affiliations which we regularly implement. Recent examples include updated security measures, improved medical protocols, and intentional social media reputation management. Being able to respond to what is happening around us is a tall order, but the keys are for us in the coming years are to:
• Ensure strong operational structure for long-term continuity
• Continually evaluate personnel to attract and retain strong staff with strategic minds
• Expand awareness and support for our ministry which will strengthen governance and financial readiness
Giving-Driven Steps to Move Us Forward

Double the number of life-saving ultrasounds performed through the purchase of an additional ultrasound machine and the build-out of exam rooms
Build a culture of life through community outreach onsite, with enhanced meeting space available for training and human connection
Position PWC to respond to cultural threats through investment in internal systems and long-term planning to equip clinic with next-level strategic operations
Ensure client and donor communication is relevant, effective and timely by adding in-house communications staff to plan and execute messaging
Attend to faith development through extended discipleship and long-term healing opportunities in structured connection with the body of Christ
Provide critical long-term healing care to families in alignment with Biblical principles through in-house Christian counseling services
Expand PWC’s first-choice status and referrals in formalized connection with the medical community
Imagine Innovative Strategies for Supporting Life
Extend awareness of PWC and strengthen “first choice” status by building a bridge to area schools by providing education about human bodies, online safety and sexuality
Expand the ministry window available to connect with clients and fill a void in care by providing expanded prenatal care to serve women throughout their pregnancies
Weave previous clients into the PWC care net by creating a mentor program to allow these men and women to give back
Reach more abortion minded women who might not travel to the clinic by adding a mobile unit to take our life-saving medical care to patients
Counter the growing demand for abortion on demand by activating a pro-life medical community in the Kansas City region to increase the availability of abortion pill reversal and other diagnostic care for pregnant women
Reach an unserved abortion segment by adding support services for parents contemplating abortion because of prenatal condition diagnosis
